The Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru organized Seven Day National Level Virtual FDP on Pedagogical Tools Fostering Innovation in Teaching for Generation Z Learners from 12th February 2024 to 19th February 2024 from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm through Zoom platform. The aim of this FDP is to explore the significance of integrating pedagogical tools into teaching practices and enhance the educational experience for Generation Z learners and prepare them for the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Day 1 Session: Topic: Innovative Pedagogies for Educators in fostering Learner Engagement
Resource Person: Prof. C. Surendhranatha Reddy
Prof. C. Surendranatha Reddy emphasized the importance of adapting teaching methodologies to suit the digital-native characteristics of Generation Z students. He discussed several innovative pedagogies, including active learning techniques, flipped classrooms, gamification, and technology integration, all designed to enhance learner engagement and participation. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of creating interactive and collaborative learning environments that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity among students. He provided practical examples and case studies to illustrate the effectiveness of these pedagogical tools in real-world educational settings.
Day 2 Session: Topic: Cutting-Edge Pedagogy Tools in Kristu Jayanti LMS
Resource Person: Prof. Suku Thomas Samuel
He started the session with the introduction to different generation learners and their learning patterns and then spoke about the LMS that is been developed and managed by Kristu Jayanti College. He explained about the various plug-ins available in LMS and their usefulness. He also spoke about four quadrants that are used in KJ-LMS. He also suggested about the importance of these LMS tools in performance enhancement of slow learners and Advanced learners.
Day 3 Session: Topic: Designing Engaging Learning experience for Gen Z Learners
Resource Person: Dr. P. Prasanna
He gave attendees insightful knowledge on the ever-changing field of contemporary education. Emphasizing the distinct qualities of Gen Z learners, Dr. P. Prasanna underlined the significance of employing cutting-edge pedagogical instruments to successfully engage and inspire this tech-savvy generation. The talk covered a wide range of tactics, such as adaptive learning systems, virtual and augmented reality technology, collaborative platforms, gamification, and multimedia resources.
Day 4 Session: Topic: Tailoring Education through evolving Pedagogy, Heutagogy, Andragogy approaches
Resource Person: Prof. Madhusudhanan R
The session focused on adapting to the evolving needs of learners through a nuanced understanding of pedagogy, heutagogy and andragogy – three distinct approaches that shape the landscape of education. This session explored into traditional pedagogy, which emphasizes teacher-centered learning and contrasted it with andragogy, an approach tailored for adult lerners that places a greater emphasis on self-directed learning. Additionally, the session introduced heutagogy, an emerging framework that encourages learners to take an active role in designing their own learning paths.
Day 5 Session: Topic: NLP Techniques for student’s evaluation
Resource Person: Dr. Sendhil Kumar
The session started to address on the various NLP Techniques that offers valuable tools for analysing student evaluations, providing educators with insights into student feedback to improve the learning experience. Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques allows educators to extract the data and to identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to enhance the overall learning experience.
Day 6 Session: Topic: AI Tools for elevating teaching pedagogy
Resource Person: Dr. Priyanka Chawla
This session aimed to empower educators with cutting-edge technologies, specifically focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. The session delved into various aspects of AI and how these tools can be effectively integrated into teaching methodologies to enhance the overall learning experience. Dr. Priyanka Chawla explored how AI tools could be leveraged to personalize learning experiences, provide real-time feedback and adapt to individual student needs.
ay 7 Session: Topic: Gamification
Resource Person: Mr. Kartic Vaidyanathan
He initiated the discussion by highlighting the fundamental distinction between using traditional textbooks and integrating gamification into the classroom, emphasizing its impact on student engagement. Mr. Kartic delved into the utilization of various gamification tools such as quizizz.com, gimkit.com, snake & ladder, crossword puzzle, and more, coupled with interactive classroom activities to encourage active student participation.
Orientation Session on Consultancy Activities

The consulting service is thought to be the most efficient means of transferring information and skills to business and society.
The Department of Management and the Department of Professional Management Studies conducted a consultancy orientation session for their faculty members. The college's consulting service is intended to support faculties' in their professional growth and this session encouraged faculties from both departments to be actively involved in the consultancy activities.
The Resource Person for the session was Dr. Baba Gnanakumar, Director, Kritu Jayanti Consultancy Services.
The meeting started by guided how consultancy benefits the educators and the teaching fraternity in general and its impact on the proposed projects. The meeting also gave insights upon building the right mind-set for consultancy in educators and how the institution and the faculty can adopt a problem-solving & critical thinking approach.
He also briefed them with the various proposed interdisciplinary research projects and its availabilities along with its objectives of the projects and preparing a proposals. The Orientation session also focused on how faculties can contribute and get associated with consulting activities in coordination with Kristu Jayanti Consultancy Centre. The faculties are encouraged to prepare the proposals in collaboration with well-established research institutes and also to be associated with various multilateral agencies, government agencies and industries as consultant.
The session concluded with an interactive session in which the faculty shared their experiences related to consultancy and cleared their doubts related to the topic.

This event was designed to bolster the research capabilities of faculty members by providing crucial insights into securing funding and leveraging consultancy opportunitiesM
The Department of Management and the Department of Professional Management Studies conducted a Faculty Enrichment Program for their faculty members. The program introduced faculty members to major national and international funding agencies & the detailed application processes and requirements for research grants, and shared strategies for writing successful grant proposals. Additionally, it explored potential consultancy opportunities and discussed effective project management and compliance with ethical standards. Session was attended by a diverse group of senior, associate, and assistant professors, the program featured interactive sessions and practical hands on work experience equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute significantly to the institution's research initiatives.
Seven Day National Level Virtual FDP on E-Content: Design & Applications
The Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru organized Seven Day National Level Virtual FDP on E-Content: Design & Applications from 6th February 2023 to 13th February 2023 from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm through Zoom platform. The aim of this FDP is to provide insights to the participants and make them understand the usage of tools and techniques, the process of designing and developing the interactive e-content, and also to enhance the learning process and pedagogical methods. The registration of FDP opened on 9th January 2023 and closed on 4th February 2023 and received 88 participants from all over India. FDP is scheduled for Seven days through an online platform on different topics on each day as Day 1 session is on Essentials of E-content Development, the Day 2 session on Tools to enhance e-content and teaching pedagogy, the Day 3 session on developing e-content, Day 4 session on creating video lecture using OBS studio, Day 5 session on E-content Model – KJLMS, Day 6 session on Open Educational Resources (OER) for E-content development and Day 7 session on Applications for creating interactive learning e-content.
Day 1 Session: Topic: Essentials of E-Content Development | Resource Person: Prof. C. Surendranatha Reddy
Prof. C. Surendranatha Reddy spoke about the need for e-content development. The shift in learning capabilities, the world moving towards digital platforms, personalized learning, quick learning, and pandemics. He discussed the e-content development process: capture –start with a clear plan, conceptualize - lead with a prototype, create – build with confidence, cultivate – improve and refine and commercialise – deliver an ROI.
Day 2 Session: Topic: Tools to enhance E-Content and Teaching Pedagogy | Resource Person: Prof. Suku Thomas Samuel
He also discussed incorporating e-learning tools such as discussion forums, blogs, wikis, and so forth in most teaching and learning activities. He explained the Learning Management system and some of the LMS packages such as Moodle, Google classroom, talent LMS, Learning dash, and ski prep. He also discussed how E-learning should be seen as an innovative force improving pedagogy and engaging students in productive and exciting ways.
Day 3 Session: Topic: Developing E-Content | Resource Person: Dr. K. Aruna Devi
Started the session with a small warm-up session by giving a quiz through join my quiz .com. The majority of the participants actively contributed their opinion through this quiz. He explained about creating e-content by explaining them practically and by highlighting different options available to create e-content. Mam also helped the participants to convert their material to e-books and to create their own cover page with a canvas.
Day 4 Session: Topic: Creating Video Lecture Using OBS Studio | Resource Person: Prof. Bijin Philip
He explained the procedure for recording lecture videos using OBS by adding various features like adding images and videos, recording videos and input and output audio, etc. He also explained how to save video files in different extensions and qualities.
Day 5 Session: Topic: E-Content Model – Kristu Jayanti LMS | Resource Person: Prof. A. Sevuga Pandian
He explained the E-content model-Kristu Jayanti LMS and the process of developing E-content in LMS. He also focused on uploading content by implementing 4 quadrants in LMS. After the session, the forum was open for questions and participants cleared their doubts.
Day 6 Session: Topic: Open Educational Resources (OER) for E-Content Development | Resource Person: Dr. Ankit Saxena
Dr. Ankit Saxena started the session with the quote “Education is far more comprehensive than what we visualize” by Albert Einstein and gave inputs regarding the open solutions for creating and accessing the e-content. He pointed out the information regarding the various open sources provided by Government, Education Institutions, and Civil Society, and other working groups towards OER.
Day 7 Session: Topic: Applications for Creating Interactive Learning E-Content | Resource Person: Dr. Gunjan Mohan Sharma
Day 7 session is focused on Applications for Creating Interactive Learning E-Content by Dr. Gunjan Mohan Sharma, Associate Professor & Associate - Dean, O.P. Jindal Global University, Haryana. Dr. Gunjan Mohan Sharma was keen on the focused area of E-content development and application. He has more emphasis on interactive e-content usage, and the different ways to develop it to make efficient teaching and learning process.
Seven Days National Workshop on SPSS
Department of Management organised a Seven Days National Workshop on SPSS. The main objective is to orient the participants on the basics of research and data analysis and also to provide a hands-on experience with SPSS software. SPSS software is a comprehensive and flexible statistical analysis and data management solution. The workshop covers topics from foundation to advanced concepts. It is an ideal platform for academicians, researchers, and industry stakeholders to gain practical insight into data collection tools, and statistical tools along with the application of technology for data processing and statistical analysis in social science research. The workshop had 75 participants and the session started with the formal inaugural session. Prof. Suku Thomas Samuel, Coordinator of the workshop welcomed the gathering, and Rev. Fr. Jais V Thomas, Financial Administrator, of Kristu Jayanti College delivered the presidential address. Prof. Madhusandan R proposed the vote of thanks. The workshop was planned over 7 days and was hosted through the Zoom platform.

Day 6: Correlation, Simple Linear Regression & Multiple Regression, and the resource person was Dr. Subha B, Assistant Professor, Department of Management.
Day 7: Chi-Square Test (Tailed & two-tailed) and the resource person was Dr. Excelce A.J Assistant Professor, Department of Management.
The workshop was a huge success and received and very good appreciation and feedback. The session was recorded and converted into video tutorials.
Faculty Enhancement programme on adding new plugins in learning management system
The Department of Management organised a Faculty Enhancement programme on adding new plugins in learning management system. The session was conducted on 05/08/2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in room number A 212. The major objective of the programme was to orient and give an insight on the new plugins that can be adopted by the faculty members into their respective courses for effective student engagement. The resource persons for the session Prof. Suku Thomas Samuel demonstrated on how to create “WIKI” as a new plug in focusing on collaborative learning method, Prof. Rupashree demonstrated on configuring the course outcomes to each of the respective courses and also demonstrated on the new grading system to be adopted by the college called KJC Competency Scale and the grading process to be adopted using the competency scale. The overall objective of the programme was to enrich the faculty members to adopt new learning methods using KJLMS which emphasis on adopting new teaching pedagogy by teaching to students thereby focusing on flip classroom and collaborative learning.

Department of Management organized seven days Faculty Development Programme on Integrated Learning Through Blended Approach from 29th November 2021 to 5th December 2021 between 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. The main objective of this FDP is to provide hands-on exposure to the participants related to the integrated learning through blended approach. Blended learning also known as hybrid learning is a method of teaching that integrates technology and digital media with traditional instructor-led classroom activities, giving students more flexibility to customize their learning experiences. The FDP is aimed to equip academicians to gain practical insight on integrated learning through blended approach.
The FDP provided the participants a hands-on experience on the integrated learning through blended approach. The academicians are able to select appropriate tools for blended learning and also learned various approaches to enhance learning effectiveness through blended learning.

National Workshop on Data Analysis using SPSS
The Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College organised a seven day National Workshop on Data Analysis using SPSS. The workshop was organised from October 25 to October 31, 2021. The workshop was inaugurated on 25 October 2021, Monday. Prof. Surendranath Reddy, Head, Department of Management welcomed the participants. Rev. Dr. Augustine George, Principal delivered the presidential address at the inauguration. Over 80 participants across the country registered and attended the workshop. The workshop is aimed to equip academicians, researchers, and industry stakeholders to gain practical insight on data collection tools, statistical tools along with the application of technology of data processing and statistical analysis in social science research. t-Test, Chi Square Test, Correlation, Factor Analysis were some of the topics covered at the workshop. Over 80 participants across the country registered and attended the workshop. The workshop was a grand success as it helped in enriching the analytical knowledge and the research acumen of the participants.
Research Forum
Department of Management inaugurated the Research forum, a gathering place for teachers and research scholars to exchange ideas and learn more about research. The main objective of the research forum is to bring in a research ambience among the faculty members, research scholars and to strengthen the existing and future researchers by conducting workshops on different statistical tools and its applications. The resource person for the day is Dr Mayank Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous). The session began with a silent prayer. Dr Excelce delivered the welcome address, and Dr Prasanna read the profile of the resource person. Dr Edward Aloysius, Dean of Commerce and Management, delivered the inaugural address. Dr Mayank has been active in research since 2013, and within this short tenure, he has published almost 30 articles in all the reputed publications and very high impact journals such as ACS, IOP, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis and Wiley. He also completed his Postdoctoral research studies in 2019. In the short term of his research career, Dr Mayank has a citation score of 288, with an h-index of 12. Dr Mayank Pandey shared rich insights on publishing quality research papers in relevant fields and different journals. He stated that research must be constructed as action and translation of knowledge into action. He explained the various aspects of presenting and publishing quality articles and highlighted the attributes and duties by showing different samples. During the Question and Answer interactive session, a lot of questions and doubts were clarified by Dr Pandey, which helped the researchers and faculty members to enrich their research quotient. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr John William, Faculty, Department of Management (UG).
The Department of Management organised a Virtual training Session for the students of V BBA Section A of 2018- 2021 batch on 15th, 16th & 19th December 2020. The orientation was conducted by Prof. Annie Kavitha Pitta, ISDC Trainer. Prof. Suku Samuel welcomed the gathering and the students. The overview of the Advanced Management Accounting course was explained to the students and during the training sessions the students clarified their doubts. The Sessions were informative and helpful. 28 Students benefited from the training.
Change is the only constant in today’s world and the science of business management is no exception. A paradigm shift is a change in the way we understand, perceive and approach our world. The current Pandemic Covid 19 has largely affected many areas. With this view, Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College organized the Faculty Development Programme for Three days from June 16th 2020 to 18th June 2020 on the theme “Covid – 19 – Paradigm Shift in business” and was focused on three different areas like Finance, Marketing and Human Resource. Faculty Development Programme received an overwhelming response with 96 Participants.
Day1 –The Investment Avenues in Post Covid Era
FDP provided a platform to the participants for insightful thoughts on paradigm shifts identified and perceived in business practices that will define how businesses can be managed in the near future Prof . Surrendranath Reddy , Head, Department of Management proposed the Welcome Address, The Staff Co - ordinator Dr. A.J.Excelce introduced the resource person of the day Mr. Pandurang Patkar, Certified financial planner, Future care learning academy. Mr. Panurang Patkar elucidated about the different investment avenues like Equity, Gold Bonds and Mutual funds. Sir also highlighted on the facts about Indian Investments. Sir made the session lively by showing the live example through money control Website. The participants were very interactive and the session ended with Q & A and feedback.
Day 2: Adapt your marketing strategies in Covid – 19
The session was enclosed on “Adapt your marketing strategies in Covid – 19”. As Covid-19 will change the way businesses are run, and fundamentally alter management practices. It could significantly speed up the trend of moving from traditional static organizational structures towards dynamic team forms, with people working in flexible groups with shifting membership, often from different locations, to address particular challenges. Prof. Surrendranath Reddy, Head of the Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College is a resource person. Prof. K. Opika the Staff Co-coordinator introduced the resource person of the day. The session explored the marketing strategies followed by different companies during Covid- 19. Sir, quoted examples of restaurants maintaining social distancing post lock down. Different apps like Dunzo, Med life and Myra started with home delivery within two hours. Post pandemic has opened various opportunities to do business. The session came to an end with vote of thanks.
Day 3: Prudent HR measures during and post Covid- 19
The title for day three session was “Prudent HR measures during and Post Covid- 19” -The COVID-19 crisis has changed the lives of people in unprecedented ways. With travel bans, lockdowns, and imposed quarantines, this human tragedy is having an impact on the global economy. It is certainly not business as normal. This pandemic is genuinely an alarming call for companies and leaders to review the strategies, policies, and processes to safeguard employees, customers, and operations during the crisis and at the same time maintain business continuity.
And even after the pandemic slows down, there will be opportunities and needs to reimagine business and operating models and also the portfolio of offerings. With COVID-19, remote working has come across as a savior in empowering people to deal with any quickly evolving situation with this note Prof. Shilpa Rao C Staff Co-ordinator introduced the resource person Prof .Stephen Deepak Associate Professor, School of management, Kristu Jayanti college Bangalore. The session was focused on the adoption of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 during this pandemic, Ramp up training and investment in remote working, The future of work is the future of Worker Wellbeing, The Coronavirus can be an opportunity to Re-define your Business. He also addressed about the processes adapted by companies for their strategic plan. The models are ready to implement however, there is a delay due to the current situation. The session ended with feedback and vote of thanks.

In the future, data analytics is expected to provide deeper insights of business and predictive analytics behavioral segmentation to derive information about the individuals and customer segments in an easy way. The Department of Management has realized the importance of real-time analysis of data using data analysis and enabling enterprises worldwide make quick and effective business decisions. Keeping this in mind, the FDP has been organized from June 8th 2020 to 11th June 2020 with the theme, “Advanced Data Analysis using Spreadsheet”. During the 4 days FDP, topics covered includes advanced tools that will help in the transformation of data collected from sources into information and aid a business to make decisions using the knowledge. The software used for the session was MS Excel. The topics that covered includes VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, Solver Analysis.
The session was conducted using Zoom as a platform. Prof. Suku Thomas Samuel, Assistant Professor, Department of Management (BBA) was the trainer for the session. Data sets for the session were shared well in advance with the participants. On Day 1, Prof. Surendranath Reddy, Head Department of Management delivered the welcome address. The online FDP was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Fr. Augustine George, Vice Principal and delivered the presidential address. A total of 86 participants across India were benefited from the FDP.

The Department of Management has realized the importance of real-time analysis of data using data analysis and enabling enterprises worldwide make quick and effective business decisions. Keeping this in mind, the FDP has been organized with the theme, Data Analysis using Spreadsheet from May 19th 2020 to 22nd May 2020. During the 4 days FDP, topics covered includes tools that will help in the transformation of data collected from sources into information and aid a business to make decisions using the knowledge. The software used for the session was MS Excel. The topics that covered from basics to intermediate level. The session covered the usage of formulas of logical, reference and statistical functionality. Sorting, filtering, pivot tables, pivot charts, data analysis pack were covered as a part of the online session.
The registration details and poster were circulated through social media platforms and emails. The session was conducted using Zoom as a platform.Prof. Suku Thomas Samuel, Assistant Professor, Department of Management (BBA) was the trainer for the session. Data sets for the session were shared well in advance with the participants. On Day 1, Prof. Surendranath Reddy, Head Department of Management delivered the welcome address. Training Programme for Teachers
Department of Management organized a Stock Investing Simulation for the faculties, in association with TrakInvest. A training session was conducted for the teachers of Deanery of Commerce and Management by the officials of TrakInvest and the resource persons were Ms. Urvi Babla, Senior Vice President - Marketing & Sales, Trakinvest Group, Mr. Dhivyansh, Customer Experience Manager, Trakinvest Group, Mr. Pushpakanth, Customer Experience Manager, Trakinvest Group. TrakInvest is a stock trading student platform. It helps to give the students a practical exposure to trading in the stock market. It is a highly student centric platform which promotes practical application of investment concept taught in class. The TrakInvest platform provides real time information to students to place their money in various stocks and teachers can evaluate the trading strategies and provide feedback. This will help to create custom games for the students and will give rise to more concrete discussions in class, promoting true learning and experience.
