The Department of History, Kristu Jayanti College in association with the Europe Studies, Programme, NIAS, Bengaluru, organized an international lecture on the topic ‘Europe at Cross Roads’. The Speaker of the event is Mr. Gert Heijkoop, Counsel General, Kingdom of Netherlands. The session started with a welcome speech by Prof Ramya B from Kristu Jayanti College and introductory remarks by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel P.J. Mr. Gert addressed current issues of Russia, the Ukraine War, What is Happening with China, China’s position and its intentions, New bi-polar World- U.S & China, and presented strategies for how Western Europe has proceeded. Later the session was open for a question and answer session, where the young students from both institutions posed different questions. Overall the session was wonderful and very fruitful. Finally, the session came to an end with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Stephen Deepak, Dept. of Management Studies and member of the international relations committee, Kristu Jayanti College.
