Jagruth Jagruth” is Hindi word, it means “Awakening”. Centre for social Activities is awakening the students through Presentation and discussion on various social issues. Usually CSA is conducting Jagruth Programme twice in a year. It given an opportunity to students to interact with NGO’s, which makes them to reflect on social issues with special focus on what students could do to improve the situation. The students are encouraged to present their experience in creative and enjoyable ways through presentations, dramas, street plays, painting, collages etc. Some issues discussed are School dropouts, Disaster Management, Air pollution, Child Labour, Drug Addict, Rural development, Organ Donation, Nuclear Weapons, Poverty, Global Warming, Deforestation, Sexual Harassment, Drug Addicts etc.

Jagruth
Phase 1 of Jagruth was held on 05-12-2020 (Saturday) at 1.30 p.m, the session began with the brief introduction about JAGRUTH by the student Coordinators. Senior volunteers are divided into 5 teams and each team presented various social issues (Woman Safety, Climate Change, Plastic Pollution, Food Security and Stray Animals) to the junior volunteers. Presentations were followed by a Q & A session where students and faculty members came up with various questions and solutions to the problems. 336 students benefited from this session. Prof.M.Shashi Kumar, CSA Secretary encouraged and motivated all the students to be a part of the Kristu Jayanti College CSA and to do their bit for the betterment of the society. The session ended with thanking the Management and the Faculty coordinators.

Jagruth –Reflection on Social Issues
Centre for Social Activities of Kristu Jayanti College organised ‘Jagruth’ on 1st February 2020, 2:00 pm at Mini Auditorium – I, Admin Block. Jagruth is a sensitization program, which provides students with an opportunity to identify explore and present on various social issues.

Students visit NGO’s, interact with experts and present the collected information through posters, videos and PPT presentations. The session began with the welcome speech by a second year volunteer. Selected volunteers briefed their presentations. Presentations were followed by Q&A session where students and faculties came up with various questions and solutions to the problems. The judges for the event were Mr. Ajith P Mathews and Ms. Sharmili Chatterjee. As a result of this interaction, students are sensitized on various social issues and enable them to organize various awareness programs for betterment of society

Fraud and Blind Faith

On 14th September, a team of 6 senior CSA volunteers discussed various social issues like Stress Management, Human Trafficking, Solid Waste Management, Pollution Control and Organ Trading. It was a thought provoking presentation. Students discussed the issue with real life examples. Students explained about the NGOs contribution towards the problems. The audience asked many questions and they shared few suggestions also. It was an interactive presentation by the senior CSA volunteers.

Pradibimba (Jagruth):
Centre for Social Activities of Kristu Jayanti College organized role play event on 29th July 2017. The aim of the program was to build relationship and skill among the volunteers. In the program the volunteers where divided into 11 groups and where given a Different social issue topic, based on the topics volunteers presented the Role play. Topics like Water Management, Women Empowerment, Human Trafficking, Beggar Mafia, Drug Addiction etc., were handled by the students. There were 100 CSA volunteers were participated the event. CSA volunteers enthusiastically presented the role-play.

On 20th September team of 5 Final year CSA Volunteers discussed various social issues like Human Trafficking, Solid waste Management and Organ Trading. It is a thought provoking presentation. Students discussed the issue with real life examples. Students explained well about the NGO contribution towards the problems. Audience asked many questions and they shared few suggestions also. It was an interactive presentation by the Senior CSA Volunteers. Total number of students participated in this event was great successful one.

Centre for Social Activities had organized Jagruth on 9th and 10th March 2016 at 2.30pm in Main Auditorium. Jagruth is a sensitization program, which provided a platform for the students to present their findings and solution on various social issues. As a result of this interaction, students organize various awareness programs for betterment of society.

In Jagruth 16 teams presented their views and more than 100 volunteers participated in the program. The social issues discussed are: Human Trafficking, Women Safety, Hunger to Grow, Waste management, Disaster Management , Child labor, Women Empowerment, Malnutrition, Atrocity Against Women, RTI, Slum Clearance, Abortion, Sexual Harassment, Civic Sense, Orphanage, Traffic and Safety, Beggar Mafia . Staff Coordinators of CSA, Alumni were also present.
