Book Review on the Book “Kala Koustubh”

As part of Jnana Darshan – Annual Book Exhibition 2025-26, the Library and Information Centre, under the initiative of the Library Resource Usage Optimization Committee, in collaboration with the School of Humanities & Social Sciences and the Department of Hindi, organized a book review session on the title Kala Koustubh on 16 September 2025. The session was led by Dr. Muslim Abdul Rajak, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), who provided a thought-provoking and comprehensive review of the book. Dr. Rajak discussed the depth of literary expression, cultural significance, and the unique narrative techniques employed by the author, emphasizing how the work resonates with contemporary readers while retaining classical roots. The programme was attended by students from the Department of Hindi and other disciplines, who actively engaged in the interactive discussion. The participants reflected on the book’s thematic richness and its relevance in understanding diverse perspectives of literature and society. The session also highlighted the importance of utilizing library resources for exploring significant literary works and fostering critical appreciation of texts beyond the classroom.


Book Review Session on "Pundit Not So Punny" by Dr. Giftsy Dorcas – Jnanadarshan 2025

Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) hosted a vibrant Book Review Session as part of Jnanadarshan 2025 on 16 September 2025 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the M1 Auditorium. The session featured the engaging book "Pundit Not So Punny" authored by Dr. Giftsy Dorcas E Assistant Professor, Department of English, sparking thoughtful discussions and reflections among participants. It provided a platform for students and faculty to delve into the book’s themes while celebrating the joy of literary exploration.


Book review on Microbial enzymes as potential biotherapeutics in human healthcare

As a part of annual book exhibition, Jnana Darshan, organized by the Library Resource Usage Optimization committee, Library and Information Centre of Kristu Jayanti, Deemed to be University, a book review session was organized by, in collaboration with Department of Life Sciences, School of biological and Forensic Science on “Microbial enzymes as potential biotherapeutics in human healthcare” by Dr. Dileep Francis, Dean of Research and Development, Department of Life Science. The review highlighted how microbial enzymes, beyond being simple biological catalysts, are now seen as promising tools in modern therapeutics. By connecting microbiology with healthcare innovation, it emphasized both their present applications and their vast potential in addressing future health challenges.

The faculty coordinator of Jnana Darshan, Dr. Uma Maheshwary and Harish D N, Chief Librarian attended the session. The session concluded with presenting a gift to Dr. Dileep Francis by the coordinator Dr. Uma Maheshwary.


Book review sessions

As a part of Jnana Darshan, Annual Book Exhibition conducted by Library Resource Usage Optimization Committee, book review sessions were held on 15 th September 2025. The first session happened between 12:00 PM to 12: 50 PM at M1 Auditorium, the session was chaired by Dr Anindita Chowdhury of English Dept. She spoke about the book published by her entitled ‘Demystifying Indigeneity’ and the session was attended by BCA computational studies and the session proved to be very effective.


Book Review Session on Banking Law and Practices

On the auspicious occasion of the Janana Darshan Exhibition 2025–26, a Book Review Session was organized by the Library Usage Optimization Committee in collaboration with the Department of Professional Management Studies on 15th September 2025. The event aimed to foster knowledge-building in the fields of commerce and financial literacy.

The session featured the book Banking Law and Practices, authored by Prof. Shilpa Rao, Assistant Professor in the Department of Professional Management Studies from School of Business and Management. Prof. Rao presented an insightful overview of the book, stressing the importance of banking in today’s globalized economy and the role of banking laws in safeguarding financial institutions while ensuring public trust.

The book covers a wide range of topics including the evolution of banking laws in India, principles of regulation, negotiable instruments, customer obligations, electronic banking, risk management, and the role of the RBI. Its distinctive strength lies in the practical approach that blends theoretical perspectives with case laws and real-world applications.

The students of Professional Management Studies actively participated in the interactive segment, engaging in meaningful discussions on digital banking, cybersecurity challenges, and the future of fintech within the current legal framework. This exchange highlighted their interest in understanding the intersection of law, technology, and financial practice.

The session concluded with an emphasis on the relevance of Banking Law and Practices as a resource that bridges academic learning with professional practice, making it an indispensable guide for learners and practitioners in the banking and financial sector.


Book Review

As part of the Jnana Darshan Annual Book Exhibition 2025–26, a book review session was organized on 15 September 2025 at M1 Auditorium on the book titled “Niramaya” authored by Dr. Ravishankar A. K., Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada.

The review of the book was presented by Dr. Syed Muen and Dr. Kirankumar H. G., who highlighted the literary richness, thematic depth, and contemporary relevance of Niramaya. They appreciated the author’s unique style of expression, the cultural reflections embedded in the narrative, and the way the book engages readers with meaningful perspectives.

The session provided participants with a deeper understanding of the book’s significance and sparked thoughtful discussions among the audience.


Inaugural Ceremony of JNANA DARSHAN 25-26 Annual Book Exhibition

The Library and Information Centre at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with the Library Resource Usage Optimization Committee, proudly inaugurated “JNANA DARSHAN 25-26,” an eagerly awaited Annual Book Exhibition. This dynamic two-day celebration on September 15 and 16 features a diverse range of literary events which includes book review sessions, panel discussions and felicitation of student authors, set to captivate book enthusiasts and knowledge seekers alike. Rev. Fr. Dr. Augustine George the Vice chancellor graced the occasion with his inaugural address The event attracted 20 publishers presenting a diverse array of educational and literature works, enriching the academic tapestry of the University.


Orientation session on Online Resources of the Library (ACADEMIC INSIGHTS)

ACADEMIC INSIGHTS,an orientation session on the Online Resources of the Library was conducted on 30th August at 12:00 PM by Ms. Alana Dixon, Assistant Professor, Department of Forensic Science to the faculties of Department of Forensic Science, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) Bengaluru.

The session aimed to familiarize participants with the wide range of digital resources available through the library, including e-books, e-journals, online databases, and digital repositories. Ms. Dixon demonstrated how to access and navigate these platforms effectively for academic and research purposes, covering login procedures, search techniques, and referencing support.

The orientation concluded with an interactive discussion, where participants clarified their queries and explored ways to integrate these resources into their study and research activities. The session proved highly beneficial in enhancing awareness and encouraging the effective use of the library’s online facilities.


Library Orientation on Print and Online Resources
Date: 14 August 2025
On 14.08.2025, an Orientation programme was exclusively arranged for the new and existing members of the library resource usage committee members about the usage of print and online resources available in our libraries. The session was commenced by Ms. Shree Nisha, who spoke about the availability the books based on the different departments in Science, Humanities and administrative blocks. Followed by Mr. Harish, Chief Librarian explained clearly about the various online resources which can be made use by faculty and students for their academic and research pursuits. The session proved to be very effective and illuminating as there are so many vistas of online resources like Delnet ProQuest, Capitaline, EBSCO, etc.

The primary motif is that it has to reach the students through the faculty of the committee. The meeting ended by 5 pm


National Librarian’s Day

The Library Resource Usage Optimization Committee of Kristu Jayanti University organized an event on the occasion of National Librarian’s Day. The event was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, adding grace and importance to the occasion. A special display of Dr. Ranganathan’s works and achievements was arranged. Faculty, staff, and students participated with great enthusiasm. The exhibit highlighted his Five Laws of Library Science and other major contributions. Informative materials and rare collections were showcased. The event emphasized the vital role of libraries in education and research. It concluded with appreciation for the organizing committee’s efforts.
