Retrace - Meet Your Alumni on Navigating Career Paths

On March 28, 2025, the Department of Management organized a highly engaging alumni interaction titled Retrace - Navigating Career Paths for the BBA II semester students of section A, D & E. At the interaction, distinguished alumna Ms. Reeshma Nair, from the BBM 2007-2010 batch and currently a Senior Marketing Associate at Infosys, served as the resource person. The session commenced by emphasizing the value of learning from alumni experiences and how such engagements help bridge the gap between academic learning and professional development. Ms. Reeshma Nair delivered an insightful talk that captivated the students. Drawing from her professional journey, Ms. Reeshma Nair highlighted the significance of participating in departmental and institutional activities. She shared how her involvement in extracurriculars during college helped her develop essential skills such as leadership, time management, and collaboration attributes that have been invaluable in her corporate career. She also underscored the importance of maintaining a systematic approach to activities, assignments, and academic responsibilities. Ms. Nair elaborated on how adhering to a structured routine in college, meeting deadlines, and staying organized facilitated a smooth transition into the professional world. The discipline she cultivated in managing her academic commitments, she noted, proved to be a crucial asset in navigating the demands of the corporate environment. She also stressed on the importance for students to develop their professional skills for corporate success.


Rekindle
On February 3, 2024, Saturday, the Department of Management organized an alumni batch gathering under the banner Rekindle for the BBA 2017 – 2020 and BBA 2018 – 2021 batches. The event was held in the offline format at Auditorium A2 of the Admin block. 43 alumni members registered and participated. The meet commenced at 10:30 AM, with a warm welcome by Mr. Suku Thomas Samuel. He discussed the alumni association's activities and encouraged alumni to contribute to the Department's and institution's development. Mr. Surendranath Reddy addressed the present alumni, highlighting the Department's changes over time. Alumni shared their experiences, and the meeting concluded with refreshments and a campus tour. Overall, it was a memorable experience for both the Department and the alumni members.

Retrace – Meet Your Alumni
The Department of Management second edition of Retrace, alumni interaction on 24 September 2022, Saturday for the students of of BBA I semester. Mr. Jonathan John (Alumni BBA Batch 2014 - 17) Sales Development Manager, Almabase and Ms. Shivali V G (Alumni BBA Batch 2017 - 20) Advanced TAX Analyst, EY GDS, Bengaluru were invited as resource person for the interaction. Mr. Jonathan John shared his testimony on the role of Department in shaping his career and personality. He ran the students through the talk titled ‘You got an email’. He spoke about the essence of writing skill and why it is important to write good emails. He shared tips on composing a good email. Ms. Shivali V G shared her experience on the role of Kristu Jayanti College and Department in shaping her personality. She motivated the students to participate in all possible activities of the Department and the college. The students were happy and positive on the impact of the interaction.


New Alumni Interaction Series - Retrace
The Department of Management commenced a new alumni interaction series by the name Retrace. The first edition of the event was hosted on 27 August 2022, Saturday between 9:00 AM and 10:30 PM at M1 Auditorium, First floor, Main Block. Mr. Kamal S, Manager - Kumarapark Branch, State Bank of India, alumni of BBM Batch 2008 – 2011 and Ms. Kikayangla Longkumer, Assistant Manager - Audit, Grant Thornton LLP, alumnus of BBM Batch 2013 – 2016 were invited as the resource persons. The interaction was organized for the students of BBA I Semester. 642 students participated in the interaction. Ms. Kikayangla Longkumer spoke about the importance of the participating in the events and the activities hosted by the Department. She also stated that it is important for the students to have good academic and attendance percentages. She also narrated the role of the Department and the College in shaping her career. Mr Kamala spoke on the importance of the spirit of entrepreneurship and its impact on the economy. He advised the I semester students to learn new skills and keep growing in their careers. Mr Kamal also took questions from the students regarding career planning. The students of BBA I semester found the interaction to be very useful and beneficial.
