Department of Management (UG), Kristu Jayanti College, (Autonomous), conducted Marketing Exhibition. The Chief Guest of the session was Mr. Nishant K.P, Product Training Manager, Acceldata . Chief Guest had addressed gatherings and shares his experience which motivated the students.
KOUSHALA an exhilarating Management Exhibition showcasing innovative marketing strategy and models developed by the students of Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College was held on 07/11/2024. The event drew 32 teams consisting of 4 participants. Exhibitors displayed creative models which displayed various marketing themes. Koushala helped students to understand various marketing concepts, Students gained immense experience featuring over 32 models, carefully crafted to address diverse marketing challenges and opportunities. They crafted models which consisted of old age home, Hospitality industries and other various businesses. Diverse culture of students from different part of country also resulted in creative ideas and models. In today’s market, understanding diversity and cultural nuances is crucial for business to thrive and therefore market model created by students acknowledged the diversity of consumers. Students were highly successful for integrating diversity and cultural considerations in the market models.
Inquizitive 2024 – Business Quiz Competition
Date: 22 to 30 October 2024
Inquizitive 2024, A Business Quiz competition organized by the Department of Management (BBA) to inculcate the Interest towards current affairs in business and a culture of quizzing among BBA students. The quiz also aims at bringing the best talent among the students and developing knowledge about business affairs. The competition had two prelims conducted on 22nd October, 2024 and 30th October, 2024 and the finals were conducted on 05th November, 2024. The students were divided into teams of 2 each and totally 89 teams were registered for the competition. The two prelims which consisted of MCQ type of questions, Guess the Personality, etc on different topics like advertisement, company logos, taglines, etc. were conducted for the teams.
Outcome: Inquizitive 2024 – a business quiz competition provides a platform to the students to develop their knowledge especially in the business sector. In this competition, students learned to improve their IQ in the field of business and also it develops their self-confidence to take part in this kind of event in the future. Over all Six teams out of 89 teams were selected for Finals, the first prize and second prize winning teams were awarded with trophies and certificates, and third prize winning team was given certificates.
AKSHARA 2024
Date: 12 to 20 September 2024
The Department of Management at Kristu Jayanti College organized Akshara 2024, a week-long extension activity starting from 12th September 2024 to 20th September 2024, which aimed at fostering holistic literacy among students. The program covered six essential areas: Civic, Health, Environmental, Digital, Financial, and Ethical Literacy. Beginning with Civic Literacy, students learned about their roles and responsibilities as citizens, including the importance of voting and community involvement. Health Literacy emphasized personal hygiene, mental well-being, and first aid skills. The Environmental Literacy session raised awareness about sustainability, climate change, and eco-friendly practices. Digital Literacy educated students on safe internet usage and responsible content creation. Financial Literacy introduced them to money management, budgeting, and digital banking. Finally, the Ethical Literacy session reinforced moral values such as integrity, fairness, and ethical decision-making through interactive activities. Akshara 2024 effectively equipped students with the knowledge and skills needed for responsible, ethical leadership in society.
Objectives:
• Enhance literacy: To impart valuable knowledge and enhance literacy about various aspects of day to day life to students in government schools.
• Promoting Education Equality: To contribute towards reducing the educational disparity by extending educational support to those in need.

JNANADARSHAN 2024-2025 Annual Book Exhibition

The Library Resource Usage Optimization Committee hosted a comprehensive book review session focused on Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, authored by Prof. Mandhusudhanan R The session aimed to explore the key concepts of the book and its relevance to current financial practices and investment strategies.
Prof. Madhusudhanan R provided an in-depth overview of the book's objectives, which include elucidating advanced techniques in security analysis and optimizing portfolio management strategies. The book addresses contemporary challenges in financial markets and offers practical insights for investors. The review session facilitated a deeper understanding of the book’s content and encouraged attendees to apply its principles in their financial practices. It also highlighted the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in the evolving landscape of investment management. Overall, the session aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the book's subject matter and its practical relevance, fostering a richer appreciation of security analysis and portfolio management.
Observance of Anti Ragging Week
The Department of Management organized a week-long observance of Anti Ragging Week from August 13, 2024 to August 18, 2024 with the aim of creating awareness, educating students, and fostering a safe and inclusive campus environment. The week-long event featured a variety of activities designed to engage students, faculty, and staff in meaningful discussions about the consequences of ragging and the importance of preventing it.
The Anti Ragging Week commenced with a stimulating anti ragging awareness quiz that tested participant’s knowledge about ragging, its legal implications, and ways to prevent it. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged in friendly yet competitive quizzing. The second event of the Anti Ragging Week was poster-making. The posters aimed to convey powerful anti-ragging messages through art and visuals. The themes included promoting empathy, solidarity, and the importance of reporting ragging incidents. The third event featured student-led presentations that delved into the deeper aspects of ragging. Students discussed the root causes of ragging, its psychological and emotional consequences on victims, and shared insights into preventive measures.
The presentations encouraged open dialogue and thoughtful reflection among the participants. The events organized during the week prompted students to reflect on the impact of ragging and their responsibilities in preventing it. As we concluded the Anti Ragging Week, we reiterated our commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and any form of harassment. We encouraged students to report any incidents they witness or experience and to actively participate in creating a campus environment where everyone feels safe and respected.
Spark a smile - Department extension activity
Spark-a-smile, a fund raiser activity which happened on 13th March 2024. The main objective of this event was to raise the fund to help the poor and needy students to get their basic amenities.
The inauguration of the same was organized in A1 auditorium presided by Fr. Jais V Thomas, Director Jayantian extension services, who encouraged the students to come up with more creative ideas and to help the needy whenever it is required.
Around 10 stalls were put up in the college campus and Fr. Jais inaugurated this event at the chavara square. Through fund raiser and stalls we gathered around Rs. 44,000, which will be used for the betterment of the society.
Department Extension Activity (Department of Management) organized a heartwarming session titled “Period Positivity: Supporting Menstrual Wellness," aimed at instilling a sense of women’s health and hygiene among the girl wards of Refugee Foundation, Kothanur. The event was designed to promote health and hygiene among girls aged 10-18. The students contributed wellness kits to the NGO called “Refugee Foundation” located at Kothanur, Bengaluru. The primary objective of the event was to create a platform for an open talk regarding women’s health and wellness. The event generated a remarkable response, with an active participation from the extension activity members. The activities conducted not only contributed to the betterment of the community but also provided participants with valuable experiences and a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by women and girls in the society.
The Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous, Bengaluru, recently organized a dynamic and impactful Social Responsibility Week from January 8th to January 12th, 2024, as a part of the ongoing commitment to community engagement and social awareness. The week-long event aimed to foster a sense of social responsibility among students and promote the importance of contributing to the community.
Social responsibility
Social responsibility is a virtuous theory in which individuals are accountable for fulfilling their civic duty, and the actions of an individual must benefit the whole of society. In this way, there must be a balance between economic growth and the welfare of society and the environment. When it comes to Social Responsibility they are of various types like Environmental responsibility, Human rights responsibility, Philanthropic responsibility, Economic responsibility, and many more. With this motto the department of management organized SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WEEK 2023 with the theme “LET’S REBUILD THE WORLD” from 27th March 2023 to 30th March 2023. The objective of conducting this event is to make students aware of their social responsibilities which they must follow and practice in order to contribute for the upliftment of society. The event also aimed at improving leadership skills and encouraged students to come out with solutions that solve current social issues of society.
Training for the students of BBA VI semester
Date: Feb & Apr 2023
Department of Management organized a training for the students of BBA VI semester section A. The objective of the CIMA training was to orient the students of the BBA VI semester on Risk Management for the CIMA examination. The training was conducted across the months of February and April 2023. The training was conducted by Ms. Jyothika Ramadas, ACCA Affiliate. The chapters on Risk Management were covered as a part of the training. The training was conducted offline. The objective of the training was to orient the students on the concepts of Risk Management. The orientation will help the students prepare for taking up the CIMA examination paper. The training was covered over a total of 54 hours for the students. 17 students of BBA VI semester section A participated in the training. The students found the training to be beneficial and insightful.
Hands-on Training sessions on Data Warehouse Tools

Hands-on Training sessions on Data Warehouse Tools were organized by the Department of Management on 15/04/2023. The session started with a silent prayer followed by the welcoming of resource person Dr. Ayshwarya B. The purpose of this lab session was to introduce BBA students to the concept of Data Warehousing and Data Mining and provide hands-on experience using Anaconda Navigator. The lab session was conducted using Anaconda Navigator, which is an open-source distribution for data science and machine learning. The system in the lab had the required package of Anaconda Navigator. These packages included pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, and sci-kit-learn.
During the session, BBA students were asked to create a sample dataset using Microsoft Excel. They were then able to use Spyder, which is a popular IDE widely used in the data science community and available in Anaconda Navigator, to explore the dataset. Various data exploration techniques, such as data visualization and statistical analysis, were used to gain insights and identify patterns in the data. This enabled students to practice and develop their data analysis and modeling skills. The session was guided by the resource person Dr. Ayshwarya B and Prof. Somasundaram T. Their guidance throughout the session was outstanding. Their explanations, demonstrations, and feedback were clear, concise, and insightful, which helped students to gain a much deeper understanding of the subject matter as a result. Through this session, students were able to create a sample dataset using Microsoft Excel, which helped them understand how data can be organized and prepared for analysis.
Certificate Course on “Aptitude Skills”
Date: 20 March to 20 April 2023
The Department of Management offered Certificate Course on “Aptitude Skills” to Second year BBA students from 20/03/2023 to 20/04/2023. Aptitude is the acquired capacity for something and it can range from developed knowledge, learned or acquired abilities or skills, and talents, which are necessary to perform a task. The aim of this course is to equip the students with basic aptitude skills through problem-solving methods and testing one’s critical thinking across various contexts. This course is conducted for 30 hours as part of their curriculum which will enhance their employability skills. This course was handled by BBA faculty and each faculty was given topics based on their preference and allotted the class for the students. Aptitude problems related to various concepts were solved in the class and additional problems were given to the students to get practiced in aptitude skills. The aptitude class was scheduled for Monday & Wednesday from 11.00 am to 12.50 pm and Tuesday & Thursday from 1.40 pm – 3.30 pm and all the teachers have taken the classes as per the schedule. Through this credit course, students improved their Analytical skills and knowledge to solve problems with shortcut techniques and it build confidence among them to attend the competitive and bank exams to have a bright future in their careers.
World Education Day

The Department of Management organized a World Education Day on 25th January 2023 with the objective to create awareness among migrant children’s about the importance of education in life. The students of BBA visited the migrant area which is located near Humanthrao circle, Kothnur, and started with an awareness activity about education and conducted various fun activities, and the department of management contributed pencils and chocolates to those children. The department aimed to provide awareness about the importance of education in student’s life thus visited the nearby government school and made the students do many fun activities and games from which they could show up their talents, interest in playing, and competitive spirit as they are living in a competitive era and by all these activities and games we could tell them that education plays a vital role in everyone’s life.
SIDDHA DAY
Date: 09 January 2023
The Department of Management of Kristu Jayanti College conducted an Extension Level Activity on SIDDHA DAY spreading awareness about the importance of a balanced and healthy diet among students. The session was conducted in online mode on 9th January 2023 at 3:30 pm by Dr. Sangeetha Padmananbhan for the first-year students. She is the head of marketing at Sakthi Herbal Product and a Board member of the PSG Nuta Association. The topic of the session was “Siddha Diet and Nutrition for Healthy life”. The session started with a light brainstorming where basic questions about vitamins and nutrients were asked by the resource person. The students actively participated in the same. The session then instructed students about the 6 tastes in the Siddha diet that has to be followed for good health. Six tastes are known as sweet, sour, salt, pungent (spicy), bitter and astringent. Dr. Sangeetha also spoke about the Varmam therapy which helps the students to deal with day-to-day stress and headaches and not rely on medicine which would be hazardous for the body in the long run. The session was concluded with an enlightening Q & A session where all the students actively participated and enhanced their knowledge about the topic. Overall the session was very enlightening and knowledgeable for all the students.
Traffic Awareness Drive

The Department of Management as a part of its department extension activity conducted a Traffic Awareness Drive at K.Narayanapura Cross on 17/11/2022 from 8:45 am to 9:45 am and in the evening from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm to encourage all the travelers to follow the traffic rules and wear helmets and seat belts while driving. The major objective of the programme was to provide road safety information for road users to encourage safer road user behavior among current and prospective road users and reduce the number of people killed and injured on our roads every year. During the drive students holded banners related to various captions like avoid distractions, obey traffic signals like stop signs, red lights, wear helmets, fasten your seat belts, maintain the speed limit and safe distance, don't drink & drive, don't drive without having a driving licence etc.
The student volunteers of BBA who are a part of department level extension activity took part in the drive which aimed at sensitizing the general public on the basic traffic rules to be followed. In view of this event students of the department also conducted a flash mob and mime inside the campus at chavara square on 16/11/2022. The participation by the students in the drive create awareness among the public who passed by the road to follow traffic rules for leading a safe life.
Akshara II
Date: 17 October 2022
“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself”. In view of providing holistic education, Department of Management (BBA) organised “Akshara” with an objective to Educate and Empower. “Akshara” is an extension activity planned by the department focusing on educating the needy children of the society. The student volunteers of BBA from all the years (first, second and third year) actively took part in the programme planned.
The programme was inaugurated on 17th Oct 2022 at K.Narayanapura Government Higher Secondary School at 11:00 AM in the presence of Dr. Aloysius Edward, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management, Prof. Surendranatha Reddy, Head Department of Management and the School Head mistresses. The student volunteers of the department were grouped into different teams based on the subject they are comfortable to teach. They visited the school during their non-class hours and completed the entire syllabus within the time frame provided.
In order to measure the learning outcome of the students the department also conducted a test on the subjects taught to know the knowledge level of the students after completion of the course. A structured question paper for computer and mathematics was prepared and the examination was scheduled on 26th November 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 Pm. After evaluating the exam answer sheets it was found that the students gained good knowledge through the sessions handled by the students and the department extension volunteers work was much appreciated by the head mistresses of the school and other teachers of the school.
Har Ghar Tiranga
Date: 08 to 15 August 2022
The Department of Management organised an extension activity Har Ghar Tiranga on 8th August to 15th August 2022’. It was a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of Independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. To mark this momentous occasion, the Department of Management encouraged hoisting the flag in the homes of students from 13th to 15th August 2022. In places where flag hoisting was not conducive students were encouraged ‘Pin a Flag’ virtually https://harghartiranga.com/ along with posting a ‘Selfie with Flag’ on the site.
“Spotless”
The Department of Management organized a cleanliness drive called “Spotless” on August 26th 2022. The major objective of the programme was to provide awareness about the cleanliness practices to be followed by students in their respective classroom premises which includes hallways, labs, libraries, cafeterias, etc. The drive also created awareness on scarcity of electricity and water management. The student volunteers also provided few guidelines on keeping campus clean and green, further for saving electricity and water management. An information dissemination session was mediated in the form of presentation which was run across all the divisions of the management department, where in final year BBA students volunteers presented the mentioned activity in detail. The final year student volunteers encouraged the students to contribute their part in the activity planned with zeal and enthusiasm and they were open to suggestions for improving the drive as well.
National Youth Day
The Department of Management (Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru as a part of Department level extension service observed “National Youth Day” on 12th January 2022. With an objective of imbibing the attention of youth especially students with Vivekananda’s philosophy and ideals, the department extension activity in association with Karnataka Civil Defense Corps organized webinar for all the BBA Students on the theme “Role of Youth in Nation Building” on 12th January 2022 at 10.30 am. The chief guest and the resource person for the session was Dr. S. Sateesh Bino IPS, Assistant Director, Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy. He addressed the students on the role of youth in nation development. The session was very lively as Dr. Sateesh shared his rich experience in the field and also briefed the students on how to be smart and confident in carrying out a particular assignment. The students were very interactive during the session and also raised questions about UPSC Examinations and Training provided. The session provided an insight to the students on what their role and responsibilities are towards the society and also the empowerment provided by Swami Vivekananda in influencing the youth of the nation.
Akshara and Computer Literacy Programme
The BBA Department of Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous) launched two programmes named Akshara and Computer Literacy Programme as department Level Extension Activity on 1st December 2021 at Government Higher Primary School, Kothanur. Akshara plans to engage the children of migrant construction workers and the Computer literacy programme aims to educate the higher primary school students on the basics of computer.
This Flagship event of the department was launched on 01st December 2021 by Prof. Surendranath Reddy, Head, Department of Management and Ms. Glady Head Mistress, Government Higher Primary School, Kothanur. Prof. Manjunath S, Faculty, Department of Management; Prof. Chandrasekhar, Faculty, Department of Kannada were also a part of the inaugural. The events Akshara and Computer Literacy Programme will be executed as per the schedule and the classes will be engaged by BBA Student volunteers from 1/12/2021 to 30/03/2022.
NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY
The Department of Management as a part of Department level extension service observed “NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP DAY” on 16th November 2021. With an objective of imbibing a sense of Entrepreurship and to motivate them to become future entrepreneurs the department organized various events for the students of each year according to the need. The first year students participated in a programme called “KNOW YOUR ENTREPRENEUR” in which each and every student of the class was divided into groups of 5 to 6 members and where asked to present the contribution of an Entrepreneur of their choice. This activity was well participated by the first year BBA students were each student got to know about the contribution an Entrepreneur and also they got an opportunity to exhibit their skills before a group of audience which also stimulated confidence among them.
The second year students participated in LOGO DESIGNING event where each student who wanted and aspired to become an entrepreneur designed the LOGO of their future business and explained about what the logo talks about during their class hours. The final year students as they are the immediate budding entrepreneur were a part of an online Webinar on "OVERVIEW OF SECURITY MARKET AND CAREER GROWTH " the session was handled by a renowned guest speaker Mr. Prabhakaran who is a certified stock market trainer. The webinar gave students an insight about the working model of stock exchange in India and also they got few insights about how to trade in the stock market as the guest speaker threw some light about how to trade in stock exchange and at the end of the session Mr. Prabhakaran also shared about how students can pursue their career in stock market with the help of National Institute od Securities Market and the certifications they have to undergo inorder to become a trader which helped students to know about Career Growth.
National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas
National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas has been celebrated on the 31st of October every year since 2014 to mark the birth anniversary of the man who played a crucial role in the unification of India – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who is known as the “IRON MAN OF INDIA”. He is known for being the pillar of support behind the unification of India to form a country out of a cluster of princely states.
As a mark of commemorating this auspicious day, the Department of Management Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous) celebrated the Commemoration of Sardar Vallabhai Patel Birthday- NATIONAL UNITY DAY on 31st October 2021 to create awareness among students to know about the man who reaffirmed the inherent strength and resilience to our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to our country’s unity, integrity, and security.
As a part of the Department Level Extension activity, the Department of Management organized two events - Poster Making and an Online quiz focussing on creating awareness among the BBA students about the efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in bringing harmony and unity among the citizens of the country. The students of BBA were asked to create posters of their creativity on the theme of unity. An online quiz was organized in order to promote awareness among students about Sardar Vallabhai Patel and his contribution to bringing peace and unity among the people of the nation.
The competitions saw enthusiastic and overwhelming responses and participation from the students.
Department Level Extension activity
The Department of Management as a part of Department Level Extension activity organized a cleanliness awareness drive among the children’s of migrant construction workers located at K.Narayanapura and Kothanur on the 1st and 2nd of October 2021 as a mark of commemorating the 152nd Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
The drive was conducted by the students of the fifth semester in two different localities with the support of the teacher coordinator and class animators. Students conducted the drive and created awareness about cleanliness and its importance in the current scenario. The students made children involve in the activity by explaining to them about Gandhiji and his principles. They emphasized the relevance of cleanliness and also provided them with some of the ways in which they can keep their environment clean and neat.
On the 2nd of October 2021, the Department organized competitions in Poetry writing, Creative writing and Poster making for their III semester BBA students. An awareness programme promoting Gandhian thoughts was also conducted. The I Semester BBA students participated in the online Quiz which focused on creating awareness about Gandhian Taught and Philosophy.
The day was special for both the student participants and the community. The day created a lot of awareness on cleanliness, health and hygiene. It also brought happiness and joy among the participants as they were involved in real time learning.
“Akshara” with an objective to Educate and Empower
With a view of providing Holistic education the Department of Management (BBA), Kristu Jayanti College is organized “Akshara” with an objective to Educate and Empower. “Akshara” is an extension activity planned by the department focusing on educating the needy children of the society. As a mark of commemorating 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021 the faculty members of the department joined hands together to serve the needy children with basic study materials focusing on supporting the future generation to educate and learn. On the other hand due to pandemic the students of the department were also asked to participate in the programme by helping the children in their neighbouhood by supporting and helping them to study by providing books, pencils, pens or any other basic teaching aid required to study.
The activity planned by the department was executed on 15th August 2021at K.Narayanapura, Bangalore where the faculty members visited a particular locality and contributed books, and other basic stationary items for about 60 children’s who need a helping hand for their education. The programme was well executed on time from around 9:30 to 10:40AM. The faculty members involved themselves by taking to the kids engaging them and by distributing study materials. Along with study material for kids the department also distributed 500 masks (For children’s as well as elders) to the residence of K.Narayanapura and spoke to them about the importance of wearing a mask during pandemic. On a whole the programme provided lot of awareness among the faculty members by emphazing their need towards children’s who are ready to study but need their support.
Commemorating World Water Day - Poster presentation
Water does not merely help us survive, but it is significant for our day to day functioning. It has numerous uses when we come to think about it. Majority of our earth is covered with water itself, but not all of it is safe for consumption. Therefore, it makes it essential for us to utilize this transparent substance chemical wisely. Moreover, if we look at the shortage of water happening in our country, it makes it all the more important to conserve it immediately. Our earth is covered with two third of water, but the percentage of fresh water is only 0.002%, let’s act before it’s too late on this World Water Day.
As a mark of commemorating World Water Day the Department of Management had organised a Poster presentation or video presentation or PowerPoint presentation on how to save and conserve water for the future generation on 22/03/2021. The first year students of BBA Energetically took part in the activity by presenting their creative poster and power point slides which enriched the student community by creating awareness on Water conservation which is Sustainable Development Goal 6.
“Resposible Celebration”
Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College organized a “Resposible Celebration” activity as a part of Department extension service from 13th November 2020 to 20th November 2020 for BBA Students exclusively. The programme focuses on showing responsibility towards the society and environment by students during the festival time with the caption “Let’s celebrate responsibly for better cause”. This extension programme was initiative of the department of management to encourage students to celebrate the festival with social concern and personal safety.

The alarming situation of the environment made each student to be responsible during the celebration time. This activity conducted by the department as an extension service focussed on providing awareness to the students to safeguard themselves as well as the environment for the benefit of the society. A total of 31 BBA students participated in the activity by celebrating without harming the environment and an inclusive celebration with their neighbours by following all the safety measures. The programme was successful with the participation of the students.
“Social Initiative for a Social Cause”
Department of Management, Kristu Jayanti College is organized a “Social Initiative for a Social Cause” activity as a part of Department extension service from 5th November 2020 to 10th November 2020 for BBA Students exclusively. The programme focuses on creating awareness and adopting social measures that were taken by students during this current pandemic situation with a tag line “We stand together to make a difference”. This extension programme was an initiative of the department of management to create awareness among the youth regarding the social responsibilities towards the environment.
The major aim of conducting such an activity is to motivate students and to engage them into social activities to serve to the society at large. The new normal has changed the life of many citizens all over the world. This activity conducted by the department as extension service focussed on providing help to the needy people to overcome the current pandemic and to serve the needy at times. A total of 102 BBA students participated in the activity by helping out people and children’s of the society. The BBA students lent a helping hand to the needy people of the locality by providing them food, shelter, taking classes for children’s and providing other basic needs. The programme was successful with the participation of the students.

The department of management inaugurated Social Responsibility Week 2020 on 06/01/2019 January at 3.00 pm in Mini auditorium I (Administrative Block). The theme for the week was “Sustainable Development Goals”. The chief guest for the day was Dr Dinesh S Dave Professor and head of the department of computer information system, supply chain management John Walker College North Carolina USA, Miss Sashmeeta Mulmi director strategies engagement of international justice mission, Mr Santhosh Abraham Vice President of NASSCOM. The inauguration begin with Prof. Haribaskar with prelude and he explained the 2030 agenda of UN in sustainability development and how important it is for students to contribute towards the social development. This was followed by Rev. Dr. Fr. Augustine George, the Vice Principal addressing the gathering. In his address, he stated that social responsibility is the outcome of individual responsibility and a minor change will also result in real change. He also mentioned about the college being the Universal hub for United Nations sustainable development goals (UNSDG). Rev. Dr. Augustine George handed over the session to the esteemed chief guest, Dr. Dinesh S Dave Professor and head of the department of computer information system, supply chain management John Walker College North Carolina USA. Who presented various examples of steps taken by various industries and the students in USA towards the sustainability development goal. He made students realize that sustaiablility development and profit making in business can go hand in hand. Then the address was followed by our two Guest of honor Miss Sashmeeta Mulmi director strategies engagement of international justice mission and Mr Santhosh Abraham vice president of NASSCOM, Miss Sashmeeta shared her experience in various rescue mission she was part of in human trafficking and underage commercial sexual exploitation and how they were able to collaborate with government of Karnataka to ensure the end of human trafficking and also to provide decent working conditions and Mr. Santhosh Abraham presented a detailed power point on Company social responsibility with detailed financial figures and comparison of funds over past 5-6 years. He further explained and stressed how technology helps in the sustainability development and to solve various social issues and concluded by encouraging the students to take full advantage of CSR week and the opportunities. The inauguration ended on a high note and served as a great start for the week. In Social Responsibility week there were five events such as: Social Revolution, Social Entrepreneur, Poster Making, Mime, Short Film Screening. 300 students were participated on various events. The first event was Social Revolution on 7th January 2020. In this event students identified a current social problem and came up with practical solution which enables them to think out of the box and contribute to society. On 8th January 2020 Social Entrepreneur and Poster Making was held. In this event students must identify and come up with business ideas that would carter to the needs of the society and support the sustainable development goals. The students must prepare a power point presentation in a team of 2. In Poster making students were given on the spot topic and they were asked to present their views with splash of colors, creativity and art.
On 9th January 2020 Mime event was held. The students were allowed to present various problems and solutions correlated to sustainability development goals in form of theatrical art where teams consisting of 8-10 members performed. On 10th January 2020 Short Film Screening event was held and students were given an opportunity to screen the social issues prevailing in the society.
The Valedictory Ceremony took place on 10th January 2020 at 4:00 pm in Mini Audi I in Admin Block. The Chief Guest was Dr. Alosiyus Edward, Dean of Commerce and Management Department followed by Prof. Surendranth Reddy, Head of Department of Management, Faculty Coordinators, Prof. Gincy Charles and Prof. Haribaskar and Student Coordinators, Ms. Anaswara and Mr.Vinod. Dr. Alosiyus addressed the gathering where he took turns and appreciated the Head of Management Department for their enthusiasm in conducting such a special week followed by Faculty Coordinators and Student Coordinators who facilitated all the events and ensured that there is maximum level of participation and eventually expressed his happiness to the audience who consisted of participants and students. He also quoted "The root of CSR is ISR" followed by highlighting the fact that humanity and existence without ISR is no humanity and existence. The winners and runners up of each event was then announced by Prof. Gincy and they were felicitated with certificates. The 'Best performing class' trophy was won by 2nd sem BBA 'D' section. The vote of thanks was then delivered by Mr. Vinod. The ceremony concluded with the Jayanthian anthem. Overall it was a memorable experience to count upon.
The Social Responsibility week was a fruitful one by serving its objective of creating awareness among students about the sustainable development goals and students showcased their enthusiasm in participation. It was an endeavoring week for the students.
Swachh Campus Drive
Department of Management organised an Extension Activities Swachh Campus Drive. The Theme of this Initiative is “Save Energy and Resources”. It was held on 24th July, 2019 from 2pm to 3pm. Students were part of the extension activities committee volunteered for this initiative. The main motive of this initiative is to spread awareness about keeping the college campus and surroundings clean. The students made badges to create awareness and started this campaign on the right path by cleaning up dry waste and disposing it in the correct manner. It is the responsibility of every student to maintain cleanliness at all times and be environment friendly. Students reached out to every class and shed light on how everyone can contribute towards protecting the environment and resources. This campaign was a wonderful start towards conservation and cleanliness of our environment and similar activities will be organised for greater outcomes.
