PRATHIMA T
M.Com Batch 2016-2018
One of the things that caught my attention while considering Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous) to pursue my PG programme was its successful placement history over the years.
Its systematic placement drives and orientations conducted, persuaded me to join the Centre for Employability and Corporate Relations (CECR) as one of the placement coordinators from my department. It was indeed a challenging and fruitful journey as I was privileged to meet and learn from officials and intellectuals from various organizations, who shared their expertise and knowledge with us in the pre-placement talks.
The CECR of KJC has given us a number of opportunities and has helped us find our dream jobs through constant encouragement and guidance from our professors. The students are allowed to take up a number of placement drives until one is placed.
The security and challenges involved in a banking job have always interested me to become a banker. I took up a number of interviews, some of which helped me, to discover my strengths and also introduced me to my flaws. Prof Sen B Mathew and Prof Neeta Dwivedi have been constant sources of encouragement and support. They truly made me believe in my potential; especially, during the times when I doubted it the most.
In the process of attending many placement drives conducted by a number of well-established organizations, I was selected by Target Corporation and South Indian Bank, and was given a chance to choose the one I'd prefer.
The whole journey has been a very exciting and knowledgeable one. And now, with my heart filled with gratitude and pride, I can say that I'm a proud banker at the South Indian Bank with due credit to the CECR of our College. I will always be grateful to my Professors and my ‘Alma Mater’ who helped me to find a career in banking.
