Computer Academy
COMPUTER ACADEMY is the computer science club maintained by the Department of Computer Science(UG) having more than 800 members. The students of Department of computer science are encouraged to undertake a multitude of curricular and extracurricular activities beyond their syllabus to enrich their knowledge base as well as skills. This serves as a forum to interact and harness their lateral talents and strengths through various activities. Many Interactive, innovative and intellectual sessions are conducted in technology on diversified areas.
The students are encouraged to participate, organize and be part of confluence between technology and academics through a series of programmes like:
Guest lectures,Workshops, Seminars and Technical video sessions: These enhances the educational experience by providing students with the current industry experiences, insights and perspectives on their domain.
Industrial visits: Students are exposed to a different landscape, variety of people thereby encouraging interaction, exchange of ideas and to acquire the knowledge about the basic functionality of an organization.
Inter and intra collegiate fests: An intra-collegiate fest "Synchronize" is organized for the first and second year students of computer science by the third year students where they get an opportunity to organize, participate and showcase their potentials. "Xactitude" is National level inter collegiate computer science fest envisaged by the academy where students from other colleges can showcase their intelligence and creativity in myriad facets of information technology.
Science exhibition: ”Galaxia" is a two day science exhibition in which students from our college and other colleges develop computer science, electronics, statistics and mathematics projects which provide them an opportunity to experiment and innovate along with the curriculum learning.
Technical communities: Technical communities provide a platform for the students to discuss, share and update their knowledge in various domains of information technology.
Social outreach programmes: This programme provides the students an opportunity to recognize their social responsibility to give back and contribute to the development of the society.
As a whole computer academy is a gateway which allows our next generation scientists, engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs and artists to be able to innovate using computation, have excellent communication skills, be professional in approach and attitude, spotlight in big picture.

Xactitude 2026

Xactitude 2026, the 17th edition of the inter-collegiate IT fest at Kristu Jayanti University organised by the department of computer science, served as a dynamic platform for students to showcase their technical expertise and innovative ideas in computer science and emerging technologies. The fest featured coding challenges, strategic competitions, creative events, gaming tournaments, workshops, and the KJU-HACKS hackathon, offering participants diverse opportunities to demonstrate skill, creativity, and analytical thinking.
Aligned with the theme “Collective Intelligence for a Distributed Tomorrow,” the programme emphasized collaboration, decentralized innovation, and ethical technological advancement. Participants actively engaged in problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and decision-making activities throughout the event.
The programme successfully bridged academic knowledge with industry-relevant practices, fostering technological excellence, responsible innovation, and holistic skill development. Overall, Xactitude 2026 stood as a vibrant celebration of collective intelligence, creativity, and future-ready learning.

Annual intra-university IT fest Synchronize 2025
Date: 08 & 11 September 2025
The Department of Computer Science, School of Computational and Physical Sciences, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), inaugurated its annual intra-university IT fest Synchronize 2025 under the theme “Leveraging Smart Innovation for a Sustainable Future.” The theme emphasized how technology can unite people, spark creativity, and ignite possibilities, coordinated by Dr. Stephen A and Ms. Mary Sanjana Joseph, with student coordinators Mr. Yash Prakash and Ms. Arpitha, the fest attracted 1034 registrations across all events.
Seven vibrant teams:Bug Reapers, Algo Ninjas, Byte Bandits, Data Raiders, Logic Lords, Glitch Monks, and Syntax Shinobis;competed in eight events including IT Manager, Code Sustain, Web Weavers, Anime Quest, TechJar, Illustra, Sensorize, and Chronoscape, testing leadership, teamwork, creativity, and technical skills. The preliminary rounds were conducted from 8th to 11th September 2025, leading up to the grand finale on 11th September 2025.
Rev.Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Vice Chancellor, inspired students to embrace innovation with curiosity, creativity, and intelligence, sharing compelling stories of global inventions and emphasizing how education can be a powerful tool to address real-world challenges. In the inaugural address, Dr. Bhagyavana Mudigoudra, Special Officer, E-Governance, Department of Higher Education, Bengaluru, highlighted the transformative power of technology in shaping modern civilization and urged students to pursue innovation with ethics, persistence, and passion, empowering them to create solutions that drive a sustainable and better future.The fest concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, graced by Rev. Fr. Dr. Lijo P Thomas, Pro Vice-Chancellor, awarding certificates and mementos to winners and celebrating the talent, enthusiasm, and innovative spirit of Kristu Jayanti students.

Xactitude’25 - Intercollegiate IT Fest
Date: 30 & 31 January 2025
The Department of Computer Science (UG), in collaboration with the Computer Academy, successfully hosted Xactitude’25, an intercollegiate IT fest themed "Revitalizing – Tech for Tomorrow." This two-day event was executed under the guidance of Dean, Faculty of Sciences Dr. Calistus Jude AL, Head, Prof. Sevuga Pandian A, Programme Coordinator Dr. Kalaiselvi K, and Dr. Ranjitha M, with faculty coordinators Dr. Prathap G, Dr. Yashodha MB and, Ms. Navya Francis alongside student coordinators Mr. Nagraj S Math, Ms. Guddi, Ms. Amreen, and Mr. Rishab Bhatt. The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from 85 students across 12 colleges, competing in 10 diverse events that emphasized technical expertise, analytical thinking, and innovation.
The competitions included IT Manager, a strategic resource management challenge; Hack-n-Build, a real-time hackathon; BGX (Gaming - BGMI), a high-stakes gaming battle; CodeShift, a coding and debugging contest; and Weblynx, a creative web development challenge. DataQuest focused on data analysis and visualization, while Cinephoria showcased videography and editing skills. Quiztacular tested participants’ IT knowledge, Agora enhanced public speaking abilities, and Xploit evaluated cybersecurity expertise.
On the Grand Finale of Xactitude’25, Mr. Aditya Prakash, Founder & CEO of NuageSync, delivered an insightful keynote on emerging technologies and industry advancements. The Principal, Fr. Dr. Augustine George, delivered the presidential address, followed by innovative promotional activities incorporating technology and creativity, featuring rovers and motorized signage. Most of the day was dedicated to the final rounds of various events, culminating in a dignified Valedictory session. The Valedictory session commenced with a presidential address by Fr. Deepu Joy, Director, Students Welfare Office, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous, who also awarded certificates and mementos to the event winners. With its dynamic events, engaging sessions, and competitive spirit, Xactitude’25 once again proved to be a premier platform for aspiring technologists, fostering innovation, networking, and hands-on learning.

Synchrotech'24-Intra Collegiate IT fest
Date: 20 September 2024
The Department of Computational studies has organized Synchrotech 24, an intra-collegiate IT fest centered around the theme of "Singularity: Sync your tech skills". This event, which spanned a week, was organized by the faculty coordinators Ms. Navya Francis and Mr. Prathap G and student coordinators Ms. Amreen and Mr. Rishab bhatt, under the guidance of Head, Prof Sevuga Pandian A and Programme Coordinator Dr. Kalaiselvi K, with commented participation of 230 solo registrations and 342 group registrations, featuring 10 teams and 10 events.
The event Quiztacular, with 97 participants, had 8 finalists, Mathtastic included two rounds, culminating in an intense Auction round to determine the winner. Novus Artifex had 45 participants competing in three different rounds. Xploit narrowed down 8 out of 46 participants through three rounds to find the best person with knowledge of cyber security. Tech Prodigy, the most prestigious event, featuring challenging rounds, with Mr. Abhijit Sudheer securing the coveted title. Tryzone, the most participated event, followed the prelims-finals format. The technical event Codenova, selected its winner through two rounds of prelims and finals, while Digital Duel spanned three rounds with analytical thinking and debating skills. The gaming events consisted of two, FIFA and Call of Duty Mobile with an active participation of future gamers.
On the Grand Finale of Synchrotech on September 20th, 2024, the chief guest Mr. Lt. Col. Vs Velan, who is a CTO and founder of Elena Geo Systems Pvt Ltd, delivered the inaugural address. The Principal Fr. Dr. Augustine George has delivered the presidential address followed by promotional activities incorporating technology and creativity, featuring rovers and motorized signage. Most of the day was dedicated to the finals of various events, culminating in a dignified Valedictory session. The Valedictory session commenced with a presidential address by Dr. Calistus Jude AL, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Kristu Jayanti College, Autonomous and awarded the certificates and mementos to the event winners. Synchronize 2024

The Department of Computer Science (UG) has organized "Synchronize 2024", an intra-collegiate IT fest themed "Synchronizing Modern Tech with Indian Ethos." This week-long event, organized by faculty coordinators Dr. Yashoda M B and Dr. Sudharsan M, along with student coordinators Mr. Nagraj S Math and Ms. Guddi, was conducted under the supervision of Head Prof. Sevuga Pandian A. It saw active participation from 700 first- and second-year undergraduates, featuring six teams and twelve events.
The fest aimed to showcase students' Jnana (knowledge), Viveka (discernment), Samskara (impressions), and Kaushalya (skills) through a range of activities. To encourage both competition and collaboration, participants were divided into six teams: TechnoMystics, TechBrigade, TechHaven, SynchroForge, TechVinzo, and SiliconDawgs. These teams competed in twelve engaging events, including IT Manager, ByteQuest, Agora, Research, Video Editing, Coding, Poster Designing, Tech Hunt, Gaming, Strategic Thinking, Creating Cutting-Edge Prototypes, and Web Development.
On the event's concluding day, September 10th, 2024, Mr. Pradeep K M, Chief Architect of Platform Engineering Services at IBM and with over 20 years of experience, delivered the inaugural address as the chief guest. The Principal, Fr. Dr. Augustine George, presented the presidential address. Most of the day was spent on the final rounds of the events, ending with a special Valedictory ceremony. The Valedictory session commenced with the valedictory address by Fr. Deepu Joy, Director, Student Welfare Office, who presented certificates and mementos to the winners. The vote of thanks was given by student coordinator Ms. Guddi.

Observance of Anti Ragging Week
The Department of Computer Science (UG) launched a week-long Anti-Ragging Awareness Campaign, titled “Observance of Anti Ragging Week,” starting on 13/08/2024. The campaign's primary focus was to safeguard students' physical and mental well-being by highlighting the dangers of ragging, which can lead to severe emotional and physical harm. Through this initiative, the department aimed to create a safer campus environment by educating students, faculty, and staff about the consequences of ragging and the legal penalties associated with it. The campaign also emphasized the importance of fostering a positive and inclusive campus culture, where respect, empathy, and community support are prioritized. To further engage students, the department organized a poster design competition, where twenty students creatively expressed their commitment to the anti-ragging theme. The top-rated posters received first and second prizes, reinforcing the campaign’s message and encouraging a collective effort to maintain a healthy educational atmosphere.
