Morphology:
  • Short trees(4m-8m), evergreen, branched
  • Leaves are ovate, simple, short acuminate, entire, young parts are green
  • Petiole 5-10cm long, scaly
  • Seeds are ovoid, brown, hairy
  • Flowers yellow in colour with crimson red in centre

  • Used in Ayurveda
  • Ground bark is used in treating dysentery, haemorrhoids, skin diseases
  • Leaves used in treating inflammation especially in joint inflammation.
  • The yellow sticky sap is used to treat ringworm infection, scabies.
  • Fruits help in treating diabetes
  • The barks leaves are used to treat UTIs, cholera.
