Add on Course: Corporate Culture and Professional Etiquette
Date: 08 to 10 December 2025
The Add-On Course on Corporate Culture and Professional Etiquette was offered to BBA (PMS) II Semester students and organised by the Department of Professional Management Studies with the objective of developing essential professional competencies required in corporate and organizational environments.
The course was conducted during the period from 8th to 10th December 2025 in A1, A2 and A3 Auditorium, in Admin Block, providing focused and structured exposure to workplace culture, organizational values, and professional behaviour. The curriculum covered topics such as the meaning and importance of corporate culture, types of workplace culture, organizational hierarchy, reporting structures, workplace ethics, and professional etiquette.
Special emphasis was placed on effective communication, teamwork, time management, grooming, discipline, and formal conduct in corporate settings. An assessment was conducted at the end of the course to evaluate students’ understanding of the concepts covered. Certificates were issued to students who successfully completed the course and assessment.
The add-on course significantly contributed to enhancing students’ professional readiness, ethical awareness, and confidence, preparing them for internships and future career opportunities.

Certificate course on Spreadsheet for Managers
Date: 04 Aug to 30 Sep 2025
The Department of professional studies, Kristu Jayanti College (deemed to be university), Bengaluru, in collaboration with Face Prep and the National Skill Development Authority (NSDA), successfully conducted a 90+ hour Vocational Certificate Course in Advanced Excel aimed at enhancing students’ analytical and technical skills. A total of 57 students from BBA banking and fintech participated in the programme, which was delivered through a blended mode combining online instruction with hands-on practical sessions. The course covered five key modules—Advanced Formulas and Functions, Data Management, Data Visualization, Financial Applications, and Automation using Macros and VBA. The training emphasized practical learning, involving live exercises, case studies, and a final project assessment.
Students were evaluated through continuous assessments and project work, leading to the award of joint certification from Kristu Jayanti College, Face Prep, and NSDA.
Participants demonstrated strong engagement and achieved significant improvement in their ability to manage, analyse, and visualize business data using Excel. The course outcomes highlighted enhanced employability skills, proficiency in data analytics, and readiness for industry roles requiring advanced data handling capabilities.
The initiative received positive feedback from both students and faculty, marking it as a successful step toward bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements through national-level skill collaboration.

Value Added Course (VAC) on Foundations Of Academic Research
Date: 18 to 22 August 2023
From 18th to 22nd July 2025, the Department of Professional Management Studies conducted a Value Added Course (VAC) on “Foundations of Academic Research” for the V Semester BBA PMS students. The sessions were held in the second-floor classrooms and aimed at strengthening students’ preparedness for academic projects, capstone work, dissertations, and higher studies.
The programme began with an introductory session in which faculty members outlined the learning objectives, the significance of academic research, and its role in managerial decision-making. Participants were oriented toward understanding research as a systematic process grounded in evidence, analysis, and ethical inquiry.
Across five days, the course was delivered through interactive lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. The key areas covered included:
• Introduction to academic research, its scope, significance, and applications in management studies.
• Identification and formulation of research problems, research questions, and hypotheses.
• An overview of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research designs.
• Techniques of data collection including surveys, interviews, and observational methods.
• Conducting literature reviews and synthesizing research findings.
• Basics of statistical tools and an introduction to digital/AI tools for data analysis.
• Ethical dimensions of research, plagiarism awareness, and referencing standards.
• Structuring research reports and presenting findings academically and professionally.
Faculty members adopted a participatory and learner-centred approach. Students engaged in group discussions, short research tasks, and reflective exercises, which encouraged critical thinking and conceptual clarity. A mini research project was assigned wherein students selected a topic, drafted a brief proposal, collected sample data, and presented preliminary insights. This experiential component enabled them to apply conceptual learning to practical scenarios.
Feedback collected at the end of the VAC reflected a positive response, with students expressing increased confidence in research design, data handling, and academic writing. Many appreciated the clarity gained in framing research problems and understanding research ethics. The programme concluded with a valedictory session in which faculty members acknowledged the enthusiasm and active involvement of the students. Certificates of completion were distributed to the beneficiaries, marking the successful completion of the course.

Value Added Course - Foundations of Academic Research

The Department of Professional Management Studies conducted a five day VAC on “Foundations of Academic Research” to prepare V Semester BBA PMS students for academic projects and dissertations. The sessions included interactive lectures, workshops, and hands on activities covering research fundamentals, problem formulation, methodology, data collection, literature review, analysis tools, ethics, and report writing. Faculty adopted participatory teaching with group discussions, Q&A sessions, and mini research assignments, enabling students to apply theoretical concepts to in practice. As part of the skill development activities, students designed questionnaires, conducted sample surveys, and analysed data. They were also introduced to AI tools such as JSTOR, Connected Papers, Unriddle, Julius AI, and Trinka for literature review and writing assistance. The programme concluded with presentations of mini projects, feedback collection, and a valedictory session. Feedback indicated that the VAC improved research confidence, analytical thinking, and clarity in project execution. Certificates were awarded to all participants. The course successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and research application, fostering essential academic and professional research competencies.

Value Added Course - Personal branding
Date: 08 to 10 August 2025
Department of Professional Management Studies offered value added course on Personal branding for the I BBA Professional Management Studies Students from 08/07/2025 to 10/07/2025. This value-added course was customized with the objective to make the students industry ready. The syllabus was also designed in such a way to attain the objective in the effective manner. The courses content consists of theoretical and skill developmental aspects to enrich the student’s knowledge. The courses were handled by the department faculties and allotted the class for each faculty based on their preference given on the topics. This course was scheduled from Tuesday (08/07/2025) to Wednesday (10/07/25) between 8.00 AM to 03.30 PM with frequent interval between the sessions. It is essential for every student to behave in a socially acceptable way. Personal branding is the intentional process of shaping and managing an individual's public image to showcase their unique skills, values, and personality. A student must know how to showcase skill, value at the workplace.
