He mentioned that no matter what caste we are born into, it is very important to envisage human race as an entity by cultivating human virtues. True virtue lies when one is in complaisance with the religion and ideas of one's neighbors as mentioned in the Kavirajamarga poetry. Quoting from Indian history the chief guest recollected that India is a labyrinth of historical facts and has witnessed events which prove our tolerance and acceptance, resulting to the existing peace and providence we enjoy as a country.
Mr. Mukundaraj quoted “ Kannada means freedom, Kannada means equality, Kannada means brotherhood, Kannada means constitution, Kannada means peace, Kannada means democracy. Therefore, those who see Kannada with love, respect and concern, he called for the respect of India's constitution, democracy and Kannada heritage as well.”
In the Speech, the speaker felicitated the contribution of Christian missionaries to Kannada language and literature. He reminisced that Christian missionaries refurbished knowledge of our Kannada Adikavi Pampa, which was unknown to us. It is through them that our Kannada consciousness and India's independence consciousness arose. Due to the educational revolt by Christian missionaries, discrimination is eradicated.
