Title: Development in the field of Aeronautical and Missile Systems
Dr. Tessy Thomas on being the Director General of Aeronautical systems shared her personal experiences right from her induction in the 1980s to the latest successful project. Her journey started with the AGNI III project and then went on to be designated as the project leader for the AGNI IV missile project. She has conducted over 50 missile launches in her career and has overcome many challenges. The most challenging times were on the testing facility island in Odissa, where the scientists had no proper resources and lived in challenging conditions. The DRDO looks up to Dr. Tessy as a pillar of creativity and support. She also answered the students with much involvement. The presentation contained missile development stages and future enhancements of the AGNI series. She also shared the process of building a missile, and the resources and time that were taken to build one missile.
On the whole, it was a remarkable experience for the students listening to the most experienced female scientist in DRDO.
