Our Educational Philosophy
Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), where an educational legacy spanning over a century meets modernity, is a unique entity in the fabric of higher education in India. The educational philosophy of the academy envisions welding individual academic excellence with holistic development. This pedagogy is encapsulated in the mission, which focuses on the overall growth of the students to become responsible citizens, intellectually alert and active, to grow with mutual respect and co-operation, transforming them into morally sensitive leaders of the future.
This educational paradigm encompasses four pillars:
(i) Knowledge (ii) Skills (iii) Values (iv) Attitude.
i) Knowledge: “Sa vidya vimuktaye” - Knowledge Liberates.
Seeking to integrate education to meet global needs, national development, and social responsibility. Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) imparts knowledge with a quest for excellence. The curriculum stipulated by Bangalore University is enhanced through Value-Added Courses, Certificate Courses, Institution-Industry Interface, Seminars, Workshops, Management Development Programmes (MDPs), Panel Discussions, and more. The technology-driven pedagogy is supplemented by an interactive and experiential learning experience.
ii) Skills: Global competency necessitates an academic ambience strengthened with the necessary skills for a prospective career. The students are equipped with the requisite skills through a well-structured co-curricular and extracurricular framework. Departmental associations and clubs provide a system and platform for skill development, while literary, cultural, sports, and games associations ensure holistic growth. The finer aspects of soft skills are imbibed through various training and personality development programmes.
(iii) Values: An enlightened society is rooted in values. In the present milieu, marked by constantly changing cultural systems, a value-based education is the need of the hour. The Value Instruction Course (VIC), offered in the first year of the degree programme, instils essential values in students. Talks by experts and the Social Outreach Programme conducted in the second year further strengthen their personal and social integrity.
iv) Attitude: The University fosters a well-defined organizational culture. The code of conduct and etiquette instils in young minds the need for a disciplined lifestyle and respect for fellow beings. Through this, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) nurtures individuals who approach challenges with confidence, humility, and service-oriented leadership.
