Research Quest

The Department of Professional Management Studies organized Research Week, serving as the preliminary round of the research paper competition Samshodhan. The event drew significant participation from students across various specializations, with each team presenting research ideas before a faculty panel. Over 152 papers were submitted, reflecting strong research interest. Students engaged actively through discussions, clarifications, and constructive feedback. Evaluators used strict academic criteria to shortlist the most innovative and impactful papers for the final round. The event fostered peer learning, collaboration, and exposure to diverse research methodologies. Overall, Research Week strengthened the research culture and set the foundation for the Samshodhan finale. Research Week provided a strong academic platform for students to develop and refine their research abilities. Participants gained presentation experience, feedback, and confidence. Faculty members identified emerging talent and guided students on enhancing research rigor. The shortlisting ensured high-quality entries for the finals. The event also fostered peer interaction, healthy competition, and collaborative learning.


Workshop on Research Excellence: From Idea to Publication

The Department of Professional Management Studies organised a workshop titled "Research Excellence: From Idea to Publication" on 30th July 2025 for final-year BBA students. The session was facilitated by Dr. M. Sugin Raj, & Dr. Saket Ranjan Praveer and effectively introduced the foundational elements of research. Emphasizing critical thinking as the cornerstone of academic inquiry, Dr. Sugin engaged students with thought-provoking questions that demonstrated how research begins with curiosity.

Dr. Saket explained students to identify a well-defined research question is pivotal to initiating impactful research. Highlighting real-world relevance, he encouraged students to explore topics from everyday sources like newspapers, which often contain emerging societal issues ripe for research. The session was interactive and motivated students to view themselves as potential social scientists capable of meaningful contribution through inquiry and investigation.

Samshodhan - 2024
Date: 09 October 2024
The Department of Professional Management Studies organized Samshodhan 2024, a paper presentation competition for final-year BBA students, on 9th October 2024. The event, inaugurated by Fr. Jais V Thomas, aimed to provide students with a platform to showcase their research skills, enhance competencies, and develop valuable transferable skills.

The journey began with an orientation session conducted by the Value-Added Course (VAC) on The Art of Article Writing, followed by a comprehensive guide to the research process. Students explored various topics related to their fields, including Aviation Management, Business Analytics, Tourism and Hospitality, as well as general business themes, allowing them to delve deeply into areas of interest and relevance.

The competition attracted 280 participants, and after a rigorous selection process, 25 teams advanced to the grand finale. During the final stage, these teams presented their detailed research findings, demonstrating their analytical abilities, critical thinking, and communication skills. The event fostered an environment of academic inquiry, encouraging students to go beyond the classroom and engage in scholarly activities.

Conclusion: In recognition of their hard work and outstanding contributions, the best presenters in each category were honoured. Samshodhan 2024 not only celebrated student achievements but also reinforced the importance of research and innovation in shaping future business leaders. The competition successfully cultivated a research-oriented mindset among students, equipping them with essential skills for academic and professional growth.
