Industrial tour to Hyderabad, Telangana

The Department of Commerce PG organized a three-day industrial tour to Hyderabad, Telangana, from 7th to 9th November, 2024. This tour aimed to offer III Semester M. Com and M. Com FA students’ practical exposure to industries and cultural heritage, enhancing their understanding of business operations and historical significance in Hyderabad. The tour provided 44 students with real-world business insights and cultural experiences. The tour included five key visits: Masqati Dairy provided insights into dairy processing, quality control, and supply chain management. Ramoji Film City offered a look into entertainment industry logistics and event management. Charminar exposed students to the economic impact of heritage tourism. Salar Jung Museum allowed exploration of cultural preservation and tourism’s role in local economies. Lumbini Garden provided a tranquil space for reflection. This tour successfully blended academic learning with exposure to practical business and cultural heritage, enriching students’ overall educational journey.
Industrial Tour to Hyderabad
The Department of Commerce PG organized Two-Day Industrial Tour to Hyderabad from 28th October, 2023 to 30th October 2023 for the benefits of III Semester M.Com & M.Com FA Students. A total of 56 students accompanied by two faculty members Dr.Pushpa A and Dr. Mohan Kumar R have visited one industry in Hyderabad such as Masqati Dairy Company, Alijah Kotla, Yakutpura, Etebar Chowk, Hyderabad – 500 002 and other tourist places of Hyderabad such as Ramoji Film City, Salar Jung Museum, Charminar and NTR gardens.
Practical exposures about Industries are really important for the PG students to have better understanding of the subjects taught in their PG programme. This industrial tour provided the students a real time exposure of learning and experiencing various functional areas of company and acquire hands-on acquaintances on the day-to-day business operations of the Industry. The students were exposed to various heritages, customs, taboos and cultures of Hyderabad. They were also exposed to the art of movie making & various other attractions of Ramoji Film City. They also attended the expert speeches delivered by the CEOs and field managers on the day-to-day functions of the Company.
Industrial Tour to Hyderabad
The Department of Commerce (PG) organized Three-Day Industrial Tour to Hyderabad from 29th October, 2022 to 31st October 2022 for the benefits of III Semester M.Com & M.Com FA Students. A total of 48 students accompanied by two faculty members visited two industries such as Kwality Electronic Industries, Electronic Complex, Kushaiguda, Hyderabad – 500 062 and Masqati Dairy Company, Alijah Kotla, Yakutpura, Etebar Chowk, Hyderabad – 500 002 and other tourist places of Hyderabad such as Ramoji Film City, Golconda Fort, Salar Jung Museum, and Lumbini Park.
The students were escorted by two faculty members of the department – Prof.Madhudruvakumar and Dr.T.K.Murugesan. This Industrial Tour has provided the III Semester M.Com and M.Com FA Students a platform to learn about various functional areas of the two companies and acquire practical exposures on the day-to-day operations of the two companies. They were also exposed to lectures given by the CEOs of the Industries. The students were exposed to various heritages, customs, taboos and cultures of Hyderabad. They were also exposed to the art of movie making & various other attractions of Ramoji Film City. One-Day Industrial Visit at KMF, Mandya, Karnataka
The Department of Commerce (PG) organized a One-Day Industrial Visit at KMF, Mandya, Karnataka on 12th September, 2022 for the benefit of I Semester M.Com & M.Com FA Students. A total of 79 students visited the KMF Industry and were escorted by two faculty members- Dr. Cherian Thomas MS and Prof. Bharti Ranade. In the industry, students saw the entire process of manufacturing milk and milk products. This included the process of collecting milk from nearby villages in 10,000 to 15000 litre capacity tankers, which were then chilled and unloaded in the first compartment of the factory building. The milk collected was then sent into the factory for pasteurization and was packed into 1/4th, ½ and 1 litre packets and chilled in a refrigerator in the second and third compartments respectively.
They also produce milk powder which is shipped out in batches of 1,250 kgs with each single unit weighing 25 kgs. They also produce butter, ghee and some sweets in different compartments of the factory. The whole pasteurization process is powered by steam produced in boiler rooms with the help of coal. This IV has provided the students fraternity with a practical real-business world perspective on different functions of KMF such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, Logistics Management, Inventory Management, etc. This IV aims to bridge the gap between the academic curriculum and the industry.
Industrial Visit (IV)
Department of Commerce PG organized One-Day Industrial Visit at NSL Sugars Limited, Madur, Karnataka on 6th January, 2020 for the benefits of II Semester M.Com & M.Com FA Students. Total 91 students escorted by 2 faculty members visited the Industry. NSL Sugars Limited (NSL) is one of the most efficient sugar companies in south India and a sugar arm of ‘NSL’ group. NSL Group entered the ‘sugar’ business being related to agro- commercial crop business.
Industrial Visit is considered as one of the tactical methods of learning real-time applications. The main aim of the Industrial Visit is to provide an exposure to students about practical working environment and it also provides students a good opportunity to gain an inclusive awareness about industrial practices. Through industrial visit, students can know things practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Moreover, it gives exposure from academic point of view. After visiting an industry, students can gain a combined knowledge about both theory and practical. Students will be more concerned about earning a job after having an industrial visit.
This industrial visit provided the students with a practical real-business world perspective on different functions of NSL such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, Logistics Management, Inventory Management, etc.
Learning Outcome:
• Students were exposed to various functional areas of the Industry and they acquired practical knowledge on different operations of the industry. They were also exposed to lectures given by the CEOs of the Industry.
• The practical exposures about Industry are really important for the PG students to have better understanding of the subjects taught in the programme.
The students and faculty coordinators had a real time experience on different functional areas of NSL and it has also provided the students a platform to learn the day-to-day workings of the Industry and understand its operational issues of various functional areas of the Industry. This visit also helped the students to keep update regarding the current management practices followed by the company and acquire traits that the industry demands from them.

Department of Economics PG organized a three-day industrial tour to Hyderabad from 28.09.2019 to 02.10.2019. A total of 81 students and 3 faculty members visited various places in Hyderabad. Dr M. Krishnamoorthy, Ms A. Pushpa, & Dr K. Sivasubramanian were the faculty coordinators who accompanied III M. Com, III M. Com FA & III MA Economics students for the industrial tour to Hyderabad. The places visited by our students are Salar Jung Museum, Charminar, Ramoji Film City, Hussain Sagar Lake, Lumbani Park. The students along with the faculty members have also visited one of the reputed industries J.K Fenner (India) Limited for acquiring practical knowledge and exposures on various functional areas of the industry. This industrial tour aims to provide the students with a practical real-world perspective on different functions in organizations such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Customer Service, and Logistics.
DAY 1
The first day out was sightseeing and shopping. Students visited Salar Jung Museum, a historical place located on Dar-Ul-Shif on the Southern banks of Musi River in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana which was founded by Mohammed Yousuf Ali Khan (Nawab of Hyderabad). It was constructed in the year 16 December 1951 and inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru. The museum was a historical spot and worth seeing.
DAY 2
Day 2 was scheduled to visit Ramoji Film City. Second day was the favourite part of the trip for most of students. The students visited Ramoji Film City, one of the largest film cities in the world. The students were exposed to the art of movie making & various other attractions of Ramoji Film City such as lights camera action and so on. The students enjoyed every moment of entertainment in the film city which also helped refresh their minds. Later, the students were taken to Lumbini Park for laser light show.
DAY 3
Day 3 was scheduled for an industrial visit to J.K. Fenner (India) Limited. J.K. Fenner organization has ranked among the top industrial houses in India for over 100 years. J.K. Fenner India’s products have been synonymous with quality and stability in Mechanical Power Transmission engineering across the globe for over 145 years offering variety of products like automobile belts and oilseeds- an important part in almost all vehicle segments. This industrial tour has provided the III Semester M. Com, M. Com FA and MA Economics students a platform to learn the steps behind the processing of a product and also has also disseminated information about the functional areas of business innovation. It helped the students acquire practical exposures on the operations of the industry.
