The Christmas season at Kristu Jayanti College is one of the most anticipated times when the campus is filled with lights, vibrant hues, and enchanting energy during the celebration. The entire college transforms into a magical wonderland, showcasing the true beauty of Christmas.
As the season unfolds, our campus comes alive with festive fervour. Every nook and corner of the college shines with twinkling fairy lights, shimmering stars, and beautifully adorned ornaments. For me, Christmas has always been the most significant day of the year, a moment to celebrate the birth of the infant Jesus and embrace the spirit of prayer, gratitude, and happiness. I try to make every Christmas season as beautiful as possible, but nothing compares to the breathtaking beauty of Kristu Jayanti.
In this season, when the trees and plants are covered in winter's embrace and cold air, our college stands as an icon of beauty and joy. As you step onto the campus, greeted by its sparkling decorations, it feels like you are entering a hidden heavenly kingdom where every corner radiates warmth and joy. Preparations for the Christmas celebrations begin by the end of November; the college is a sight to behold by December. The decorations are in full swing from the gates to every corner of the campus.
Starting from the entrance, the security cabin is now a part of the festivity, adorned with LED lights that go down in sparkling streams and the stars twinkling, welcoming everyone. Walking down the main entrance, you go through an illuminated archway, where vibrant lights of all colours and shapes of stars, flowers, and flames are seen. There are life-sized stars that glisten, and students gather around to capture unforgettable moments with their loved ones, creating memories that will last a lifetime. One of the most cherished spots is Chavara Square, where massive stars, reindeer, a Christmas tree of lights, and figures of flames on either side of the statue of St. Chavara are seen, adding charm to the season.
As you approach the Humanities block, a mesmerizing crib made of LED lights comes into view, complete with angels, evoking a sense of awe and admiration. The Admin Block, Humanities Block, and Main Block shine in full glory, with lights glowing from the very top of the buildings towards the bottom, transforming the entire campus into a carnival of festive wonder. The green campus during the day glows with the spirit of Christmas as the sun goes down… the trees, shrubs, and plants covered in soft, radiant lights tell us a tale of an unforgettable celebration. Each leaf in the Kristu Jayanti College has a story: Christmas, the story of every Jayantian.
The Magic of Christmas does not stop within the campus. The images and videos of our Kristu Jayanti College during Christmas flood social media as students share their awe and admiration for the campus's beauty. The main photo spots are the "massive, radiant stars" and the iconic "statue of Jesus with children," which all the Jayantians cherish. A visit to these places without a picture feels incomplete for any Jayantian, as these snapshots become a treasured part of their memories.
As we approach the closing scene of the year, the preparations for Christmas and the welcoming of the New Year become an integral part of our lives. Let the lights reflect the joy in our hearts, the stars twinkle with happiness, and the colours bring smiles to all. This festive season reminds us of hope and love, filling us with anticipation for the year ahead. May the spirit of Christmas bring peace and delight to every heart.
