Kristu Jayanti College,- a temple of learning , along with its excellence in academics, sports and cultural activities has created a landmark for itself in reaching out to the underprivileged, destitute and morally and socially affected members of the society. All the disciples of this temple of learning are working with a mission to help these members and has undertaken many noteworthy tasks.
SOP is an action programme meant to give a good exposure to students to interact with marginalized. SOP is entrusted with the task of promoting education and skill among poor and the underprivileged. The programme makes the students aware of social issues.
The most significant among them is that our college has adopted a few villages and are working for its overall development. The Social Work department in collaboration with the NSS Wing of our college organizes a blood Donation camp every year.
It is a regular feature among all the departments to organize a social awareness programme in college and to have a hands-on experience programme in nearby villages. Through the camp in villages it is possible to educate and create awareness among the people about the social problems, development programmes available for them through the government , and in general how the villages can work towards their own development by co-coordinating their efforts in an innovated manner. Legal counseling on areas like division of property, settling of dispute over property, The Dowry Act and Legislations on Dowry are given to the people as needed.
Along with all these programmes the scale at which all these activities are conducted has succeeded in creating a buzz among the social activities and many Leading NGO's in and around Bangalore. We are all working with a mission of bringing a significant change in our neighbourhood and society at large
