Manic Mondays (Mime and Clowning)
Faces all painted white and colors blooming in every corner. The manic Monday that was held on October 17th, 2022, was set with a tone of mystery and curiosity.
What began as a normal mime performance on the college lawn was soon followed by vibrant and enchanting clown characters who revealed themselves from hiding and broke the fourth wall by interacting with the excited audience. Each character embodied a rasa or emotion from the navarasa (nine emotions) theory (that is Hasya-happiness, Bhyanaka-fear, Shringara-love, Roudra-anger, Adbutha-wonder, Bibhatsa-disgust, Karuna-fear, Veera-courage/heroism, and Shanta-peace) through their costumes, makeup, and flamboyant expressions.
After a short performance, the clown characters soon set out to interact with various students on different parts of the campus, displaying their theatrical skills to the students.
This interaction went on till the end of the lunch break thus serving as a tool of entertainment and insight into the vast curriculum and knowledge that is present in the domain of performing arts.
