________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Concept of SDG1
One of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015, calls for "no poverty". The official wording is: "to end poverty in all its forms, everywhere". SDG 1 aims to eradicate every form of extreme poverty, including the lack of food, clean drinking water, and sanitation

SDG 1 also calls for the eradication of poverty in all its manifestations. It envisions shared prosperity, a basic standard of living and social protection benefits for people everywhere, including the poorest and most vulnerable. The goal seeks to ensure equal rights and access to economic and natural resources.

Poverty Statistics
Recent estimates for global poverty are that 9.2% of the world, or 689 million people, live in extreme poverty on $1.90 or less a day, according to the World Bank. As per the 2020 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), among 107 developing countries, 1.3 billion people (22 percent) live in multidimensional poverty.
