Effective Delegation and Organizational Authority program was conducted on 5th November 2024 and presented by Lorenzo Josiah W. Kharbuli and Yeshwanth R., guided by course teacher Dr. Surjit Singha.

The programme was coordinated and led by Dr. Surjit Singha, Course Teacher for "Entrepreneurship in Forensic Science."

Methods and Process of Generating Ideas; Assessing Opportunities; Forms of Business Organization: Presented by Deepashree B C, Shayan Chakraborty, Steffy Sania S, and Vishan Dayana Veigas. This presentation provided a foundational understanding of the techniques for generating innovative business ideas and assessing their viability in the market. The team also covered the various types of business structures, detailing their advantages and limitations.

Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, Corporations, Limited Liability Company (LLC): Presented by Chandru R, Chennampalli Naga Vasanth Sai, Varun B, and Snehit. This group discussed different legal forms of business ownership, highlighting the unique characteristics and tax implications of sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and LLCs. Real-life examples were used to illustrate the most suitable structures for forensic startups.

E-Business: Meaning, Features, E-Commerce, and E-Markets; B2B Models: Presented by Gayatri R and Sneha M. This segment explored the meaning and importance of e-business in the digital age, along with its features and applications within forensic science. The team introduced B2B e-commerce models, discussing how digital marketplaces facilitate the exchange of goods and services between businesses.

B2C and C2C Models, Digital Commerce, Mobile Commerce, Emergence of E-Governance in India, E-Business Applications: Presented by Disha R H, Michelle Roy Morris, and Koyal Suresh Jadhav. This presentation probed into customer-centric e-business models like B2C and C2C, as well as the impact of mobile commerce on consumer behavior. The group also discussed the rise of e-governance initiatives in India and their implications for forensic services.

E-Business: Meaning, Features, E-Commerce, and E-Markets; B2B Models: Presented by Mathangi Nandini Anandrao, P V Mriya Munesh, Shubhanki Agarwal, Varsha Y. This group gave an in-depth analysis of e-business and its relevance in today’s market. They discussed B2B e-commerce models and how these can be implemented in forensic ventures to enhance collaboration and efficiency.

B2C and C2C Models, Digital Commerce, Mobile Commerce, Emergence of E-Governance in India, E-Business Applications: Presented by Jiya Mary John, Libin Joy, Rose Pallippattu. This presentation covered consumer-focused e-business models, such as B2C and C2C, alongside the impact of mobile commerce. They also addressed the role of e-governance in India, emphasizing the potential for e-business applications in forensic practices.

The Student Development Programme provides an engaging platform for students to learn about entrepreneurship in forensic science. Organized under the guidance of Dr. Surjit Singha, the programme featured well-researched and insightful presentations, covering the essential steps of generating business ideas, selecting suitable business structures, and leveraging digital business models.

The second group, led by Arti Dabade, Kinjal K Gadkari, Mogarkar Shreyas Kiran, and Mogarkar Tejal Deepak, explored the core elements that define entrepreneurship, discussing the essential skills required and the external factors that influence entrepreneurial success. Factors affecting entrepreneurship development, attributes of entrepreneurs, and skill gap analysis.

The final group, Abigail Sunil, Additiya Sengupta, Eavan Charles Mathew, and Prerna Kailash Chatlani, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship innovation and explored various methods for safeguarding intellectual property, types of innovation and methods of protecting innovation, including branding, trademarks, copyrights, and registered design protection.

To infuse creativity into the study of business economics for 2nd Semester BCom section C & T, the course teacher has introduced a series of engaging art projects tailored to enhance students' understanding of key economic concepts. These innovative activities, designed to complement traditional teaching methods, aim to make learning interactive and enjoyable while encouraging students to apply economic principles in practical and imaginative ways. Among the guidelines for business economics art projects, students were encouraged to explore various artistic mediums to represent economic concepts visually. Infographic design, for instance, allows students to create visually appealing graphics illustrating complex economic ideas such as supply and demand or market structures. Through the use of charts, graphs, and illustrations, students were able to communicate economic theories clearly and engagingly effectively. Another activity was the visualization of business plans or entrepreneurial ideas. By developing concept maps, flowcharts, or diagrams, students articulated various business model components, including target market, value proposition, revenue streams, and cost structure. This exercise enhanced students' understanding of business concepts and fostered their entrepreneurial mindset and strategic thinking skills.

Students had the opportunity to express economic concepts through cartoons or comic strips. By humorously illustrating economic theories or real-world issues, students demonstrated their understanding of economic principles and engaged in critical thinking and artistic expression. Moreover, students transformed financial statements into artistic representations, interpreted economic scenarios through dioramas or models, or explored the intersection of art and finance by creating artworks inspired by stock market trends. Under the theme of promoting cultural preservation and awareness, the students were tasked with selecting specific World Heritage Sites as inspiration for their creations.

The projects, which spanned various artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, and mixed media, reflected the students' interpretations of these iconic sites' historical and cultural significance. Before starting their projects, students diligently researched their chosen sites, delving into details such as architectural features, natural landscapes, and unique cultural aspects.

Encouraged to showcase their creativity and originality, students infused their artistic styles and perspectives into their work, resulting in diverse interpretations of the World Heritage Sites. Some students opted to create lifelike replicas of famous monuments and buildings associated with the sites, meticulously capturing intricate details and architectural shades.

Others chose a more abstract approach, creating artistic interpretations that conveyed the essence and spirit of the heritage sites through imaginative compositions and symbolic representations. From the towering pyramids of Giza to the serene landscapes of Machu Picchu, each artwork reflected the students' deep appreciation for global cultural heritage.

Students' Presentation on Business Economics and FMI

The SDP titled "Students' Presentation on Business Economics and FMI" was conducted by the Department of Commerce (UG) in collaboration with the IIC on 2nd May 2023. The purpose of the event was to provide students with a platform to demonstrate their understanding of business economics and the Financial Market and Institutions (FMI) through engaging and informative presentations. The event was coordinated by Dr. Surjit Singha, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce at Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous).

The program was attended by the students of II BCOM, Sections G, and H, as well as IV BCOM, Sections A and D. The students of II BCOM presented on various topics related to business economics, while the students of IV BCOM focused on topics related to the Financial Market and Institutions.

The event commenced with an introduction by Dr. Surjit Singha, highlighting the significance of business economics and FMI in the modern economic landscape. The students then took turns presenting their topics, showcasing their in-depth understanding and knowledge. Each presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session, allowing the audience to clarify doubts and engage in discussions.

Workshop on Basis of Stock Market
Date: 20 to 23 March 2023
Department of Commerce (UG) in association with the Investors club organized a workshop on Basis of the Stock Market. The resource person of the day Mr. Kishore BS started his presentation by asking about the general perception of the stock market. Mr. Kishore explained how companies go for an IPO and what are the criteria for fulfilling the IPO. What are the documents required for opening a Demat account, Types of Approaches in the stock market, Live examples of trading a share in the market, at last, the entire participants are requested to participate in a live trading session which uplifted the skill of trading among the students, All the students actively participated in a stock trading activity which will be enhanced the knowledge in the stock market trading.


Vanijya Darpan 2023- A Business Skills Exhibition

Vanijya Darpan is the annual Intercollegiate Commerce Exhibition hosted every year by the Department of Commerce (UG), Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous). The event focuses on creating a platform for the students to showcase their creativity and bring their academic knowledge into application. The business exhibition was organized by the department of commerce (UG) on 2nd march 2023 with 44 teams with different topics. Shri. Tanvir Singh (Director of Human Resources, Prodapt, Bangalore) inaugurated the event. The winners were rewarded with a cash prize.


Yuvashodhan Club - “Student Research Development Programme”
Date: 15 & 16 February 2023
Day 1:
The Student Research Development Program—Yavashodhan Club, organised by the Department of Commerce (UG) and Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), began its training sessions on February 15, 2023. On the first day of the training, students received research writing skills instruction from Dr. Priyanka Ghosh of the Department of Commerce at Kristu Jayanti College. She gave the students instructions on what research is, how it operates, why writing a research paper is beneficial, and how to style one. She also urged students to come up with fresh study topics in order to develop their research skills. Also, she inspired students to conduct research across a range of topics and to turn their ideas into research. She also provided commentary on the study and information.

Day 2:
Dr. C. Nagadeepa from the Department of Commerce at Kristu Jayanti College gave students research skills instruction on the second day of the training session, February 16th, 2023. She gave the training on how to conduct a “Literature Review” and based on that how to find the Research Gap. Further, she gave insight on “How to develop the objectives” based on the research gap. She taught the students the value of conducting research, the characteristics of a successful researcher, and how to inspire the students to conduct research.

Department of Commerce (UG) in association with the Institution's Innovation Council Organised Student Development Programme (SDP) on 22 November 2022. Twenty-four students presented their topics, such as the Legal Aspects – Business Ownership, Sales and Income Tax and Workman Compensation Act, Clearances and permits required, formalities, licensing and registration procedures, Definition of Women Entrepreneurs, Factors influencing Women Entrepreneurs, Problems of Women Entrepreneurs and Remedial Measures, Development of Women Entrepreneurs and Women Entrepreneurship, Association Promoting women entrepreneurs, Stand up India schemes for women-Central and State level. Start-up India Schemes- Central Government initiative for start-up, Start-up Karnataka. Make in India Schemes, Ease of Doing Business, Industrial Corridors: Sectors-IT, Tourism, Food processing.

Naveen Singh won the first position, Nita Subba won the second position, and Mantesha Zoha won the third. Asmi Roy, Ashwin Ashok, and Nikita Kumari received consolation prizes. Mr. Surjit Singha, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Commerce, was the faculty event coordinator for the SDP.

Topics includes importance of statistics in business, commerce, and economy. Its usage in decision-making, to understand the markets, advertisement decision making, pricing, changes in consumer demand, and policy formulation.

Dr. Raja Kamal Ch and Mr. Surjit Singha has given a detail information about the business analytics and its importance also discussed the present job opportunities for business analytics.

Four teams presented their topics on the Concept of entrepreneur and entrepreneurship, characteristics of entrepreneurs, types of entrepreneurs; Factors influencing entrepreneurship, the meaning of the idea, sources of a new idea - methods of generating ideas; Opportunities recognising - Product planning and development process, latest policies of the government towards entrepreneurship, Creating and starting venture; Business plans, the scope of business plans, format of a business plan, a brief idea about an institutional support system. Nandana P, Pooja Sharma, Riza Asfeen, S Sneha, and Sanjay Kumar G won the first position; Abhina Mol, Aishwariya D, Shalini K, Sneha S, Varun C won the second position; and Aben Bibil Varghese, Aishwarya Nagarajan, Maadhesh B, Rahul Manoj, S Gopinath won the third position.
