SDG 1: NO POVERTY
Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to University) (India) offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs and hosts several research centres, including one on social work, which has conducted projects focused on contemporary social issues. The college wants its students “to realise their potential and make positive contributions leading to the prosperity of society and the nation at large”. Among the core values of the college is to instil in students a dedication to community and a commitment to uplifting marginalised groups. The institution seeks to empower students from different socio-economic backgrounds through education and a culture of community engagement and believes quality education is a powerful weapon to ensure a zero-poverty world. To further this work, the Jayantian Extension Services program was started to develop awareness about social realities, to connect students with underprivileged communities and to empower them to engage in social change.
