BCA with Analytics

Programme Overview
Data science has become one of the major branches of Computer Applications and its prominence is steadily increasing. Kristu Jayanti College has always made it a point to keep up with the pace of the rapid academic and industry advancements’, and that is why the college is launching a BCA degree course in Analytics under the aegis of the Faculty of Science. A candidate should have studied Mathematics or Statistics as part of their PUC/10+2/Pre- University course, to be eligible to apply for this course. The syllabus has been framed with diligent attention to all the relevant modules of data analytics, including Basic HTML and XML,Pl/SQL with database Connectivity, VB.NET, Quantitative Aptitude, Analytics using Spreadsheet, Math Tool, Statistical Inference Tool, Open Source Tools for Analytics etc. These papers will be taught as Core and Value Added Courses from second semester onwards. The students will also have an opportunity to earn Associate Certifications from ISM and Big Data Analytics. The intake is 60.

The BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) Programme provides the essential skills for students to create a successful career in the information technology domain. The BCA Programme is spread across eight semesters in four years (NEP) as an Honors degree and is a Programme affiliated with Bengaluru North University. In the India Today - MDRA survey 2022, BCA Programme was ranked 5th Best in BCA colleges in India and 3rd best in colleges in Bengaluru. Our students receive a broad education that includes a relevant contemporary industry-related curriculum, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams enhancing their spirit of innovation and academic excellence. Besides regular lectures students are enriched with knowledge beyond the curriculum through various experiential and participatory learning opportunity through value added, certificate courses, guest lectures, workshops, seminars, intra and inter Collegiate fest, Science Exhibition and industrial visits.

The Department has initiated Academic Alliance with various industries to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Industries like UiPath, SalesForce, Oracle Academy, Microsoft Dynamics Academic, ICT Academy, ACM-W, NPTEL, AWS Academy, Dell EMC, Palo Alto, Honeywell, SAP, Infosys and VMware IT Academy are on-board to craft initiatives to address the contemporary skill gap in the novel computing technologies. It helps to ensure the industry, a strong pipeline of graduates to meet its future needs. The department also has a Knowledge Kindle Groups and Common Interest Groups to allow the students to connect, communicate and collaborate their creative ideas. The department encourages the students for extended learning process such as self-paced learning through various MOOC and NPTEL courses of their interest.

The shared values of our department are exemplified in various extension activities like Social Outreach Programme (SOP) and Computer Literacy Programme (CLP) providing the students an opportunity to recognize their social responsibility and contribute to the development of the society.

Eligibility
Any student who has passed PUC/10+2/Pre-University equivalent courses in Computer Science and Mathematics securing a minimum of 40% of marks is eligible.
