OVERVIEW AND SCOPE OF MAJOR DISCIPLINES

Biotechnology
Biotechnology harnesses the power and prowess of the living world to address issues and offer solutions in the areas of research, health-care, agriculture, and environment. It is a multi-disciplinary science involving a variety of distinct subjects where living organisms or their derivatives are modified and put into effective use in catering the welfare of humanity. Applications of Biotechnology have been found in several sectors including Agriculture, Food Science and Medicine. The course introduces the students to detailed study of Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Recombinant DNA Technology, Genetic Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Immunology, Industrial Biotechnology and Plant Biotechnology.

Forensic Science
Forensic Science deals with the application of science for the purposes of justice. Graduates of the forensic science program can go on to become service providers in government Forensic Science Laboratories, Police establishments, Intelligence Bureaus, Questioned Document examination units, forensic audit units, etc. They can also be a part of private organizations that carry out work in private investigation, Questioned Document examination, forensic auditing, computer forensics, fingerprinting, etc.

The college and its offices will remain closed from 23rd to 25th December 2024 due to end-semester vacation. |
