Kridotsava 2024-25 stepped up its grace with the commencement of the Cricket Tournament between twelve teams. The day started with travelling from the main campus of KJC to Wisdom Montfort School. The college bus service provided the transportation. After twenty minutes, the teams and facilities reached the venue, where they were about to witness the greatness of the Cricketing aura featuring the students of various departments of KJC.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Brother K.K. Thomas, Principal along with Vice Principal Brother Justin of Wisdom Montfort School, and Fr. Joshy Mathew. Following the inauguration, the first match commenced between Jayantian Nova and Jayantian Spartans. It was an intense and closely contested game, with the Spartans ultimately taking the lead. Nova had to walk back home after a defeat, with no lapse in Time; the second match began between Jayantian Pheonix and Jayantian Blasters team Phoenix with the precision and perfection of their deliveries moved to the next stage. The next game was between the defending champions Jayantian Jaguars and Jayantian Dominator; despite their name team, Dominators couldn't dominate the defending team and had to return with disappointing faces. Wasting no time, the next match started between Jayantian Ironhawks and Jayantian Inferno; team Inferno stood superior this Time and booked their spot for the Quarter Finals.
The Quater Finals matches were much more nail-biting and intense; the first match was between Jayantian Spartans versus Jayantian Samrats; team Spartans stood tall again and grabbed the victor comfortably batting first and scored the highest total in the tournament till and the most significant win too in the calculation of runs. The second Quarter Final was between Jayantian Pheonix and Jayantian Raptors. With their phenomenal bowling and tight fielding performance, the team in green walks forward. The next match in the Quarter Finals series was between the Jayantian Falcons and the Jayantian Jaguars. This Time, the defending champions couldn't protect their crown and had to walk back home. The last and final Quarter Final match was played between Jayantian Inferno and Jayantian Knights. The Knights played like kings and grabbed the spot for semis.
The first semi-final match featured an exciting clash between Jayantian Spartans and Jayantian Phoenix, showcasing a fierce competition between the Spartans’ formidable batting lineup and Phoenix’s strong bowling attack. This time, the batters rose to the occasion, securing the Spartans a spot in the final. In the second semi-final, Jayantian Knights faced off against Jayantian Falcons. Despite the Knights’ dominant performance in the quarterfinals, the Falcons delivered a stunning performance, ending the Knights’ reign and advancing to the final.
After ten matches, we had the best two against each other who excelled in all stages, including their skill set, performance, strategies, and teamwork. It was time to begin the Grand Finale, Jayantian Spartans versus Jayantian Falcons; after an intense, nail-biting competition between bat and ball of twelve overs, it all came down to the last six deliveries; it was all about which team player could hold his nerve and deliver the performance with any panic, despite of being in high-pressure situation team Falcons crossed the line. They painted their names on the Trophy, and we had a new Champion of Cricket, Team Jayantian Falcons, who put all their heart and soul, everything they had from head to toe, to calling themselves Champions of Cricket Tournament, Kridotsava 2024-25.
