Three years back, I began my MCA journey at Kristu Jayanti University, not realizing how much this place would transform me. Back then, I was a completely different person, shy, unsure, and a little nervous about what was waiting for me. The transition from a B.Com background to an MCA programme was a big leap for me. Everything felt new, from the subjects and syllabus to the environment and faces around me.
The first year was, in fact, one of the toughest phases. I struggled to catch up with programming concepts, coding, and practical sessions. There were moments when I questioned if I had made the right choice. However, one of the best aspects of KJU is the people. My classmates were always there to help, whether it was understanding a new concept, completing assignments, or preparing for exams. Everyone believed in learning together and lifting each other up. That sense of teamwork and friendship made a huge difference for me.
And then came the teachers. They weren’t just lecturers delivering lessons; they were mentors who truly cared. I still remember how patient and understanding they were when I found certain topics difficult. They took extra time to explain things, motivated me to keep going, and constantly reminded us that growth takes time. That kind of support was something I had never experienced before, and it gave me the courage to push through.
Coming all the way from Nagpur, I was worried about adjusting to a completely new city. I didn’t know anyone here, and I had all the typical fears, “Will I make friends? Will I fit in? Will I miss home too much?” But the moment I stepped onto campus, all those fears slowly started to fade. The people I met here, classmates, seniors, teachers, they made sure I never felt alone. In no time, the campus started feeling like home. I found friends who became like family, and teachers who became like guardians. Even being miles away from Nagpur, I never once felt homesick, because I had found my second home here at KJU.
Over the years, I got several opportunities to explore my interests beyond academics. I represented the university in multiple intercollegiate fests and even won prizes, something I would’ve never imagined before joining KJU. Each event taught me something new: teamwork, leadership, confidence, and how to handle both success and failure with grace. These experiences not only helped me grow as a student but also shaped me as an individual.
The campus itself became a huge part of my journey. The lush green spaces, calm environment, and welcoming atmosphere made every day special. I even had my favorite little corner, a quiet spot where I’d sit for hours, think, and sometimes just breathe. That place became my therapy zone, my space to reflect and recharge. And then there were the events, especially Ethnic Day, which has always been my favorite. It’s that one day when the entire campus bursts with colour, culture, and joy. You get to meet people from all backgrounds, share traditions, and celebrate together as one big Jayantian family.
In 2024, I graduated with my MCA degree, one of the proudest moments of my life. Standing there in my graduation gown, I realized how far I’d come from being a scared first-year student to someone who had grown in confidence, knowledge, and character. But my journey with Kristu Jayanti University didn’t end there. In fact, it took a beautiful new turn.
Today, I’m back at KJU, but this time in a completely different role, as part of the University’s Media Team. It feels surreal to walk through the same corridors, see the same classrooms, and relive those memories, but now as someone who contributes to the University’s story. Being part of the media team allows me to share the essence of KJU with others, its spirit, energy, and everything that makes it so special.
Looking back, I can say with all my heart that Kristu Jayanti University didn’t just educate me, it truly changed my life. It gave me confidence when I doubted myself, strength when I felt lost, and opportunities that helped me discover who I really am. It made me realize that learning isn’t just about books or grades, it’s about growing, connecting, and becoming the best version of yourself.
KJU will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s where I found my friends, my mentors, and my purpose. And as I continue this new chapter here, I’m proud to say that I’ll always be a Jayantian, growing, learning, and giving back to the place that made me who I am today.
