The Department of Commerce (PG) conducted the 27th edition of Vichaarmanthan (2015-2016) for all PG students on "financial sector regulations". Shri. N. S. Vishwanathan, Executive Director, RBI was the Chief Guest for the twenty seventh edition of 'Vicharmanthan' - an interactive series with Indian and Global visionaries on March 19, 2016.

Shri. N. S. Vishwanathan is an Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India; He is a post-graduate in Economics. He joined the RBI in 1981 and Chief General Manager, Vigilance and Internal Audit, Industrial Financial Corporation of India, Chief General Manager-In-Charge of Urban Banks Department, Director - Supervision, Bank of Mauritius, Regional Director, RBI, Chennai, Principal Chief General Manager, Department of Non-Banking Supervision, RBI Nominee Director in Punjab & Sind Bank, Dena Bank and Punjab National Bank, He has attended many Seminars and Programmes in India and abroad. At present he is working in the capacity of Executive Director and looking after the Regulation portfolio of Banks since April 2014.
The session began at 12:00pm with a welcome address by Dr. V Babu, co-ordinator M.COM, M.COM(FA), followed by the chief guest's informative session on:
1. Importance of credit in bank
2. Governance & Regulation
3. Principles, Risk Management
4. Financial Inclusion
5. Financial sector
The session was overall made interactive by allowing the students to ask few questions related to financial sector regulations.
