Palatum Litterabum, a literary food fest, was organised by the Department of English on 20th January 2025 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm in the Humanities block. Palatum Litterabum is a Latin term that translates to "Palate of Letters." It is hence understood as a metaphor for a taste for literature or a more refined appreciation for written works. This event was not merely a celebration of Food but also of literature and culinary delights from worldwide. The food fest showcased numerous dishes that were either directly or indirectly related to great works of literature. Some stalls included Arabian Nights, Valentine Ventures, Divine Delights, The Silk Route, Grim and Gothic, Feast of Fiction, etc.
Food and literature are two things that can easily touch hearts and capture the soul. Therefore, the Department of English brought these elements together and added a hint of competition to create a memorable event for the participants and all the onlookers. Participants were also permitted to sell some of their items if they wished. This incorporated an element of financial independence, allowing them to earn back what they spent while preparing for this fest. The food fest was filled with aromatic dishes beautifully displayed and desserts to satisfy any sweet tooth. Palatum Litterabum did not just fulfil the pleasure of taste but also did justice to the palate of literature. It was a successful fusion of literary appreciation and culinary tradition, leaving a lasting impression on all the participants.
