Attending the Yaan food fest, themed "From Kashmir to Kanyakumari: A Taste of India's Heritage," was an unforgettable journey through India's diverse culinary landscape. Representing Karnataka, our team proudly showcased Holige, a cherished traditional sweet flatbread stuffed with jaggery and lentils, often prepared during festivals and special occasions. Our team members—Poojitha Bai M (23COMA45), Darshan S (23COMA13), Inchara (23COMA24), and Naveen (23COMA42)—enthusiastically took part in presenting this delightful dish.
Beyond celebrating Karnataka's food heritage, the fest was a gateway to exploring the incredible variety of flavours across India. It was fascinating to witness how each region incorporates local ingredients and distinctive cooking techniques, weaving culinary stories that reflect their unique traditions. More than just a feast for the palate, the event beautifully illustrated India's unity in diversity, reminding us that our heritage is built on shared experiences and cherished individual customs.
