International Lecture Series on “Leadership & Self Reflection”
Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru invited Dr. Antonio Esqueda Flores for an International Lecture Series on Leadership & Self Reflection for VI Semester BBA Students of B section on 09th February, 2024 from 1:40 PM to 2:30 PM by interacting with the students in the class A203. The lecture session was handled by Dr. Antonio Esqueda Flores, Senior Director, International Students’ Services, Division at City University of Seattle, Washington, United States. The session on Leadership & Self Reflection aims to enhance the student’s leadership skills and knowledge and focus on the self-reflection formulas and its significance in the real life. The session started with a brief introduction of the resource person Dr. Antonio Esqueda Flores who then took over the session. Dr. Antonio Esqueda Flores addressed the students in the classroom and then questioned the students about the importance of 5W’s focusing on leadership, self-reflection, and storytelling connecting them together and how it is important to make it a part of our lives. He discussed the role of leadership in creating a competitive edge.

The lecture explored how students can utilize the importance of storytelling in their daily lives to meet the requirements set by the businesses and the real world. He also delved into the challenges and opportunities associated with the same. The lecture discussed the importance of self-reflection and effective strategies. He also gave the students an idea of how it works in business and made the class interactive and knowledgeable. He delivered an insightful and enlightening lecture on this critical aspect of Leadership. This lecture not only reaffirmed the enduring relevance of the leadership & self-reflection but also shed light on its evolution in the modern business landscape.


Adjunct Faculty Expert Session On Marketing And Services Management by Dr. Kalaimagal G, Konkola Copper Mines, Vedanta Group, Zambia
Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru invited Adjunct Faculty for an Expert Session on Services Management for III Semester BBA Students of A section on 20th October, 31st October, 2nd November & 6th November 2023 from 9 am to 11am through online session via zoom. The session started by a silent prayer followed by the welcoming of resource person. The purpose of this online session was to introduce BBA students to the concept of services management. The online lectures series were based on various service management concepts like Gap Model, Marketing Mix of services, and Service Sector Model etc. During the session, BBA students were asked various questions on service and different service and marketing. Topics like 7Ps of Marketing, Marketing Mix etc where covered.

The session was throughout guided by the resource person Dr.Kalaimagal and Prof. Somasundaram T. Their guidance throughout the session was outstanding. There explanations, demonstrations, and feedback were clear, concise, and insightful, which helped students to gain a much deeper understanding of the subject matter as a result.

Students were able to understand various concepts of marketing. Various marketing models were applied to day to day services and students could apply it to their practical lives. Students could come up with their own innovative ideas for marketing.


Management Conclave on HR, Marketing and Finance
Date: 26 October 2023
Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru organized “Management Conclave on HR, Marketing and Finance” for the final year BBA students on 26th October 2023. The session was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Jais V Thomas, Financial Administrator, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru. It highlighted the importance of knowing the recent trends in the different fields, facilitating them for learning purposse and developing the competencies in the respective domain. A Management Conclave on HR, Marketing and Finance is a dynamic and interactive gathering that serves as a platform for the students to explore, discuss and share insights on the latest trends, challenges and innovations in business management. These management conclaves typically feature three technical sessions with a lineup of renowned speakers and experts who provide valuable insights and perspectives on current and future developments in HR, Marketing and Finance.

Technical Session 1: Title: Fintech and its Applications
Resource Person: Mr. Gethin George, Co-Founder, Creditsutra, Bangalore.
The first technical session was handled by Mr. Gethin George, Co-Founder, Creditsutra, Bangalore who gave insights about the concept of Fintech and its major applications in the different area. The session focused more on the integration of technology in the field of finance, and he explained about Digital Payment, Digital Cash, UPI, etc. He explained how Fintech is revolutionizing banking, payments, lending, insurance and wealth management, among other financial sectors. It makes financial services more accessible to underserved and unbanked populations worldwide. He pointed out the regulatory environment and challenges that Fintech companies and traditional financial institutions face.

This session helped the students to understand how Fintech innovations are creating new business models, enhancing customer experiences and optimizing financial processes. It also highlights the growing importance of collaboration between traditional financial institutions and Fintech startups to drive industry growth and innovation.

Technical Session 2: Title: Modern Practices in HR
Resource Person: Mr. Sen B Mathews, Director – Centre for Employability & Corporate Relations (CECR), Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bangalore.
The second technical session was handled by Mr. Sen B Mathews, Director – Centre for Employability & Corporate Relations (CECR), and he explored the latest trends and innovations in the field of HR management. He examined the cutting-edge strategies for sourcing, recruiting and retaining top talent in a competitive job market. He interacted with the students and asked about the basic meaning and concepts of Human Resource Management. The session explored data analytics and technology in HR decision-making, from performance evaluations to workforce planning. He discussed about the leadership and talent development programs in organizations that empower employees and foster a culture of continuous learning. Finally, he insisted the students to explore the latest HR software, tools and platforms, streamlining HR processes and improving efficiency.

It provided students with a fresh perspective on HR management and equipped them with the tools and knowledge needed to adapt to the evolving needs of organizations and their workforce. It gave knowledge about HR professionals and their transformation according to the current trends and their adaptability to shifting the landscape of the workplace.

Technical Session 3: Title: Changing Role of Digital Marketing
Resource Person: Mr. Aditya Shanker, Content Editor, Microsoft.
The third technical session was handled by Mr. Aditya Shanker, Content Editor, Microsoft, who talked about the significance of digital marketing in different sectors. He discussed the evolving landscape of digital marketing strategies and techniques. He explained the influence of social media platforms, trends and best practices for building brand presence and driving engagement. The session highlighted SEO strategies and how they evolve with changing search engine algorithms and the importance of visibility. It addressed the significance of devices in marketing strategies, including mobile app marketing and mobile-responsive websites. Students gained a deeper understanding of how digital marketing is evolving to meet the demands of an increasingly digital practicality and privacy conscious consumer base. This conclave sheds light on the latest trends and innovations in the field and learned about the recent digital marketing practices.


Expert Lecture on Marketing & Services management

Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, Bengaluru invited Professor of Practice for an Expert Lecture on Marketing & Services Management for III Semester BBA Students of A section on 30th September, 3rd October & 5th October 2023 from 9 am to 11am in the classroom A 206, Admin Block. The Expert Lecture session was handled by Mr. Richie Mathew, HR & Operations – Head, RR Polymers, Bengaluru. The session on Marketing Mix aims to enhance the student’s marketing skills and knowledge and focus on the 4P’s of Marketing and its significance in each market segment. The session started with a brief introduction of the resource person Mr. Richie Mathew who then took over the session. Mr. Richie Mathew addressed the gathering and then questioned the students about marketing management, promotion and how it is important to make it a part of the business. He gave a brief introduction about his business and talked about promotion. He discussed the role of product design, quality and innovation in creating a competitive edge.

The lecture explored how businesses can set competitive prices that balance profitability with consumer expectations and also delved into the challenges and opportunities associated with reaching consumers through these diverse platforms. The lecture discussed the importance of integrated marketing communication, content marketing and effective promotional strategies. He also gave the students an idea of how advertisement works in business and made the class interactive and knowledgeable. He delivered an insightful and enlightening lecture on this critical aspect of marketing. This lecture not only reaffirmed the enduring relevance of the marketing mix but also shed light on its evolution in the modern business landscape.

Professor of Practice Expert Lecture on the Marketing Mix provided valuable insights into this foundational concept. It reminded us that while the core principles of the marketing mix remain unchanged, the application and implementation of these principles have evolved with the times. Students gained knowledge on promotion, advertising and marketing mix. During the session, students interacted actively and gathered information on how promotion works in a business and why it is important for a business growth. This session helped the students to understand the importance of promoting business through advertisement, publicity, public relations etc. Students were asked to perform group activity of coming up with a product and making ads for 2 minutes and promoting their product. Students showed lots of interest and performed with great interest and applied their knowledge and skills.


Navigating Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs): A Faculty Enrichment Odyssey

A session on IPRs “Navigating Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs): A Faculty Enrichment Odyssey” was organized by the Department of Management on 19th of August, 2023. This lecture was organized keeping in mind the skill enhancement of faculty members toward filing patents. The resource person efficiently sailed through his knowledge of publishing patents. He shared his experiences during the session which gave the attendees an insight about the process. Dr. Singh shared personalized examples during the online program.


Expert Lecture On Mastering Scholarly Publishing (Mastering Scholarly Publishing: Strategies for Success in Technical)

A session on “Mastering Scholarly Publishing: Strategies for Success in Technical Books, Journals and Conferences” was organized by the Department of Management. This lecture was organized keeping in mind the skill development sessions required by the faculty members to publish in reputed journals. The resource person efficiently sailed through the knowledge of publishing in technical books, book chapters, journals, and conference proceedings. He shared his experiences as a publisher during the session which gave the attendees an insight about the publication process.


Hands-on Training Session
Date: 15 April 2023
Department of Management organized Hands-on Training Session on 15/04/2023. The session started with a silent prayer followed by the welcoming of resource person Dr. Ayshwarya B. The purpose of this lab session was to introduce BBA students to the concept of Data Warehousing and Data Mining and provide hands-on experience using Anaconda Navigator. The lab session was conducted using Anaconda Navigator, which is an open-source distribution for data science and machine learning. The system in the lab had the required package of Anaconda Navigator. These packages included pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, and sci-kit-learn.

During the session, BBA students were asked to create a sample dataset using Microsoft Excel. They were then able to use Spyder, which is a popular IDE widely used in the data science community and available in Anaconda Navigator, to explore the dataset. Various data exploration techniques, such as data visualization and statistical analysis, were used to gain insights and identify patterns in the data. This enabled students to practice and develop their data analysis and modeling skills.

The session was guided by the resource person Dr. Ayshwarya B and Prof. Somasundaram T. Their guidance throughout the session was outstanding. Their explanations, demonstrations, and feedback were clear, concise, and insightful, which helped students to gain a much deeper understanding of the subject matter as a result.


Conclave in the area of Aviation
Date: 25 March 2023
The Department of Management organized a Conclave in the area of Aviation on 25th March 2023 for Aviation students in A1 Auditorium (Admin Block). Dr. Ananda C. M, Head, CSIR- National Aerospace Laboratories was the resource person of the first session. In his lecture, Mr. Ananda explained the varieties of indigenous aircraft like Hansa and Saras. He also explained the upcoming technologies behind aircraft. Mr. Suresh Khadakhbhavi, Assistant Vice President, Innovation Lab, Bangalore International Airport Limited was the resource person for the second session. He enlightened students on how the innovation lab at BIAL works and also introduced the DigiYatra application which is the latest innovation in the Indian aviation sector. He demonstrated the working of the application in detail. The sessions ended with Q & A session. The participants learned what is the current trends and challenges in the aviation industry. Students were also made clear about the various opportunities they are having in the aviation sector.


Expert Lecture on “Data Mining process of online marketplaces”
Date: 21 April 2023
Department of Management organized an expert lecture on “Data Mining process of online marketplaces” on 21st April 2023 on the online platform and the resource person was “Mr. K. Panayappan, Operations Manager, Amazon, Chennai”. The lecture was likely focused on the various techniques and processes involved in data mining for online marketplaces. The Resource Person Mr. Panayappan provided an overview of data mining, including its definition, importance, and relevance to online marketplaces. The session covered the various methods of collecting data, such as web scraping, API integration, and other data extraction techniques. He emphasized on the importance of data quality and its impact on the effectiveness of data mining. The processing of data after collection was discussed in the lecture, including data cleaning, transformation, and integration. Mr. Panayappan has provided examples of how data processing can help to identify patterns and trends in the marketplace. The analysis of data using various techniques such as clustering, association rules, and decision trees might have been covered in the lecture. He discussed how data analysis can be used to improve business processes, and customer experiences, and identify new opportunities. The session included examples of how data mining is applied in online marketplaces, such as product recommendations, pricing strategies, and targeted advertising. International Lecture Series
Date: 02 March 2023
Department of Management organized an International Lecture Series on 2nd March 2023. The program started with an invocation song sung by the college choir. International Lecture Series”, this expert session is specially designed for final year BBA students to understand how important it is to stay level-headed, make correct decisions, etc., in the future by understanding future education opportunities at the University of Information Technology and Management. Mrs. Magdalena Louis, Director for International Collaboration and Recruitment, Presidential Representative for International Collaboration, and Mr. Tuna Dalaman, Specialist for International Collaboration and Recruitment, and Lecture on Aviation Management, was the resource person of the day. The prelude of the session was given by Mrs. Magdalene Louis who spoke about the multicultural environment at the University of Information Technology and Management, Poland.

Mr. Tuna Dalaman gave a brief insight into the courses offered by the university, the location of the university, and many more. He also spoke about the wide variety of industries at Rzeszow. To conclude, resource persons motivated all the students about the importance of having higher education. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks and the college anthem sung by the college choir.


Guest lecture on Social Media and crime

Department of Management organized a guest lecture on Social Media and crime. It is a global issue, Individual safety, privacy and dignity are all at risk because of the dangers offered by social media. Cyberstalking has also been estimated to be a prevalent offense on social media. The guest lecture was handled by Dr. Don Caerio Assistant Professor, Coordinator of Forensic Science Kristu Jayanti College Bengaluru on 21.02.2023 at 12-12.50 pm for marketing students and HR students at A1Audi Admin Block. Prof. Don shared real-life incidents to make students understand how social media and crime are interrelated. Adopting new technology will definitely enhance the access of young minds to creativity and it brings a lot of responsibility along with it. The Government is running many awareness campaigns to make youth understand their responsibility towards themselves and society.


Digital Marketing trends

Digital Marketing trends are the key changes in the strategic direction of the digital marketing landscape that impact the way marketers should interact with their target audience.

Traditional marketing is restricted to geography but digital marketing will give the international platform to marketers to reach the target audience. The guest lecture was handled by Dr. A. John William Assistant Professor, School of Management, Kristu Jayanti College Bengaluru on 14.02.2023 at 12-12.50 pm for marketing students and HR students at A1Audi Admin Block.

Dr. John shared real-life situations faced in digital marketing firms by giving different scenarios Adopted by digital firms and the most popular technique adopted by the firm. The guest lecture on recent trends in digital marketing helped the student community to understand the importance, usage, and adapting needs of the business.


Workshop on Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Innovation Design
Department of Management organized a workshop on February 07, 2023. The workshop was held from 9:00 am to 9:50 am. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. D Ravindran, Assistant Professor, School of Management. The workshop mainly focused on Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Innovation Design. The main focus of this workshop is to enable students with innovative ideas related to critical thinking and Design Thinking. The resource person was successfully able to deliver the desired content in the time frame. The workshop could actively deliver how to launch new products in the market using creativity and in an efficient way possible. How to design a new product, and how to effectively communicate the relative worth of the launched product based on various concepts like Boston’s Consultancy Group Model was made very clear and precise. On a whole, the workshop was a collaborative learning session for all the participants where each one was familiarized with certain concepts that hold significance in the long run. The workshop was an effective one as it also contributes to being a part of the course in the sixth semester. Such workshops impart a true sense of making classroom learning even more interesting and also develop in oneself the real essence of a collaborative type of learning.


Expert Talk on “Exploring the Investment Opportunities in Capital Market”
Department of Management organized an Expert Talk on “Exploring the Investment Opportunities in Capital Market”, on 7th February 2023 at 11.00 am. The main objective of this talk is to create awareness among youngsters about the stock market and explore the different investment avenues in the stock market. The resource person of the day Mr. Praveen M, address the gatherings by briefing them about the stock market and the growth of the market over a period of time. He also emphasis the importance of investment and the role of compounding in investment in investment decisions. He explains the different investment options like equity, debt, Futures and Options, different schemes on mutual funds, and the student-level investment option of SIP. He talked about the procedure and systematic way for investment. The different schemes of India Infoline Limited and the advantages of those schemes were also discussed among the students. Students were given a chance to open the Demat account with no processing charges. Students were more motivated and enthusiastically asked various questions and get them clarified.


Expert Session on “Mental Health and Wellness of Gen Z Learners”
Department of Management organized an expert session on “Mental Health and Wellness of Gen Z Learners” specially designed for final year BBA students to understand how important it is to stay level-headed, make correct decisions, etc. in the future by understanding mental health and wellness. Dr. Sojan Anthony, Associate Professor at NIMHANS, was the resource person of the day. The prelude of the session was given by Dr. Jonas Richard, Professor & Head PG & Research Department of Social Work and Director, Center for Life Skills Education (CLSE) who emphasized mental health and wellness by giving live everyday examples. The resource person began by introducing a bit of his work to the students, as well as telling the students that the truth of life is that the world that we want must be created for us. He further elucidated the different types of stress and how it occurs. It was an interactive session where students actively participated by giving their perspectives on the topic. The speaker also introduced the neurochemistry of the brain and how the brain is designed to make one feel pleasure, or better, i.e. the reward circuit.

The resource person addressed alcohol and substance abuse and how it could affect the daily life of an individual. He emphasized that life is a choice and that we need to find the correct foundations. As the end of the session approached, he talked about where to find seek support for mental health problems. He elucidated the importance of appreciating oneself by the end of the day and how it could work wonders. To conclude his talk, he gave the students six mantras of life to follow to avoid stress. The session came to an end with a vote of thanks and the college anthem sung by the college choir.


Expert talk “VENTURE SUCCESS”
Department of Management organised an expert talk “VENTURE SUCCESS” on 22nd November 2022 at 3.00 pm with the aim of Connecting Theory with Practice. The program was started with silent prayer. “VENTURE SUCCESS” this is specially designed for final year BBA students to get ground actuality happenings in business. Raakesh Guptha is a passionate entrepreneur and hard worker and well known person among pharma related business people and Doctors through his medicine with the brand of Ethnics Pharma, would be the resource person of the day. One to One discussions with students were excellently gone well. Students can learn and enhanced their knowledge through sharing of his question and answer session with practical exposure and experience by resource person.

Expert Lecture was ended with the Q & A followed by the feedback received. Students learnt lot about business strategies, difficulties, methods, marketing and mantras for successful business. Participants enjoyed the session with more discussion and they understood the real time marketing struggles, success strategies and how to handle and overcome the competitors. Students also interested and flashed their minds.


Workshop on "Beyond Fear and Brand Stories"
Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College, had organized a workshop on "Beyond Fear and Brand Stories" on 29th September 2022 in A1 Auditorium from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The resource person for the workshop was Mr Pratish Nair Founder and Managing Director of The Prahlad Kakar School of Branding and Entrepreneurship. The fifth semester BBA students were the beneficiaries for the workshop. The session emphasized on branding, decision making and overcoming fear to be a successful individual. Various activities were given to the students for self-assessment and motivation. The workshop gave thrust on how networking will help for personal branding. Students were given opportunity to share their experiences. The session was interactive and each student was involved in one or the other activities to enhance their confidence and develop themselves as a brand. The workshop was very interactive. The students were actively involved in various exercises enhance their confidence and develop themselves as a brand.


Webinar on Infosys Springboard
The department of management organised a webinar for II year BBA students on 9th September 2022 to make them aware about Infosys Springboard at 9.30am in SKE Auditorium.The resource person of the day was Ms. Girija - Senior Analyst learning and Ms. Pruthvi – Senior Associate learning. The department welcomed the guests by giving them saplings. The session started with introduction of Springboard by Ms. Pruthvi. . It is a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative by Infosys which provides free online courses to everyone in India starting from the age group of 12.

Ms. Girija explained in detail about Springboard being an online platform with its own website. She motivated the students to register online so that the students can directly access to the courses provided on it. The platform provides 12000+ courses with certifications which help students in future placements. The courses also included various skills like business skills, professional skills etc. which seemed of my interests. Springboard also provides students with internships based on certain assessments which will help them to boost their resume.

Lastly, they concluded by making students enthusiastic to join the courses provided in the Springboard and make full use of it.


Guest Lecture on Contemporary Trends in Aviation Management
Aviation is a proof that given, the will, we have the capacity to achieve the impossible. The Department of Management organised a guest lecture on Contemporary Trends in Aviation Management on 15th September 2022. Shri. K. Giriprakash, Aviation Editor, Business Line, The Hindu was the chief guest of the session. The session started with a welcome note by Ms. Sujasca Dias. The participants were students of BBA Aviation Management and BBA Tourism and Hospitality Management. In his Guest lecture, Mr. Giriprakash explained the current trends and the future course of developments in the aviation industry. He also mentioned the story of the Downfall of Kingfisher Airlines. Mr. Vijay Raghavan, Assistant Manager, Sales and Distribution, THG Publishing, The session ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ishma Sakina Fernandez of V BBA Aviation management. The guest lecture was ended with the Q & A followed by the feedback received. The participants learnt what is the current trends and challenges in aviation industry. Students were also made clear about the various opportunities they are having in the aviation sector


Recent trends in Aviation Industry
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the airline industry due to travel restrictions and decimation in demand among travelers. Now the question everyone is having is how the industry is going to come out of the pandemic impact. The session was on Recent trends in Aviation Industry. We started the session with silent prayer. Ms. Aiswarya Babu. N, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College had delivered the welcome address. Ms. Aneeta Sara Binu of VI BBA AM introduced the resource person Mr. Muralidas Menon, Regional General Manager, Go Air, addressed about how airline industry is coming out of the covid-19 impacts and what the trend are these days in aviation industry. He also explained various job opportunities Aviation Management graduates are having in the industry. The guest lecture was ended with the Q & A followed by the feedback received. The participants learnt how aviation industry is coming out of the impact of Covid-19 by various strategies. Students were also made clear about the various opportunities they are having in the aviation sector.


webinar on Union budget 2022- A way Forward
The Department of Management organized a webinar for the final year BBA Students on “Union budget 2022- A way Forward” on 26th February 2022. The major aim of the programme is to enlighten the students about the highlights of the budget presented by the Central finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman on Feb 1st. The session focuses on providing a futuristic view of the current budget and its relevance in the economy. The Guest speaker of the session was Mr. Harsh Kothari, Chartered Accountant, Senior Manager, Ernst & Young, Mumbai India. Every year On 1st February the Central finance minister presented the Budget in the parliament with regard to it Ms. Nirmala Sitaraman the current finance minister of India Presented her second paperless budget on the sais date. With this regard the department organized a webinar on the Budget 2022 to provide students an insight about the current and future view of the Budget session. The speaker Mr. Harsh shared his views about the budget 2022 on how it is going to benefit the people and the common man of the society. Mr. Harsh also spoke about the various investment opportunities available to the investors in the market, he also briefed the students on how they can scatter the investment opportunity with regard to tax planning. Mr. Harsh also spoke about cryptocurrency investment and the tax procedure applicable on it. He also briefed about how cryto will be a beneficial investment for an individual in the future and the role of crypto currency in handling inflation was also clearly explained. The session ended up with interaction by the students clarifying their doubts on investment and future financial planning.


HR-Conclave –“Connecting… Campus to corporate
HR-Conclave –“Connecting… Campus to corporate” was organized in association with NIPM, Karnataka Chapter. Resource persons from three different industries were acted as speaker on the day. Programme was started with Invocation prayer, welcome address by Prof. Surrendranath Reddy, Presidential address by Father Lijo.P.Thomas, Financial Administrator and end the programme by vote of Thanks delivered by Dr.K.Jagannathan. The keynote speakers are Vikram Sharma, Vice President - HR, Strides Pharma, Bengaluru, Renuka Murthy, Head of Compensation and Benefits at Autoliv India Private Limited, Bengaluru and Dinesh A U, Director - Human Resources & Admn. at Rittal India, Bengaluru.

The learning experience is greatly enhanced when the academic rigor in classrooms is supported by different forms of active learning. webinar on “Overview of Stock Market and Career Growth"
Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), organized a webinar on “Overview of Stock Market and Career Growth” for final year BBA Students on 16th November 2021in virtual mode. The stock market is an effective investment platform, and stock broking is one of the best opportunities to start their own income with less investment. With this intention, the programme was organized to create awareness of the stock market and explore the stockbroking opportunity avenue among the students to improve their career path.

The resource person for the day was Dr. Prabhakar, a passionate financial investment platform trainer. The resource person explained all aspects of the stock market from the foundational ideas. Students listened to him carefully with interest and received a thorough knowledge of the stock market. The programme ensured that the students could find the possibilities of stock broking opportunity for their own investment and income opportunity. The resource person also conducted a demo session on online sales and shared purchases through his account, which became helpful to the students to better understand the stockbroking systems and strategy through that live session.

The webinar ended with a Q & A session followed by a feedback session. The participants learnt a lot about the stock market, how to purchase and sell the share online. They understood the importance of stockbroking and creating income online with less investment, which helped the student’s community improve their career plans.


Webinar on Confab on Marketing- Face to Face with Brand
The Department of Management organized a webinar on Confab On Marketing- Face To Face With Brand on 13th September 2021 for the final year BBA Students. The main objective of this webinar was to enhance the marketing knowledge through sharing of real time experience and to instigate the students community to take part in entrepreneurial pathway.

The session was on ‘Mantra in Marketing. We started the session with silent prayer. Pranjal from BBA B Sem V delivered the welcome address. Rumana introduced the resource person, “FACE TO FACE WITH BRAND” this is specially designed for final year BBA students to get ground reality endeavors in Entrepreneurship and Marketing. V. R. MUTHU-a passionate entrepreneur who touched all the hearts of Tamilnadu with his Brand name “IDHAYAM OIL” was the resource person for the day and had one to one discussion with students in order to promote the entrepreneurial skills among students community. It was an enriching session for the students as the resource person shared his practical exposure and experience.

The webinar ended with the Q & A session followed by the feedback session. The participants learnt lot about marketing and strategies for successful business. The students enjoyed the session with discussions and understood the real time marketing struggles, success strategies and how to handle and overcome the competitors. Students were also motivated and sparked their minds to become an employer rather than employee. 327 Students benefitted from the Webinar.


Motivational session on “Master – Training as a Career”
Department of Management (BBA) in association with Centre of Soft Skills Training of Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru organized an motivational session on “Master – Training as a Career” for final year BBA – HR Specialization students on 27th March 2021 at 10.45 am through Zoom platform. The session aims to create awareness among the students about various platforms available to choose their career as a trainer. The session was moderated by Mr.Reon George, VI BBA student and given warm welcome and introduced the Resource person of this session Prof.T.Somasundaram, Assistant Professor, Department of Management & Staff Incharge, Centre for Soft Skills Training (CSST), Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru and handed the session over to him.

The resource person started the session with 3C’s required to reach training as a career and explained how the training helps to bridge the gap between existing and required skills among the students. Prof.T.Somasundaram stated the different types of trainer’s career available in the market and the students have to choose their choice to become a trainer in the respective domain. He pointed the concepts of training in different dimensions like coaching, teaching, mentor, learning, experience, development, soft skills, etc. among the students and insisted them to analyze their strength in the respective domain to become a trainer. In this session, the basic differences between hard and soft skills were explained and also demand for the training markets in global level. He narrated life story of various trainers, speakers, motivational speakers, monks, etc. and motivated them the students to take a chance as a trainer in their life. He mentioned the knowledge and skills required for each student to differentiate themselves and also pointed out several books to go through it in their career to become a Trainer. He shared the various training platforms like ISTD, IATD & JCI India to start their career as a trainer and informed the students to make use of it. Finally, Ms.Sarvya, VI BBA student given vote of thanks at the end of the session.

A total of 40 students from final year BBA – HR Specialization students took part in the motivational session. Students have interacted with the resource person and shared their views in choosing trainer as a career. Most the students are motivated by the resource person to take a chance for becoming trainer in their career. The participants are very interactive during Q & A session and enthusiastic towards the end of the session.

From this session, students got awareness about the training concepts, knowledge and skills required to become a trainer. This session helped the students to gain knowledge about various dimensions in training job, its demand and opportunities in the global market. Students got various information like platforms for training job, different types of trainers, few motivational books, etc. to choose trainer as a career. During the session, students interacted actively and got additional information about the training job and skills required for a trainer and enriching their career in new directions.


Orientation Program
The Department of Management conducted orientation program exclusively for II BBA students on 10th & 12th March 2021 from 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm in the Mini Auditorium I, Admin Block. The aim of this orientation program is to create awareness among the students about campus culture, code of conduct, examination & assessment methodology and TCS campus solution. The orientation program was inaugurated by Rev.Dr.Augustine George and welcomed the students to the campus and insisted each and everyone students to follow the campus culture and enrich their knowledge and skills for their better career.

Followed by that, Prof.Ajai Abraham & Prof.Suku Thomas explained the Jayantian Code of conduct and mentioning the criteria for academic excellence, student’s behavior, discipline & dissemination of information from authorized college sources.

Prof.C.Shilpa Rao & Dr.V.G.Jisha educated the students about the procedure and process of leave application and dress code and grooming part of the students followed in the campus.

Prof.Manjunath S & Prof.T.Somasundaram explained about various students supporting centers & committees, student council, infrastructure support & facilities provided to the students in order to enrich their skills and knowledge in all academic & co-curricular activities.

Prof.Jeo Joy, Controller of Examinations presented about the Examination & Assessment norms like details of credits, programme matrix and continuous internal evaluation methods followed by the college as per the norms of Bangalore North University. Prof.Bino Joseph, TCS iON Campus Solution Coordinator explains the process of TCS iON campus management solution used in the college. He insisted the students to access the campus management solution by using college mail id, CMS portal, Mobile App for various academic and co-curricular activities for the benefits of the students.

From this orientation session, students learned the campus culture and also known about the do’s and don’ts in the college. This session given lot of inputs regarding code of conduct, campus culture, dress code and leave application process and educated the students to incorporate in the campus. The students understood the norms of examination and assessment of BBA programme and also learned to access the campus management solution for updation of academic and co-curricular activities.


Webinar on Introduction to Capital Market
Department of Management organized a webinar on Introduction to capital market on 20th February 2021 at 10.30 am for IV BBA students. The main objective of the webinar is to create awareness among the students about the capital market and the earning opportunities in different levels. Students can obtain the great knowledge about the mode of operation of the capital market. This will help them know about the different players in the markets and their roles in the market. The programme will ignite the minds of students about what to do and what not to do while investing in the market. The fundamental way of analyzing the market and company will be clearly known to the students.

The session highlighted on the fact risk and the returns. Optimum risk and return lies at the particular place called as market. Till date predicting the market has its own difficulty for investors and others. On the other hand there is a myth which popularly prevailing in the minds of the people is share market is all about gambling. Nonetheless different false beliefs are occupied the minds of the people in India. It shows the awareness level of the people and result to only 2% of the total population are playing in the market.

Thus a small attempt has made in aligned with the curriculum to give the awareness about the capital market to the Business Administration Students. This will help the students to have a better understanding about practical happenings with the concepts in the books. The students can dive deep into the concepts moreover they can make an attempt to use this platform for the earning purpose as well in their near future.


Webinar “Redefining Higher Education in the New Normal”
The Department of Management Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous) Bangalore, organized a webinar “Redefining Higher Education in the New Normal” on 23rdJanuary 2021 at 11.00 a.m. using Zoom Video Conferencing portal. Prof Surendranath Reddy welcomed the Resource Person and the gathering. The session was presided over by Dr. Rupa Gunaseelan, Director, Bharathiar School of Management, Coimbatore. Ms Rupa Gunaseelan briefed about some of the educational implications of current uses of Artificial Intelligence as an aid in solving problems and accomplishing tasks. She also discussed the current and potential impact of AI on our educational system. She also emphasized the importance of technology and how it has created more equitable and accessible paths to education. She pointed out technology and innovation make students more globalized and interconnected, with the help of online books, audio content, images, and videos. She highlighted the significance of MOOC in the current situation. Instead of having access to one source, students have hundreds; instead of reading words in a book, educators can bring them to life in the form of videos; and instead of having to attend class in one specific location, students can now attend a class from anywhere in the world. She also emphasized that a teacher’s presence in a classroom is more important now than ever before, though the technology is redefining their role. The webinar helped the participants to understand that with the tremendous amount of information accessible to students today, educators may not serve as the primary presenter or lecturer, but they are essential guides helping students navigate the depth of knowledge and vast information now available.

Guest Lecture on "Nurturing an Entrepreneurial Mindset"
Department of Management organized a Guest lecture on December 19th 2020 at 9.00 am. The main objective is to inspire entrepreneurship among student and to identify factors that contribute to success when starting a business. Entrepreneurship is an important career development initiative to be nutured in students today. Based on inculcating entrepreneurship skills among students, this guest lecture was arranged. The resource person was Mr. Armugam C, entrepreneur and consultant. He is the founder of Agro Chakra International, Chennai, which is dealing with Cashew processing and retail and wholesale of dry fruits. The session began at 9-15 am, with a silent prayer and welcome address and profile reading of the resource person was done by Ms. Jisha Jogi, V semester BBA- D student. The resource person spoke on the nobleness of the entrepreneurship career in serving the society. He related his own experiences, about his career in the corporates., and experience in running a successful business. After the address by the resource person, the vote of thanks was given by Ms. Sravya of V semester BBA- D.The Student’s webinar ended with the Q & A followed by the feedback from the participants.


Virtual orientation session CGMA
The Department of Management organised an online orientation for the students of I BBA Section A of 2020 - 2023 batch on 18 December 2020. The orientation was conducted by Ms. Aaira Fathima, Manager – Operations of ISDC, Bangalore. Prof. Suku Smauel welcomed the gathering and the students. Prof. Surendranath Reddy, Head - Department of Management wished the students the very best. The roadmap of the course was explained to the students covering aspects such as the nature of delivery, study material and the mode of examination. The students were explained about the exemptions. During this time, the students clarified their doubts. The session was helpful for the students.


Guest Lecture on "Career Opportunities in Sports Industry"
Department of Management in collaboration with the Centre for Employability and Corporate Relations (CECR) organized the virtual session on 5th December 2020 at 10.45 am . The Speaker for the Guest lecture was CEO of Sporjo Mr. G. Srinivvasan. The objective of the session was to help the students to understand the various job roles and employment opportunity in the Sports Industry and encourage them to pursue what they really are passionate about.

The session started off with the welcome address by the Master of Ceremony Ms. P Srujana (III BBA AM), followed by the introduction of the resource person by Ms. Deeba Ahmed (III BBA BA). Mr. Srinivvasan emphasized mainly on the various critical skills required by candidates to create a good niche in the sports industry,like being a team player, enthusiastic, sportive. He stressed that mainly Passion, Personality, Proficiency leads to a good career in this industry and also the “Sporjo formula” for its members .

Mr. Srinivvasan filled in the students with valuable information regarding the various dynamic job roles available in this industry mainly categorized into operations, sales, Data & Analytics, , CRM, Marketing, Broadcast, etc.

Mr. Srinivvasan also told and showed a video about the credibility test available in his company which gives the candidates an idea of their potential and areas of improvement, the admission process of the company and what kinds of candidates his company looks for.

The Q & A session was very interactive, the students flooded the chat box with questions to the resource person, some of them regarding the scope of students in the sports industry, the packages offered and scope of part time jobs.


SWADHYAYA An interaction with Alumni "Career Planning and Guidance"
Alumni of a college are considered to be one of the most important pillars of the institution who carry the legacy of the institutions to stakeholders. Kristu Jayanti is proud to have educated thousands of students since its inception. The college has a good number of renowned alumni working across the globe who, continue to inspire us. One such alumnus, is Mr. Aneesh Chimmen, Assistant Vice President of Deutsche Bank. The main objective of this programme was to help students in understanding the importance of participation in a academic and to bridge the gap between industry, passion and education.

On 5th December, 2020, the students of Third year BBA, had the opportunity of interacting with a distinguished alumni. The meet started at 9:15 AM, through a virtual mode . The session started with a welcome speech. Mr. Annesh is currently working as Assistant Vice President of Deutsche Bank. He has 12 long years of experience working at with Deutsche bank, Prior to this Mr. Aneesh was working in HCL Operations. Mr. Aneesh started the session by sharing his experience at Kristu Jayanti and encouraged students also to share the experience in the open forum. During the session he shared his work experience with students and also spoke about the most difficult task he had to take up during his career. He also told students to always have a mentor for life so that it would help them to share their career path and provide suggestions which would motivate them to do better. When students asked him about the importance of specialisation Mr. Aneesh gave an insight that specializations are chosen by students based on their interest. He also gave an in –depth insight into the role of Human resource in an organisation and the different job specifications of an HR in an organisation as they are people responsible for finding the right person for the right job.

Students actively took part by interacting with the Alumni as the students were keen to now on what aspects they have to focus in order to get into investment management division of the company. Adding to it Mr. Aneesh also shared that internships are not mandatory to be completed by students but, it becomes an added advantage if a particular student completes internship. Mr. Aneesh also shared his own experience of how he faced interview after graduating and the lesson that he learned from each interview attended. Mr. Chimmen also motivated students that a PG Degree is always mandatory in the corporate world while looking for higher promotion in an organisation. The talk delivered by Mr. Aneesh Chimmen was a very big motivating factor for students to understand on how to meet challenges in career life and the ways to overcome failures.

The session was very interactive and insightful to the students. Mr. Aneesh motivated students to share their college life experience and then proceeded to provide insights on Career Planning and Guidance. He was very kind enough to answer all the questions that were asked. Mr.Aneesh’s inspirational talk made a tremendous impact on the students. The session on a whole was very motivating and inspiring session which encouraged students to understand the skills required to get into corporate world


Expert lecture on “Application of Artificial Intelligence”
Management (BBA) organized an Expert lecture on “Application of Artificial Intelligence” for third year BBA Business Analytics students to create apprehension regarding the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the field of business. Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machine that is programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving. The ideal characteristic of Artificial Intelligence is its ability to rationalize and take actions that have the best chance of achieving a specific goal. When most people hear the term Artificial Intelligence, the first thing they usually think of is robots. That’s because big-budget films and novels weave stories about human-like machines that wreak havoc on Earth. But nothing could be further from the truth. Artificial Intelligence is based on the principle that human intelligence can be defined in a way that a machine can easily mimic it and execute tasks, from the most simple to those that are even more complex. The goals of Artificial Intelligence include learning, reasoning, and perception.

Prof.C.Surendaranath Reddy, Head, Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College inaugurated the Expert Lecture, delivered the welcome address and gave an overview of Artificial Intelligence and its implementation in business. Miss.Sanaa introduced the resource person, Mr.Akshant Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, Virtuality India, Certified by NASSCOM. The session started with the connotation of Artificial Intelligence. He elucidated Human intelligence at the variance with Artificial Intelligence example: Human and Machine. Further, he defined the categories of Artificial Intelligence i.e. Weak A.I. and Strong A.I. . He briefly spoke of ‘Alan Turing’ who created the Turing test which is still used to determine the level of intelligence of a computer. Lastly, he briefed about Machine learning and different sectors in which Artificial Intelligence is used.

Students acquired awareness of various application areas of Artificial Intelligence, its advantages, and disadvantages. The active interest and enthusiasm of the students could be gauged by the level of interaction generated by the session.


Webinar on ‘Identifying Business Opportunities’
Department of Management (BBA) organized a webinar on ‘Identifying Business Opportunities’ for the final year BBA students at 9.15am on 19th September 2020. The webinar aimed to inculcate creative and smart ideas to nurture innovative business ideas. The session started with a silent prayer. Rumana Khan from BBA ‘B’, V semester Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College welcomed the gathering. Rumana introduced the resource person, Prof. Lavanya K, currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce and Management in C.B Bhandari Jain College, Bengaluru. She is a Rank holder in M.Com from Bangalore University. Prof. Lavanya K has strong inclination towards teaching and research. She spoke about the various opportunities an entrepreneur could look up to flourish and establish success in his or her prospective career. She also elaborated on solid case studies like ebay, Paytm, etc., to support the fact that “bigger problems, means bigger opportunities”.

Students’ webinar ended with the Q & A followed by feedback. The participants learnt to look at problems being a source of ideas for a successful business as a prospective entrepreneur. To identify the needs of the external environment is the first step for a business idea and this was witnessed in the webinar.


Guest Lecture on 'SELF-ACCEPTANCE’
Department of Management organized a guest lecture on 5th September 2020 at 9.00 am for III & V BBA students. The objective of this programme was to define self-acceptance and its manifestation and to identify factors that contribute to positive thoughts and low self-regard. The focus was on the cognitive theory of mindfulness and its importance in achieving unconditional self-acceptance. The current Pandemic Covid 19 has largely affected the minds of everyone. A person with Positive mind can change any situation favorable to him/her. The session was on ‘SELF-ACCEPTANCE’. The session started with a silent prayer. Ms. Jisha Jogi, Vth semester BBA Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College delivered the welcome address and introduced the resource person, Ms. Sathyapriya Sakarias, Counselling Psychologist, Research Scholar, and NLP Master Practitioner & Trainer. She works at the Academy of Life Skills, Bengaluru and is also an alumna of our college BBA department 2013-16. The session helped by reminding the flaws and unworthiness, but also how to live a fulfilling, serene, happy life. One must learn to love and accept themselves, flaws and all. This webinar covered the basics of self-acceptance, factors that contribute to a poor self-image and practical tips for loving yourself unconditionally. Students understood the need of accepting their uniqueness and living beyond their flaws. For the students it was a great learning experience. Students’ webinar ended with the Q & A followed by the feedback from the participants.


Expert Lecture on Physical Fitness and Mental Well Being
Fit India Movement is a nation-wide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. It was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi on 29 August 2019. 'Fit India Movement' aims to go beyond fitness. The motto of the Fit India Movement is to make Indians healthy and Fit. This movement encourages people to take healthy food and to maintain physical and mental Fitness.

On promotion of Fit India Movement, Department of Management (BBA) organized an Expert lecture titled “Physical Fitness & Mental Well-being” on 28th August 2020 at 3.30 pm for the second and third year BBA students. This expert lecture session was conducted in order to create awareness among the young minds to maintain healthy and prosperous life by including physical activities in their everyday routine. The Expert lecture was inaugurated by Prof.C.Surendaranath Reddy, Head, and Department of Management. Kristu Jayanti College. Delivering the welcome address he gave an overview of Fit India Movement and its importance. Dr .Geethu Anna Mathew introduced the resource person Dr.Vijayalakshmi Reddy, College of Nursing, NIMHANS, Bengaluru. She started the session with the famous quote “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body”, which is pertinent to the theme of ‘Fit India Movement’. She talked about various physical activities to be carried out in our daily lives in order to maintain our physical and mental health. She spoke about the impacts on mental well-being through physical activities and narrated the problems faced by the youngsters through irregular activities such as usage of mobile phone, consuming junk food, not carrying out any physical activities, etc.

She informed the students to try out various physical activities like, any kind of sports activities, yoga and meditation, or other physical activities, to reduce stress at the initial level and to maintain good physical and mental health in their lives. She shared her research experience among the students about the importance of doing physical activities and yoga that give a very balanced physical and mental well-being. Finally, she gave valuable tips to the students regarding maintaining of both physical and mental health based on the questions asked by the students.

Students gained a lot of knowledge on health, wellness and fitness. It encouraged the students to do exercises and to have a positive mindset and also to maintain their physical health, which is very important. It was a great experience to learn about the importance of mental and physical health, social interaction and physical fitness during this pandemic. This session made students to realize the importance of mental health and how it must be treated and how to take care of one’s mental health.

Students gained an insight about their fitness and how to carry out yoga every day to be fit and healthy. Students understood the importance of Yoga and some exercises, which should be a part of our daily routine in order to have a balanced State of mind. 444 students benefited from this programme.


Online Webinar on Individual Social Responsibility in Covid – 19 World
The Department of Management had organized online webinar for students on the topic “Individual Social Responsibility in Covid – 19 World” on 27th June 2020 from 03.00 pm to 04.00 pm through zoom app. The objective of this webinar is to provide an insight to youth for re-inviting the roles and responsibilities of an individual in pandemic situation.

The webinar aims to discuss the various challenges one has to face in the COVID – 19 World. This webinar is organised to give insights for youth to rethink the roles and responsibilities in tackling Covid virus. The Resource Person for the day was Mrs. Srilatha KS, Human Resource, ABB Global Industries & Services Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru. The session was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Augustine George, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru. Prof.C.Surendranath Reddy, Head, department of Management welcomed the gathering.

Resource Person Mrs.Srilatha K S addressed the gatherings with gratitude for inviting her to interact with students. Madam emphasized on coping up with any situation by continuously skilling, reskilling and upskilling in changing environment. Reinventing the roles and responsibilities helps to adapt quickly to changing environment. Few realistic examples were shared which helped every participant to think how can they contribution to the society in this pandemic situation. Covid pandemic situation can only be solved only with teamwork, so individuals should join with government for eradication or slowing down infection. Madam shared how ABB global industries and services contributed to CSR and Covid situation.

A total of 438 students registered for the webinar through the registration link and out of that 231 students had participated in the webinar in effective manner. Students have shown lot of interest in this webinar based on the information shared by the resource person. The participants were very interactive and towards the end of the session there was Q & A session followed by feedback by the participants.

Students wear able to reinvent their roles and responsibilities to overcome stress, anxiety and fear in post pandemic situation. The participants found this as learning experience as they were able to apply their minds to find possible ways to serve their neighborhoods.


Online Webinar for students exclusively for BBA and B.Com on the topic “Challenges to Start-ups in Post Covid-19 World”

As academicians it is our responsibility to assist students to help them in the process of learning continuously with this objective, The Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College had organized an Online Webinar for students exclusively for BBA and B.Com on the topic “Challenges to Start-ups in Post Covid-19 World” on 6th June 2020. A total of 271 students registered for the programme and the session was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Augustine George, Vice Principal, Kristu Jayanti College.

Mr. Thaneshwar Singh Founder MD, lentra Business Solution Pvt Ltd was the Resource person for the day who shared his knowledge and experience to the students. During the session Mr. Thaneshwar briefed about the challenges that each industry faces at this current pandemic situation and also gave his insight on how these challenges can be turned into opportunities for starting up the business. He also spoke about how to be adaptable and agile during this uncertain situation.

The participants were very interactive and towards the end of the session there was Q & A session followed by feedback by the participants.


The Department of Management organised an International Guest Lecture on 7th January, 2020 exclusively for the final year BBA students. The guest for the day was Dr. Dinesh S Dave’, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Information systems & Supply chain management, John Walker College of Management, Appalachian State University, North Carolina, USA. The theme of the guest lecture was Supply chain Management, which is of global importance today. The guest began the session with an elementary introduction to supply chain management and the processes involved. Dr. Dave’ mentioned a variety of examples such as Amazon, Flipkart, Target and so on. He elucidated the working of supply chain for different industries. He explained about the chain of supply and mentioned the three important flows in the chain - Product flow, Information flow, and Finance flow. He also added about the criticality of demand planning in the supply chain management. The mixed model of logistic drivers and cross functional drivers in supply chain management was also introduced to the students. Dr. Dave suggested on the improvements that can be made in the Indian infrastructure to enhance the effectiveness of Indian Supply chain. He also threw light on the current budget of India where the government has planned to spend Rs 102 lakh crore in Infrastructure development which is a positive sign for the economy. Finally, he concluded by encouraging the students to learn more about this emerging discipline, supply chain management. On the whole, the session proved to be really informative for the final year BBA students.

The department of management organised an International Expert talk on the topic “Learning in a Dynamic Global Environment”. This session was held on 18th February,2019 at the Mini Auditorium 2 exclusively for the first year BBA students. The guest for the day was Mr. Sandeep Titus, marketing manager, ARDEX endura, Bangalore. He began with a moral story of water bug's transformation into dragon fly which inspired the students to incorporate such transformation in their lives. Mr. Titus enumerated various aspects such as dealing with expectations, networking and growth. The guest also conducted various activities, one of them being, a questionnaire consisting of 10 questions which constituted different aspects of psychological significance. Being an alumni of Kristu Jayanti College, he had an interactive session with the students about his experience. To conclude the session, Mr. Surendranath Reddy, the head of the department handed over a memento to Mr. Sandeep Titus, as a token of gratitude. On the whole the session proved to be really inspiring and motivating to the students.

The guest for the day was Ms. Neethu Madhu, Financial Analyst, Wells Fargo EGS. She joined as an associate Financial Analyst in the year 2017 and got promoted to Financial Analyst role within a year. The chief guest began by stating the importance of Current affairs Hour that is scheduled apart from the subjects and the necessity to know the happenings around the world. “Every news matters” she said, pointing out how important it is to have knowledge of current affairs in order to be able to confidently step into the corporate work environment. She also insisted that good communication skill is very essential to be able to work in the corporate world, without which the students’ ability cannot be recognized. She also pointed out certain skills required to crack interviews like good knowledge about the current affairs and past of the company, knowledge about the post that you have applied, good communication skills and attitude. Ms. Neethu also shared her experience of how she was able to get through her interview because of the research she had done prior. She encouraged the students to actively take part in the cultural programs as such opportunities prove to help in development of one’s personality. She elucidated about the scope of aviation management in terms of masters like Aviation strategic management, Airport design and development, Aircraft safety, Air traffic control, Commercial aviation and so on. This quote holds true for any institution. Kristu Jayanti College is proud to have served thousands of students since inception. The college has a good number of renowned alumni working across the globe who, continue to inspire. One such alumni, is Ms. Jissa Varghese. A Meet to Alumni session was organised for III semester BBA Business Analytics students on 5th October, 2019 in Administrative block A 209 at 12.00 p.m. Ms. Jissa, the alumni for the day is currently working with Volvo group of university at Volvo group for the past 10 months. Prior to this, she has worked as an assistant professor for 2 and a half years at New Horizon college. As an introduction she shared the core values that she believes, they are Trust, Commitment and Courage. She shared her experience being a normal science girl, wanting to become an aeronautical engineer, but instead ended up in a management course- BBA, because she got an aeronautical seat in a small place called Bidar, and not Bangalore. This landed her up in exploring a different field out of her comfort zone. Everything about the course was new to her and she had no prior exposure any of the subjects and corporate. She also added her experience about the fests in college being the shy, introverted girl and how such fests made her overcome stage fear. The opportunities in the college helped her gain confidence and exposure. Later, she shared about the different jobs she tried her hands at, and how she felt that it was not her cup of tea. But, when she got a job as an assistant professor in New Horizon, she realized that she enjoyed teaching and sharing knowledge. In her tenure as an assistant professor, she realized, that being a teacher means that she would have to have vast knowledge on various subjects, and different experiences that would improve the quality of teaching. So, she decided to quit her job there, and get in to the corporate world, to learn new things and understand how the corporate works. She suggested the students to do a certificate course as it will help them in getting a job. She considered every day as learning as she tends to learn at least one new thing every day. She told the students that it is very important for them to learn who they are as an individual and what their interests lie in. An individual needs to have an identity of his own. And, as years pass by, with various experiences at every step, they will learn what they truly want and who they are as an individual. She concluded the session by sharing about her company, Volvo and the internship opportunities the students could get. Overall, session proved to be very insightful and inspiring to the students.

The department of Management Kristu Jayanti College never stops setting its goals high and also encourages students to progress every day to reach their goals. One such session was the International Guest Lecture on “Dynamics of Global Supply Chain Management” which was organized for the VIth Semester BBA Students on 12th December 2018 at 11:00AM in Mini Auditorium III of the college.

The guest speaker for the day was Dr. Dinesh S. Dave, Professor and Head, Department of Computer science and Supply Chain Management, John A Walker College of Business, Appalachian State University, North Carolina, USA. The session began with Dr. Dinesh addressing the gathering on Supply Chain Management and its scope in Corporate Industries like manufacturing and e-commerce. Dr. Dinesh also spoke about the recent trends and challenges that organizations face in order to meet the demand of the customers.

The highlight of the lecture was discussion about EPIC Framework which stands for Economy, Politics, Infrastructure and Competence. Dr. Dinesh also shared the comparative advantages that India has with other countries like china, USA etc. He also threw light on comparative analysis related to past, present and future economic development of the country like GDP, Inflation and its relevance in Supply Chain Management. He also shared some of the examples from companies located in North Carolina on how they manage their SCM and when it comes to India he said Infrastructure facilities has to be improved in order to have a better development.

The session ended up with student interaction which gave them an idea of SCM and its Operations in India and other countries like USA and China and also about the various opportunities available in the market.

The Department of management never fails to bring all the possible brightness for their students. One such session was the International guest lecture on Career Excellence in International Environment. This session was organized for the IV Semester BBA students on 28th November, at 2pm in the Mini Auditorium 3 of the college. The guest speakers for the day were Prof. Ruth Wallace, Dean of College of Indigenous futures, arts & Society, Charles Darwin University, Australia and Prof. Ganesh Koramannil, Research Scholar in College of Indigenous futures, arts society, Charles Darwin University. The session began with Prof. Ruth addressing the gathering. She introduced Charles Darwin University and the various deaneries of their university. Prof. Ruth also emphasized on the concept of research and its scope in the future. She also mentioned about qualities such as Innovation, problem solving ability, creativity which are important in a potential employee, besides the grades for the dynamic environment. Prof. Ruth was followed by Prof. Ganesh Koramannil who enlightened the gathering about Australia culture and the similarities between the Indian and Australian culture.

He also shared his experience being an Indian in Australia and how Australia enabled him to realize his potential. He concluded with a session with the students and encouraged them to consider Australia as one of their international options for further studies and Opportunities.

The session ended on a high note and brought a new fire among the students for developing their career prospects.


Preparing For Corporate World
“An investment in Knowledge pays the best Interest” - Benjamin Franklin
In the words of Benjamin Franklin thirst to acquire knowledge marks the first step towards success. With this note in mind Mr. Abhishek Kumar Srivastava, Senior Executive Manager , Infosys delivered a talk on “Preparation to embark the corporate world” to the final year students organized by the Department of Management (BBA) on the 4th of August’18.

The talk pondered around various aspects that help one kick starting his/her career and move up the hierarchy. He stated that creativity is what makes you stand out and interest paves one's path to success. Constantly acquiring knowledge and enhancing thinking skills helps an individual to think with an innovative mind. Quoting various examples from his own life, Mr. Abhishek made the session highly interactive as he shed light on the specializations opted by students i.e. Human Resource, Marketing and Finance and what are the various other career options falling under these heads.

Towards the end of the session he motivated the students to open a DEMAT account as a basic stepping stone into the corporate sphere and inculcating a sense of individuality. He was open to questions and provided his opinions on the role of Artificial intelligence in the near future and how it would mould the global village. The feedback from the students led to the success of this session where the students stated it as an eye opener.


MEET YOUR ALUMNI- “Significance of Participation in Academic Activities”
The department has organised ‘Meet Your Alumni’ on 7th July, 2018 as part of interaction between students and alumni. The session was commenced with a brief introduction of Mr. Manish. He shared some glimpse of these college days in Kristu Jayanti College and how the management events experiences made a wider impact on his career. He discussed ‘The art of carving opportunities out of challenge’, He put up a self-reflection question by asking ‘Does your brand stand out from the rest?’.. He also shared his experience as a student of Management discipline and his participation in management fests, department activities and college programs. He suggested the students to invest time cleverly for overall growth during three years of their stay at college. The Question answering session was there were students could come up with their doubts and clarified. The session was ended by 12.50 pm.

Majority of the students felt that the lecture & presentation was enlightening and useful. They also agreed that the information delivered by the resource person was new to them and the presentation was relevant. The students appreciated the content of the presentation and the Q & A session facilitated by the speaker. As a downside students were not appreciative of the use of ICT to the extent expected.


GUEST LECTURE - “Organisation Culture”
The department has organized ‘Guest Lecture’ on 17th February, 2018 by Mr. Benjamin K. Ninan to provide an opportunity to students to understand the importance of organisation culture in the organisation.

The session featured the presentation by resource person about the internal practices of IBM, business processes, internal communication, problem solving mechanism, decision making process, adopting innovations, motivating employees and organizing meetings. The resource person also emphasized on being ready for corporate culture as the organisations today give less time for entry level executives to settle in their job. He also said that jobs today demand high level of commitment and creativity among the employees. The session also had interaction between students and resource person, where students asked few questions regarding the current trends in organisations, job preparation and future prospects in the job market.


MEET YOUR ALUMNI - “Career Opportunities In Marketing”
The department has organised ‘Meet Your Alumni’ on 17th February, 2018 as part of interaction between students and alumni, which was conducted by Mr. Vinod Raj R.

Mr. Vinod Raj R has shared his experience in marketing field among the students and given an idea about the marketing. He explained about the opportunities available in the marketing field and how to grab those opportunity to build up their career. He insists the students to get into the marketing field for good package. He has given some guidelines to the students for developing their communication skills and qualities which is needed in marketing field for their better career. The session had interaction and discussed about various requirements regarding opportunities in the marketing field.

EXPERT LECTURE
Department of Management (BBA) is planned organise an expert lecture on “Design Your Future” on 8th December, 2017 for IV semester BBA students at 2.45 p.m. in Mini Auditorium-III.

The session features an expert talk by Shri. Karthik Reddy, CEO, Himagiri Group, Bangalore, a renowned entrepreneur and builder from Bangalore. The session will focus on opportunities for young entrepreneurs, current challenges in family owned business and strategies for the growth of the business.


MEET YOUR ALUMNI - Significance of Continuous Assessment”
The department has organised ‘Meet Your Alumni’ on 23rd September, 2017 as part of interaction between students and alumni, which was conducted by Ms. Kikayangla Longkumer which mostly focused on the importance of the CIA component which will help in students’ academic grading. She explained to the student about scoring well in the internal exams which will have impact in increasing the aggregate percentage. She focused more on placements in college which is based on the score in academics. She happily shared her college experience and about her professional experience.

The department has organised ‘Meet Your Alumni’ on 16th September, 2017 as part of interaction between students and alumni, which was conducted by Mr. Sameer Ali Khan.

The session has featured the orientation on career for management students in various sectors in business. The session also focused on transformation of student to corporate world and care taken to design the career. The resource person had also emphasized on utilizing the resources available in the college for the overall development of the student. He mentioned that students must learn the basic communication skills, problem solving skills, inter personal skills and right attitude to succeed in the corporate world.

Mr. Nelson Peter D on 16th September 2017 has given a session about the Issues and Challenges in Startup companies. He has shared his experience in working with the startup venture among the students and given various input to the students in selecting the startup venture for their career. He explained what is all about the risk involved in startup venture. From the students perspective, he has given relevant information regarding startup venture and also he communicated about the skills and qualities required for the student to work with the startup venture.M

From the student’s perspective, he has given relevant information regarding marketing field and also, he communicated about the skills and ability required for the student to get into the marketing field to attain maximum career growth.

The Department of Management had organized a Guest Lecture and an interactive session by Ms. Adrienne Castellon (Instructor and Advisor, Educational Leadership, Trinity Western University, Canada) on 03rd October, 2016 which enabled the students to understand the gender discrimination issues in international context.

She has shared her experience based on a research on gender discrimination at global level and its impact on women leadership. She explained that there is gender discrimination in developed countries like USA and Canada.

She also pointed out that governments should draft legislation, which can minimize the discrimination among the genders. She also appealed that women must be educated and taken up responsibilities at higher levels.

He has had vast knowledge in preparing students for CAT/ MAT/ GMAT. He discussed about how to solve Mathematics problems in a simple and easy way and solving the comprehensive passage with simple techniques. He also explained about different management programmes offered by B-Schools across the world.

He informed the students about various scholarship options available while doing MBA programme in foreign universities. He also gave guidelines on applying for foreign universities for higher studies.

Alumni had interacted with students on various issues related to academic activities and highlighted the significance of participating in academic activities. He also had done few exercises for students to elevate the scope for entrepreneurship.

The session focused on importance of effective communication in the organisation and its significance in the success of the organisation. Resource person suggested the students to be proactive and be prepared for future challenges. He also mentioned about importance of networking, updating with current affairs, learning from experiences and focusing on goals.

He finally suggested students to participate actively in the activities of the department and college in order to build the confidence and develop the required skills. He also answered the questions raised by the students at the end of the session.

The students have actively participated in the session and they were curious about various practices of the corporate. Students were also happy about the information shared by the resource person.


MEET 3I
Department of Management has organized a guest lecture by Mr. Gabriel Peter (Global Sales Manager, Marriott Hotel, Bangalore) as part of the 3I programme for the IV Semester students on 13th February, 2016 at the college. The session was taken to familiarize the students with practices of star hotel in international market.

He came with lot of experience in hotel industry and sheared his experience with students. The practices of hotel in international market like associating with global agencies to get customers, contributing to Indian tourism, attracting foreign customers with international facilities, providing quick information, expanding the services etc.


MEET 3I
Department of Management has organized a guest lecture by Ms. Kezhia Sharieff (Yahoo, Bangalore) as part of the 3I programme for the IV Semester students on 30th January, 2016 at the college. The session was taken to make the students understand the job-related issues in a Multinational Company.

The college and its offices will remain closed from 23rd to 25th December 2024 due to end-semester vacation. |
