Morphology:
  • Climbing shrubs with articulated branches and stem.
  • Roots are pale brown in colour and are numerous, fleshy , tuberous roots with vanilla like fragrance.
  • Fruits are paired , divaricate follicles.

  • Used in Ayurveda and Chinese medicine.
  • Roots are used for the treatment as to stimulate appetite, as a blood purifier and for digestion issues.
  • Usually used in the form of decoction or directly the roots are chewed.
  • Used in Sharbat ( drinks) and pickles.
