Focus- Photography Exhibition to Commemorate World Photography Day
Department of Media Studies (UG) organized Focus- Photo Exhibition to commemorate World Photography Day on August 19, 2022. Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College inaugurated the exhibition by switching on the exhibition video prepared by the V semester BA Visual Communication students. During his inaugural address Fr. Dr. Augustine George highlighted the significance of photographs in our lives. He said, “photographers generate meanings to photographs by carefully arranging various elements and applying them thoughtfully in the composition. Therefore, every photographer creates his artistic expressions through the moments he captures with his camera”.
Fr. Dr. Augustine George released the photography magazine ‘The Hues’ produced by BA Visual Communication by handing it to Dr. Gopakumar AV, Dean, Faculty of Humanities. Prof. Abraham, Programme Coordinator, Media Studies (UG), and Mr. Emmanuel Edwin, Student Coordinator were also present.
Prizes for various photography competitions held as part of World Photography day were given to the winners. Mr. Joshua Singh, V Sem BA Visual Communication bagged First Place in Discourse- Photo Essay competition, and the team comprising Mr. Alwin Johnson, Ms. M P Shivapriya, and Ms. Lakshmi S Thottupurathu won First Place in Photo Recreation.
More than 200 photographs showcasing the essence of Bengaluru streets captured by BA Visual Communication students were exhibited during the exhibition.
