Synergia 2025 – An Intracollegiate Fest

The School of Computational and Physical Sciences, Department of Physical Sciences, organized the inaugural edition of Synergia 2025, an intra-collegiate fest, on 24 September 2025 at the MI Auditorium, Science Block. The event was uniquely coordinated and conducted by the final year B.Sc. students of the department for their juniors, thereby fostering peer learning, leadership, and academic collaboration. The fest was conceptualized to encourage teamwork, interdisciplinary exchange, and holistic student development while providing a vibrant platform for showcasing talent and innovation.
Inaugural Session
The inauguration commenced with the Presidential Address by Rev. Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Vice Chancellor, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, who emphasized the role of innovation, academic excellence, and interdisciplinary collaboration in fostering holistic development. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Mr. Shinto Joseph, Director – South East Asia & ANZ Operations, LDRA (A Tasking Company), who highlighted the importance of technological expertise, problem-solving abilities, and industry-academia collaboration in preparing students for the future.

These events brought together students from Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Electronics, Economics, and Mathematics, creating an interdisciplinary platform for academic and cultural engagement. The fest recorded an impressive 406 registrations, with over 80 students qualifying for final rounds, reflecting the enthusiasm and active participation of the student community.
Valedictory Session
The valedictory session was presided over by Fr. Deepu Joy, Director, Student Welfare Office, who addressed the gathering and distributed prizes to the winners. He commended the innovative ideas and dedicated efforts of the faculty coordinators and final year B.Sc. students, whose leadership and commitment played a pivotal role in making Synergia 2025 a resounding success.
By integrating academic rigor, teamwork, and interdisciplinary participation, Synergia 2025 not only created a dynamic forum for intellectual engagement but also strengthened peer-to-peer learning within the department. The fest stands as a milestone in the academic calendar of the Department of Physical Sciences, establishing a strong precedent for future intra-collegiate initiatives.
Synergia 2024 - An Intracollegiate Fest

On September 23, 2024, the Department of Physical Sciences held its inaugural Intra collegiate fest, Synergia 2024. The annual intra-collegiate festival Synergia was the event aims to promote camaraderie and teamwork within the department, as well as to tap the unforeseen potential of budding aspirants. Synergia is unique in that it encapsulates students from a plethora of academic fields, including computer science, statistics, physics, electronics, economics, and mathematics. It provides a dynamic arena for young brains to demonstrate their abilities in a range of thought-provoking contests.
The festival featured activities in every category, including foundational subjects where attendees could demonstrate their abilities and find inspiration. Nine events took place, namely PixelPerfect, Tangentize, Resistorix Bitwiz, Articulate Arena: Pick and Speak, Vedika Vichara, StatXplore, Raw 2 Riches, Phystrix, Enchanted Campus. A considerable participation from around 426 students registered for the program and over 70 students qualified for various events' final rounds.
Fr. Dr. Lijo P Thomas, Vice-Principal of KJC, graced the inauguration and Mr. Sandeep Prasad, Senior Infrastructure Project Manager, CGI, was the distinguished chief guest for the inaugural session. The Vice Principal appreciated the efforts poured in by the department; and acknowledged the relevance of intra fests like Synergia in promoting intellectual and cultural development inside the organization.
The chief guest, in his address underlined the fact that understanding scientific principles not only enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills but also fosters a sense of curiosity and innovation. By engaging with these concepts, students are better equipped to tackle the challenges of tomorrow and contribute meaningfully to society. Additionally, events like Synergia provide a platform for collaboration and creativity, inspiring the next generation of leaders in science and technology.
Rev. Fr. Jais V Thomas, Financial administrator addressed the students and distributed the prizes to winners during the valedictory session. He also emphasized the dedicated work and innovative ideas from faculty coordinators and students, who have been instrumental in making Synergia 2024 a massive success.
Intra Collegiate Fest Synergia 2023

The Department of Physical Sciences organized their first Intra Collegiate fest Synergia 2023 on 20th September 2023. Synergia is an annual intra-collegiate fest meticulously arranged by the final-year students of the Physical Sciences Department. It is designed with the purpose of offering their juniors a platform to organize, participate, and unveil their latent potentials. This event is not only an opportunity for the juniors to demonstrate their skills but also a chance to foster fellowship and collaboration within the department.
The uniqueness of Synergia is, bringing together students from various disciplines such as mathematics, physics, electronics, economics, computer science and statistics. It serves as a dynamic platform for young minds to showcase their skills in a series of intellectually stimulating competitions.
The fest offered events of all categories which includes foundation subjects in which the participants could exhibit their skills and be inspired. There were 7 events, namely

Students have explored every avenue to be part of the fest. Despite time constraints, the department received an impressive turnout of registrations, with over 210 students eager to participate. The preliminary rounds took place from September 13th to September 19th, 2023, during which vigilant selections were made, resulting in the qualification of more than 70 students for the final rounds of different events.
Synergia 2023 commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Fr. Dr. Augustine George, the Principal of KJC, who not only presided over the event but also expressed his commendation for the department's efforts in organizing the fest. He emphasized the significance of intra-fests like Synergia in fostering academic and cultural enrichment within the institution.
The esteemed chief guest for the inaugural session was Smt. P.A. Mini, Deputy Director-General at the Data Processing Centre (DPC), National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), under the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, Government of India. In her address, she underscored the paramount importance of physical sciences in our daily lives and highlighted the invaluable core values that students acquire through festivals like Synergia.
The Fest's prelude was eloquently presented by Prof. Divya K S, the Coordinator of the Physical Sciences Club. Following the inaugural session, there was a vibrant promotion of Synergia, setting the stage for the exciting final rounds.
During the valedictory session, Rev. Fr. Joshy Mathew addressed the studnets and give away the prizes. Also He Erphasised on marking the high point of Synergia 2K23. Dedicated efforts and creative thinking from both our students and faculty coordinators, who have played a pivotal role in turning Synergia 2K23 into a resounding success.
Inter Collegiate Fest Prismatrix - 2025

The Department of Physical Sciences held INTER COLLEGIATE FEST PRISMATRIX on January 22, 2025. The annual inter-collegiate festival Prismatrix is unique in that it encapsulates students from a plenty of academic fields, including computer science, statistics, physics, electronics, economics, and mathematics. It provides a dynamic arena for young brains to demonstrate their abilities in a range of thought- provoking contests.
Fr. Dr. Lijo P Thomas, Vice-Principal of KJC, graced the inauguration and Mr. Paul Franklin, Director at PwC, Acceleration Center, Bengaluru, was the distinguished chief guest for the inaugural session. The Vice Principal appreciated the efforts poured in by the department and acknowledged the relevance of inter fests like Prismatrix in promoting intellectual and cultural development. The chief guest, in his address underlined the fact that understanding scientific principles not only enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills but also fosters a sense of curiosity and innovation. A considerable participation from around 11 students registered for the program and over 8 students qualified for various events' final rounds.
Inter Collegiate Fest - Prismatrix 2024

Department of Physical Sciences organized the maiden Intercollegiate fest Prismatrix 2024 on 23rd January 2024. Prismatrix 2024 commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting. The Fest's prelude was eloquently presented by Dr. Shivraj Maidur, the Coordinator of the Physical Sciences Club. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Lijo P Thomas, Vice Principal & Chief Financial Officer of KJC, who not only presided over the event but also expressed his commendation for the department's efforts in organizing the fest. He emphasized the significance of inter-fests like Prismatrix in fostering academic and cultural enrichment among the students.
The esteemed chief guest for the inaugural session was Mr. Vinod Kumar, Associate Vice President, Driving Technological Innovation in Life Sciences R & D, Accenture, Bengaluru. In his address, he remembered his memories in KJC and highlighted how fests helped him to nurture his soft and technical skills.
Prismatrix 2024 witnessed active participation from around 10 colleges, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of the fest. It was heartening to see students from diverse backgrounds converge to celebrate their passion for academic excellence and creativity.

Beyond the academic spectrum, Prismatrix provided a platform for cultural exchange. The interactions between students from different colleges fostered a sense of fellowship and the understanding that surpasses academic boundaries.
