Name of the event:Once Upon A Tune
The Literary and Cultural Association of Kristu Jayanti College celebrated the joy of Christmas with ‘Once Upon A Tune’ on 18 December, 2020. It was a Musical show put up by the Kristu Jayanti College Choir with the theme – ‘Hope is Born.’ The Christmas celebration was filled with music in a storyline of a young child meeting Santa Claus and was amazed at the décor and lights. The young child reminisces with each and every song. The audience was filled with a ‘thrill of hope’ for a wonderful Christmas.

Father James Narithooki, Superior, CMI Ashram, shared a Christmas message of making the impossible possible. He called to everyone to be a messenger of peace marching forward hand in hand, working together in making the world a better place to live in.

Dr Fr Augustine George, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College, shared a brief Christmas message at the end of the show emphasizing on hope and highlighted the meaning of Christmas joy, being thoughtful to our family and friends, and the reason for celebration in this festive season, the birth of Christ. Father also appreciated and thanked the students for their hard work in making ‘Once Upon a Tune’ a wonderful celebration.

The musical was a jolly(joyful) Jayantian celebration amidst the ongoing pandemic. Thousands of students across the country and the world tuned in through YouTube live and shared the Christmas spirit with the Jayantian family.


Name of the event:Once Upon A Tune
Once Upon A Tune, the annual Christmas celebration of Kristu Jayanti College was staged on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the S.K.E Auditorium. The theme of the 2019 OUAT was "Love Theory". The show allowed the audience to ponder over the true meaning and feeling of love, through a combination of six songs delivered by the Jayantian choir under the leadership of their dynamic choirmaster, Mr Prujeeth Joshua, beginning with "Jesus the same" by Israel and New Breed, "God rest ye merry gentlemen", the evergreen Christmas classic, a medley of "Silent Night", and "Oh Come all ye faithful”, another medley of "There is power” and “Nothing but the blood of Jesus", "Alpha and Omega", "Every praise is to our God", "Reckless Love", "Santa Claus is coming to town", "Love Theory" and "FelizNavidad". The songs were interwoven with a skit, written and directed by the students of the KJC Choir.

The Literary and Cultural Association of Kristu Jayanti College celebrated the joy of Christmas with ‘Once Upon A Tune’ on 19 December, 2018. The programme was a musical put up by the Kristu Jayanti College Choir with the theme – ‘Joy to the World.’

The musical had two shows, at 11:00am and at 3:00pm and was staged at the SKE Auditorium. The event was an amalgamation of theatre, music and dance that portrayed a modern Christmas story. With the theme of ‘Joy to the World’, the musical followed the story of a young student discovering the true meaning of joy in the midst of surrounding loneliness and despair. The act was interjected by popular Christmas carols such as Angels we have heard on High, Hark the Herald, Silent Night and Joy to the World and a Malayalam song, Nanniyoda, among others. The songs also had accompanying dance performances.

Rev. Fr. Augustine George, Vice Principal, Kristu Jayanti College, shared a brief Christmas message at the end of the first show. Father lauded the student’s performances and laid emphasis on the true meaning of Christmas, - sharing joy and love with those around you.

Rev. Fr. Josekutty P.D, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College, shared a message at the end of the second show. Father highlighted the meaning of Christmas joy, being thoughtful to our family and friends and the reason for celebration in this festive season, the birth of Christ.

The musical was a joyous Jayantian celebration that brought about a lively spirit of Christmas cheer on the college campus.
