SDG 1: NO POVERTY
Kristu Jayanti College (India) offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs and hosts several research centers, including one on social work which has conducted projects focused on contemporary social issues. The college wants its students “to realize their potential and make positive contributions leading to prosperity of the society and the nation at large”. Among the core values of the college is to instill in students a dedication to community and a commitment to uplifting marginalized groups. The institution seeks to empower students from different socio-economic backgrounds through education and a culture of community engagement and believes quality education is a powerful weapon to ensure a zero-poverty world. To further this work, the Jayantian Extension Services program was started to develop awareness about social realities, to connect students with underprivileged communities and to empower them to engage in social change.
