On the 25th of February Kristu Jayanti College celebrated its 20th Annual College Day. It is a day to recognize all the major achievements of the college students in the academic year 2018-19 and also celebrate the talents of the Jayantians in different cultural dance and music performances.
Rev. Fr. Josekutty, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College presented the Annual Report. Fr. Josekutty vividly described the events, achievements and accolades of the college and the students over the past year while mentioning with gratitude all those who contributed to the development of the college. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Verne Bragg, Regional Managing Partner and Audit Practice Leader at Grant Thornton, Bangalore. He emphasised the importance of values in life and also spoke about the habits needed to pursue excellence. Mr. Kenny George Eapen, the parent representative expressed his gratitude for the services provided by the college towards the holistic development of its students.
There was a felicitation of the student achievers of the year. Sneha Siby and Faizan Munshi, debate winners of South Zone Youth Festival and Mr. Arun Jose who won accolades in Taekwondo throughout the year were recognized for their achievements.
The formal function was followed by an informal programme where students of the different departments of the college presented dances, music performances and theatre acts. A total of 41 performances were staged by various students. It was a celebration of talent, culture and expression.
The programme was concluded with the announcement of the ‘Best Outgoing Students’ for the academic year 2018-19. Mr. Johnny Baby and Ms. Christy Maria Antony of the Department of Commerce were crowned the best outgoing students as ‘Mr. & Ms. Jayantian.’
