Ragging is a harmful practice that causes fear, humiliation, and sometimes even lasting trauma to students. Ragging is a cruel and unacceptable act. It damages the dignity and peace of a student’s mind. Ragging is not fun; it is an act that hurts and humiliates others. Many students who enter college with hopes and dreams often face fear and pressure because of ragging. It affects their confidence and their studies. What some may see as a joke or tradition often becomes a trauma to those facing it. It destroys the confidence of freshers and creates a toxic and unsafe atmosphere in educational institutions or even workplaces.
That is why anti-ragging rules are so important. Therefore, strict anti-ragging laws and regulations have been introduced, making ragging a punishable offence. Anti-ragging ensures students feel secure, respected, and free to express themselves without fearing harassment.
Nowadays, educational institutions value respect and equality above all. Strict rules, awareness campaigns in classes, and supportive systems are introduced in colleges to prevent ragging and punish those responsible for this. Seniors should welcome juniors with kindness instead of harassment. Students must understand that friendship and guidance are the true ways to welcome newcomers. A campus free from ragging creates friendship, trust, and a healthy environment where students can grow.
