The Department of Physical Science organized a Career Orientation Programme on “Essentials for a Successful Transition from College to Corporate” for the final-year B.Sc. students. The session was facilitated by distinguished alumni Mr. Solomon Thomas and his colleague Mr. Subhojit Banerjee from Fragomen Educational Services.
The orientation focused on preparing students for their journey from academics to the corporate world. The speakers highlighted the opportunities available, the challenges students may face, and practical strategies for adapting to a professional environment. They also shared personal experiences, which helped students gain real-world perspectives and clarity on career planning.
The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to ask questions, clear doubts, and actively engage in discussions. A quiz was also conducted as part of the programme, with winners receiving gift hampers sponsored by Fragomen Educational Services.
Overall, the career orientation proved to be a valuable initiative, equipping students with knowledge, confidence, and the right mindset to navigate their transition from college to corporate successfully.
Alumni Interaction on Career Opportunities

The Department of Physical Sciences (Statistics) conducted an alumni interaction session on August 1st at 1:40 PM for I Year CSM and CSE Statistics students and Final Year STMM students. The guest speaker was Mr. Tejas P. B, an accomplished alumnus and Research Associate at IIT Bengaluru.
Mr. Tejas shared his academic and professional journey, shedding light on emerging career opportunities in Data Science. He discussed the essential skills required in the field, including statistical analysis, programming, and problem-solving abilities. His talk emphasized the significance of research, internships, and interdisciplinary learning in building a successful data science career.
The session was informative and engaging, providing students with valuable career insights and encouraging them to explore the dynamic field of data science.
Unlocking Potential: The scope and opportunities in BSc Physical Sciences

The Department of Physical Sciences organized an Alumni Talk for I year BSc physical sciences students. The Resource Persons were Mr. Kurian George, Project Manager and Mr. Marian Ruben Project Lead, Kristu Jayanti Software Development Cell.
The session included a broad range of topics, from the core structure and scope of the program to the diverse career opportunities that await graduates. It helped the students to focus on gaining more insights into the future prospects of the field and how emerging technologies are shaping the job market.
Resource person spoke about the critical, technical and soft skills required to excel in the tech industry, including problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication.
They asked the students to explore opportunities for advanced studies and research in Computer Science, including master’s programs, PhDs, and specialized certifications.
