Jayantian Code of Conduct

The Department of Professional Accounting and Finance conducted an orientation session on Jayantian Code of conduct on 05th August 2023 at Auditorium M1, Main Block, for the first year B.Com PAF students Batch (2023-26). The objective of the session was to get the students acquainted with the Vision & Mission of the college, Founder members and their role in establishing education institutions, and also the Jayantian Code of Conduct of the college. The speaker shared the importance of dress code, grooming and campus culture.

Kristu Jayanti College requires all students to act as responsible citizens and members of a higher education academic community. Each student is responsible to know, observe, abide by, and adhere to the College's student code of conduct, policies, rules, and regulations. Students must comply with all policies applicable to conduct in the classroom as well as in the campus.

Kristu Jayanti College welcomed their first-year UG students (Batch 2023) to the campus and oriented them on various aspects of a student’s life and the opportunities provided to the students to foster growth and development. The session was helpful in giving the students a right start for the academic year. The session was interactive and invited an open discussion with the students.


Value Added Course on Human Values and Professional Ethics

Human Values and Professional Ethics are essential principles that guide individuals in their personal lives and professional careers. They provide a frame work for making decisions, behaving ethically and maintaining a sense of integrity. These concepts are crucial for fostering a harmonious society and ensuring that individuals and organizations act responsibly and morally. Human Values and Professional Ethics contribute to personal and professional growth by enhancing self-awareness, building trust and credibility, creating a positive work environment and contributing to society. The VAC course would facilitate the development of young minds through infusion of right attitudes and behaviours that becomes essential for their holistic living.

The Department of Professional Accounting and Finance conducted Value Added Courses for I Semester B. Com students titled "Human Values and Professional Ethics " for the academic Year 2023 – 2024.The objective of the program is to impart morals and values among students and to introduce the importance of professional ethics for better career development. The sessions were conducted from3rd August 2023 to 9th August 2023 on various topics including Salient Values for Life, Attitude and Will power, Building and Nurturing Effective Relationships, Stress Management and Mental Wellness and Introduction to Professional Ethics. The content was effectively delivered with the help of power point presentations and various activities were conducted. VAC exams were conducted for the I B. Com professional students through the Learning Management System of the college on 18th August 2023. Certificates were issued to the eligible candidates.


Value Added course Professional Success Navigator of Excellence
Date: 26th July 2023 to 1st August 2023
Education sector in India and across the globe has seen tremendous development. Achieving academic brilliance through innovation, industry integration and internationalization can build long term holistic implications in the area of teaching learning. The curriculum coupled with value added courses can construct the backbone of the rigorous academic programmes. Integration of sustainable practices for attainment of academic excellence through value added programmes help in leveraging the talent, skills and innovative capabilities of the budding professionals. The value-added programs supplements students learning and enhances their skill sets bringing in greater preparedness to meet the challenges of professional life.

The Department of Professional Accounting and Finance successfully conducted Value Added Courses (VAC) titled “Professional Success Navigator of Excellence" for the academic year 2023 – 2024, targeted towards II B.Com professional students.

The primary objective of this program was to bridge the gap between campus education and the requirements of the corporate world. The sessions took place from 26th July 2023 to 1st August 2023, covering a diverse range of topics. These topics included the Basics of Excel, Presentation Skills, Communication Skills, 5Q’s (Five Quotient), Higher Education, and Employability Skills.

The faculty members facilitated various classroom activities, providing practical demonstrations of the application of Excel software for organizing data effectively. Emphasis was also placed on the significance of strong Presentation and Communication skills, with students being trained on techniques for effective communication and delivering impactful presentations.

During the course, the concept of the 5 Q’s of life was extensively discussed, enabling students to develop a holistic understanding of their personal and professional aspirations. Furthermore, the program provided valuable insights into job opportunities both within India and abroad, as well as information on pursuing higher education to enhance employability prospects and plan future career paths.

To assess the students' understanding and knowledge gained from the VAC, exams were conducted through the Learning Management System of the college on 2nd August 2023. Upon successful completion of the program, eligible candidates will receive certificates acknowledging their participation and achievement in the “Professional Success Navigator of Excellence " Value Added Course.


Professional Ethics and Values
The Department of Professional Accounting and Finance conducted Value Added Courses for I B.Com professional students titled "Professional Ethics and Values" for the academic Year 2022 – 2023.

The objective of the program is to introduce the importance of professional ethics for better career development, to impart morals and values among students, to acquaint them with the need for stress management in work place to understand the ways for work place stress management and to promote mental health and well-being among the students. The sessions were conducted from 18th August 2022 to 27th August 2022 on various topics, including Basics of professional ethics, moral values, stress management in work place, Employee relationship management, mental health and well-being. Various activities were conducted in the class rooms to make learning an enjoyable experience. VAC exams were conducted for the I B.Com professional students through the Learning Management System of the college on 27th August 2022.
Certificates will be issued to the eligible candidates.


Professional Skills for the Corporate world
The Department of Professional Accounting and Finance conducted Value Added Courses for II B.Com professional students titled "Professional skills for the Corporate World" for the academic Year 2022 – 2023.

The objective of the program is to prepare the students for the corporate world by bridging the gap between the campus and the corporate. The sessions were conducted from 4th August 2022 to 16th August 2022 on various topics, including Basics of Excel, Presentation skills, Communication Skills, 5Q’s, Higher education and employability skills. Various activities were conducted in the class room to demonstrate students the usage of excel software in organizing data The importance of Presentation and Communication skills were also stressed upon and tips for effective communication and Presentations were also taught. The 5 Q’s of life were also discussed at great length. Job opportunities as well as Higher education opportunities in India and abroad were also discussed to improve employability and prepare the students to plan their future. VAC exams were conducted for the II B.Com professional students through the Learning Management System of the college on 16th August 2020. Certificates will be issued to the eligible candidates.

They were briefed on the framework of the VAC Courses, the expected outcomes, VAC curriculum, syllabus, faculty allocation and work load, teaching pedagogy and VAC time table .The following VAC courses have been introduced.

III BCOM: Building Professional Competitiveness.
