Exactica’24: Forensic Science PG Fest

The Forensic Science Club, Department of Forensic Science organised the First edition of Exactica’24, a postgraduate fest on November 8, 2024. It was organised for their first-year counterparts by PG Final Year students in order to develop forensic skills, foster creativity, and encourage teamwork.
In the inaugural session, Ms. Swathi K.V. , Application Head, Daily Rounds Marrow, Bengaluru presided as chief guest and the presidential address was given by Rev Fr. Dr. Lijo P Thomas.
The fest started with preliminary round of various events on 5th and 7th November. The first-year cohort of 40 students was divided into five teams, each inspired by popular crime series and documentaries namely Mind hunters, The Sherlocks, The Clue Cult, CSI Squad and NCIS Ninjas.
The fest featured seven distinct events, each coordinated by students and designed to challenge participants across a spectrum of forensic disciplines:
1. Sleuth-hound – Detective Personality Contest
2. Quick-wit Summit – Debate Event
3. Eye of Enquiry – Case Presentation
4. Megamind Mayhem – Quiz Event
5. Truth Hunters – Video Documentary/Forensic Journalism
6. CSI’s Canvas – Comic-Book Artist Event
7. Triumph Trials – Role-play Event
The event concluded with Team Mind hunters being crowned the overall champions, while The Clue Cult secured the runners-up position. Exactica’24 was a successful, enjoyable experience, blending learning with competition and fostering a strong spirit of collaboration within the field of forensic science.
Atrium 2024, Intra-collegiate UG Forensic Science Fest

The Forensic Science club, Department of Forensic Science organized Atrium 2024, intra-collegiate UG forensic science fest for first and second year undergraduate students of forensic science. This forensic fest aimed at discovering students’ knowledge and understanding of the subject as it offered a wide range of science related events.
The event was organized by the student secrataries of the Forensic Science club and Fest coordinators at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore. The final year students formed the working group and were event and team organisers. The participants included the first and second year Forensic Science students.
The high- spirited forensic fest started with preliminary rounds of various events on 9th September 2024. 20 teams formed by the students participated in good spirit.
Team names were inspired from famous forensic pioneers or achievers both from India and abroad like Bertillon, Lattes, Jeffreys, M S Rao, HC Bose, Marsh etc.
The events held were:
1 - X-Word -A crossword event.
2 - Cross Examination - A case study presentation event.
3 – Crime Chronicles - A news reporting event.
4 - Crimetoonist - A sketching event.
5 - i-Witness - An observation game.
6 - Life Jacket - A role play event.
7 - Unravel the Enigma - A Crime fiction writing event
8 - Wiz Quiz - A Forensic Science quiz event.
9 - Room of Opinions - A debate event.
10 - Tail a Trail - A treasure hunt event.
11 – Screen Battles - A short flim making event.
12 – Mind Benders – A riddle solving event
13 – Spontanea - A Public speaking event
14 – Detective Doodle – A Pictionary event
15 - Sherlock & Watson - A personality type contest with a forensic theme.
The inaugural ceremony of the fest was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dr. Augustine George , Principal, Kristu Jayanti College and and the chief guest was Mr. Senthil Kumar C S, Founder and COO, Pro axis solutions, Bangalore. In his presidential address, father enlightened about importance of forensic science and its scope in everyday life. Mr. Senthil Kumar C S spoke about the need for forensic enthusiasts to be in touch with everyday happenings and to look out for advancements in the field. He encouraged students to keep upskilling and following their dreams and motivated them to use opportunities provided during such fests to empower themselves.
In the valedictory ceremony, Fr. Deepu Joy, Director Student Welfare Office, Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore exhorted the students to keep trying and giving their best in fests such as this. They also felicitated the winners of various events and appreciated the Forensic Science club secretaries and Fest coordinators for having conducted the forensic fest successfully.
Inter-Collegiate Fest - ‘Inquisitor’
The Forensic Science club, Unit of Forensic Science organized Inquisitor 2023, inter-collegiate forensic fest for students of forensic science in other colleges based in India. This forensic fest aimed at discovering students’ knowledge and understanding of the subject as it offered a wide science related events.
The event was organized by the student coordinators of the Forensic Science club at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore. The BSc Forensic Science students at Kristu Jayanti College formed the working group and were event and team organisers. The participants included the Forensic Science students from 4 different institutes across India.
The fest was executed with a total of 7 events and was organized at its best of quality. The fest was conducted offline in the college campus. The high- spirited forensic fest started with preliminary rounds of various events on 20th February, 2024.
The participants were given participant codes to ensure fairness and none of the internal students participated and the event was open only for external participants.

He encouraged students to keep upskilling and following their dreams and motivated them to use opportunities provided during such fests to empower themselves.

Joshy Mathew, Director, Library and Information Centre Director, HR Department Head, Department of English, Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore exhorted the students to keep trying and giving their best in fests such as this. Felicitation of the winners of various events and overall winners were announced.

The Forensic Science club, Department of Forensic Science organized Atrium 2023, intra-collegiate UG forensic science fest for first and second year undergraduate students of forensic science. This forensic fest aimed at discovering students’ knowledge and understanding of the subject as it offered a wide range of science related events.

In his presidential address, father enlightened about importance of forensic science and its scope in everyday life. Mr.Shirishgouda spoke about the need for forensic enthusiasts to be in touch with everyday happenings and to look out for advancements in the field. He encouraged students to keep upskilling and following their dreams and motivated them to use opportunities provided during such fests to empower themselves.

INQUISITOR – Inter-Collegiate Forensic Science Fest 2023

The Forensic Science club, Unit of Forensic Science organized Inquisitor 2023, inter-collegiate forensic fest for students of forensic science in other colleges based in India. This forensic fest aimed at discovering students’ knowledge and understanding of the subject as it offered a wide science related events.
The event was organized by the student coordinators of the Forensic Science club at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore. The BSc Forensic Science students at Kirstu Jayanti College formed the working group and were event and team organisers. The participants included the Forensic Science students from 4 different institutes across India.
The fest was executed with a total of 7 events and was organized at its best of quality. The fest was conducted offline in the college campus. The high- spirited forensic fest started with preliminary rounds of various events on 10th March, 2023.
The participants were given participant codes to ensure fairness and none of the internal students participated and the event was open only for external participants.
7 events were organized which included - Crimetoonist (Sketching), i-witness (Observation test), X-Word (Crossword), Cross examination (Case study presentation), Wiz Quiz (Forensic Quiz), Room of Opinions (Debate), and Sherlock Holmes (Personality contest).
The inaugural ceremony of the fest was presided over by Fr. Augustine George, Prinncipal, Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore and the guest of honour was Mr. Premjith, Director, Infosec-Texial Cyber Security, Bangalore. In his presidential address, father enlightened about importance of forensic science and its scope in everyday life. Mr. Premjith spoke about the existing avenues in Forensic Science and the future scopes. He encouraged students to take up newer domains and fields which are coming up in the field. He exhorted the faculty members to take up newer topics and help the students evolve into newer and brighter minds.
In the valedictory ceremony, Fr. Jais V Mathew, Fiancial Administrator and Dr Calistus Jude, Dean, Faculty of Science, Kristu Jayanti College felicitated the winners of various events and appreciated the Forensic Science club coordinators for having conducted the forensic fest successfully.

Intra-collegiate Forensic Science fest – ATRIUM 2022
Date: 11th February 2022
The annual intra-collegiate forensic science fest, - Atrium 2022, took place on 11th February, 2022. The fest was organized by the Forensic Science club, Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore. The final year students were the team mentors and the event heads. The fest was actively participated by the students of first and second year BSc. Forensic Science.
The events included 8 co-curricular events which tested science related skills in the participants and 7 extra-curricular events which were skill based and fun filled.
The events included Crucipher (Crossword), Crime Travel (Case study presentation), Internal Affairs (Just A Minute), Think Detective (Online Treasure hunt) etc.
The highlight event was named Sherlock Holmes and took the participants through a series of investigative rounds to identify the winner who was titled “Sherlock Holmes” and the runner up “Dr. Watson”. The events were interesting and the students participated with full energy.
The fest was inaugurated by a formal session. The chief guest, Ms. Maalini Ramalo, Director for Social Protection, Development of Human Resources for Rural Areas (DHRRA), Malaysia inaugurated the session with a talk on her role in the DHRRA. The presidential address was delivered by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Augustine George who stressed on the need for skill based learning among students pursuing higher education.
INQUISITOR 22 - Inter-collegiate Forensic Science Fest
The Unit of Forensic Science at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore conducted a week-long virtual inter-collegiate forensic science fest named ‘Inquisitor-2022’ between 04-08 April 2022. The fest was organized with the purpose of collaborating students of forensic science from different institutions across the country and provide them a platform to test their skills and learn. Close to 100 participants from 5 institutions across India took part in this virtual gathering.
The fest was inaugurated the final day of the fest by Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Retd. Joint Director, Chhattisgarh and was presided by Fr. Joshy Mathew, Director of Library, Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore. Dr. Rakesh Gupta listed the many developments in the field of forensic science in India in the recent years and highlighted the ways in which students pursuing forensic science can benefit from them. He also encouraged the participants to test their skills in platforms such as these and use them to grow into better scientists and help the field improve in India. Fr. Joshy Mathew commended the efforts of the unit of forensic science and the forensic science club at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore and thanked the coordinators of the different institutions who took part in the fest.
The week long fest had interesting events such as crimetoonist (a composite sketching event), crime travel (case study presentation event), Think detective (puzzle solving event), canvas (e-poster designing event), trial by trivia (forensic quiz event), Sherlock & Watson (case solving event) etc. and participants from across India could showcase their abilities and test their skills. The events were highly fought and also fun-filled and it improved the team-work, problem-solving and critical thinking skills in the participants.
The week ended with a valedictory ceremony where the winners of the different events were announced and the institution which bagged the overall competition was also announced.
Intra-collegiate UG Forensic Fest- ATRIUM 2021

The Unit of Forensic Science, Department of Life Sciences with the support and management of Kristu Jayanti College organized Atrium 2021, intra-collegiate forensic fest for first and second year undergraduate students of forensic science. This forensic fest aimed at discovering students’ knowledge and understanding of the subject as it offered a wide science related events. The events were conducted by the teachers of the unit of forensic science. The fest was executed with a total of 10 events and was organized at its best of quality. The fest was conducted online due to the pandemic situation using the ZOOM platform. The high- spirited forensic fest started with preliminary rounds of various events on 3rd March 2021.
Atrium, being the first forensic fest in the college the theme was maintained at crime and investigation. With respect to this the events were also organized accordingly. There were a total of ten event planned for the students to participate in. Cognitionis- the quiz event had a preliminary round and time limit was given for each question to be answered. This kept the students on their feet even though the competition was virtual. Events like Scleus Fabula tested their writing and intuitive skills as the vent dealt with write a crime story but based scientifically. Bringing out the forensic scientist or the detective within them events like Inquisitor, Obscura, Fortitudo aimed at testing their investigation, intuitive, observation skills respectively. Events like Parle (debate), Pictura (Logo Designing), and Prescripta (sketching) were organized and these tested their artistic skills. Realis (the documentary contest) was themed as “Water - the essence of life”. The last event was Qualis which was based on the best participation and performance of the students.
