Department of Economics, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru organized Ecnotech 2025: Towards a Sustainable Future, which looked through the lens of climate change and was an eye-opener. Ecnotech is a day filled with an exhibition of exceptional ideas put to matter. The theme revolved around creating models representing the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) and giving insights to attain these goals. Sustainable development goals include goals that are to be achieved by nations by 2030.
It aims to create "Peace and prosperity for people and the planet." The event began with an inaugural address by Fr. Dr. Lijo P Thomas, Vice Principal & CFO and the Chief Guest, Mr. Kabir Aswani's enlightening speech, his emphasis on carbon taxes and how organizations can bridge the gap between innovation and sustainability to make profits was precious.
Students voiced out their ideas of AI integrated healthcare system, taxes on corporate wastes, poverty eradication, circular economy, rape and abuse prevention, holistic education system, mindful consumption and production, climate change, and various other strategies were thought-provoking. The exhibition also housed various games and stalls for the audience. There was a sense of responsibility among the audience and an outlook that 'AI is the present, but sustainability is the future.'
