The Google Developer Group (GDG) on Campus at Kristu Jayanti University is a dynamic student-led community that empowers learners to explore, create, and innovate using cutting-edge technologies. Supported by Google’s global developer network, the chapter organizes workshops, hackathons, and expert sessions on topics such as Android Development, Web Technologies, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

The initiative aims to cultivate technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation among students while connecting them with a global network of developers and industry professionals. Through GDG on Campus, students gain hands-on experience, enhance problem-solving skills, and transform creative ideas into impactful technological solutions.


HACKVERSE 2.0
Date: 28 & 29 September 2025
SCHOOL OF COMPUTATIONAL AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES – DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE In collaboration with Google Developers Group (GDG) on campus in association with HiDEVS and CodeCrafters organized HACKVERSE 2.0 - The 24 Hour National Inter-Collegiate Hackathon on 28th and 29th September for students across the country. With the theme, “AI and Open Innovation ”, and the motto “ Think, Create, Resolve”, HACKVERSE 2.0 inspired participants to innovate without limits.

The event welcomed participation from students across the nation, irrespective of whether they are pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate programs. The Hackathon marked a celebration of innovation, dedication, problem-solving, and technological excellence, connecting minds through the journey of learning.

The hacking marathon began with 42+ teams and 180+ participants. The online session was conducted from 08.00 pm on 28th September to 09.00 am on 29th September 2025, followed by the offline session at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed To Be University), Bangalore from 09.00 am to 09.00 pm on 29th September, 2025. The evaluation criteria for the Hackathon included identifying best solutions, with the top three teams receiving the prizes. Special prizes were awarded to the teams with projects by considering the quality of code and strong technical feasibility. The participants and winners have been rewarded swags worth 12,000 dollars.

Unlike other Hackathons where people are bound by the problem statements given, in HACKVERSE 2.0, the coders were provided the environment where they can identify a problem themselves and propose innovative solutions for the problems.

The event was judged by Mr. Srinivas Keshavaiyer, Associate Director at EY, Digital Engineering Technologies - Financial Services and Mr. Deepak Chawla, Founder and CEO HiDEVS, a gamified self-learning platform, building the world's largest GenAI- ready workforce through project-first learning

The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Mr. Srinivas Keshavaiyer (Associate Director at EY, Digital Engineering Technologies - Financial Services), Prof. Sevuga Pandian A (Head, Department of Computer science), Dr. Ranjitha M (Program Coordinator, Computer Applications), Prof. Vishnu Priya (Faculty coordinator).

First Prize - Team Lol-gorithm of Presidency University, Bengaluru
Second Prize - Team StrawHats of Kristu Jayanti University, Bengaluru
Third Prize - Team Hacker Knights of Mysore College of Engineering

While addressing the participants Mr. Srinivas appreciated everyone for their tireless efforts and hardwork. He encouraged them to take up the stage and face the crowd with confidence, reminding them that confidence is the one of the most important criterias to succeed in your life.

Prof. Sevuga Pandian, in his valedictory address, praised the great committed efforts of the participants over the past 24 hours. He emphasized that Hackathons and related events are effective platforms for learning and self-discovery of our environment. He urged the students to adopt the cycle of Learn, Unlearn and Re-learn as a lifelong process. He also highlighted that such events are great exercises to train the students for a better future.

HACKVERSE 2.0 concluded on a high note, leaving behind a trail of innovation, collaboration and inspiration. More than just a competition, it became a platform where young minds dared to Think, Create and Resolve…shaping ideas that can drive the future of technology.
