Objective: The objective of the workshop is to support the research scholars and faculty members to understand the process of submitting an application and requesting grant of patent for any invention.

The FDP began with a formal inauguration. Dr. Justin Nelson Micheal, Director Center for Research welcomed the gathering. The Inaugural address was given by Rev. Fr. Josekutty PD, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College.

First session of the day was handled by Dr.Samir Kalekar, Founder of Tekno trends. He gave an overview of Patent filing, Pre-filing and filing requirements. He discussed about places of filing, persons entitled to apply and provisional specification of the invention. He concluded the session with his previous experience of patent filing and type of grant.

The second session was handled by Mr. Nishant Krishna, Software Architect, Extreme Networks. He explained about the documents to be submitted during patent filing, type of publications expected, Type of examinations. He also explained about First Examination Report, Intellectual Property Rights strategies and its approaches.He concluded the session by giving a brief summary on developing, protecting IP and to license it.

Objective: to equip the in- house faculty with SPSS tool to carry our quality research

The CENTRE FOR RESEARCH of Kristu Jayanti College organised a Faculty Development Programme on APPLIED MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS in the month of November 2015. The objective of the programme was equip in-house the faculty members with SPSS tool in carrying out Multivariate analysis to publish empirical research papers and conduct research more effectively. The 12 hour session was held in 4 days - Nov 3, 5, 13 & 17, 2015. The facilitators of the sessions are Dr. Justin Nelson Michael (Director for Research & Faculty of Department of Management) and Prof. Jyothi Manoj ( Department of Statistics). There were 38 participants. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Principal- Rev. Fr. Josekutty P D, Vice- Principal- Rev. Fr. Augustine George, Deans of the three faculties- Dr. Calistus Jude- Dean of Science Deanery, Dr. Gopakumar, Dean of Humanities faculty and Prof. Aloysius Edward (Dean of Commerce and Management)

The topics in the FDP included- Research Methodology, Introduction to SPSS, Univariate statistical tools, Statistical Tests of Significance, Simple and Multiple Regression, Discriminant Analysis, Factor analysis and Cluster analysis. The sessions were successfully completed on 17th November 2015. In the Valedictory address, Principal- Rev. Fr. Josekutty P D appreciated the resource persons and the participants.
