The millennial generation of software developers is the future visionaries of companies and nations. To keep pace with rapid changes in the IT sector, the department has an auspicious club, Computer Academy, with more than 2500 members attempting to confluence between the technology and academics through a series of programmes like Guest lectures, Workshops, Seminars, Industrial Visit, Intra and Inter Collegiate fest, Science Exhibition and various communities.

The Department has initiated an Academic Alliance with UiPath, Salesforce, Oracle Academy, Microsoft, ICT Academy, ACM-W, NPTEL, AWS Academy, Dell EMC, Palo Alto Academy, Honeywell, SAP, Qlik, Celonis, Infosys, RedHat, NASSCOM Future Skills Prime, MongoDB Academy, NIIT Foundation and VMware IT Academy, NPTEL Local Chapter, IIT Madras Code Chapter and IIRS Nodal Center to craft initiatives to address the contemporary skill gap in the novel computing technologies. It helps to ensure the industry has a strong pipeline of graduates to meet its future needs. The department also has a Knowledge Kindle Groups and vibrant Women Tech communities to allow the students to connect, communicate and collaborate. The department encourages the students for an extended learning process, such as self-paced learning through various MOOCs, various domain certificate courses and NPTEL courses of their interest.

Complementing the academic and industry-driven initiatives of the Department, the Skill Studio serves as a focused platform for nurturing hands-on technical competence among students. Skill Studio is designed to help learners hone their practical skills through structured and collaborative learning experiences such as study jams, peer-teaching technical sessions, hands-on workshops, and dedicated doubt-clearing sessions.

This initiative promotes a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and peer mentorship, enabling students to learn beyond the classroom and gain confidence in applying concepts to real-world problem-solving. By encouraging active participation and experiential learning, Skill Studio plays a vital role in transforming students into self-driven, skilled professionals who are well-prepared to meet industry expectations and technological challenges.
