23 & 24 January 2025 | Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru

The College is affiliated to Bengaluru North University and was reaccredited by NAAC with an 'A++' grade with a CGPAof 3.78 in December 2021. Recognized by UGC under the categories 2(f) & 12(B), the College has been accorded Autonomous Status since 2013 by the University Grants Commission, Government of Karnataka & Bangalore University. The Institution strives to fulfil its mission to provide educational opportunities to all aspiring youth to excel in life by developing academic excellence, fostering values, creating civic responsibility, inculcating environmental concern, and building global competencies in a dynamic learning environment.
‘Maritime Asia’, collectively bordered by the Pacific, Indian and Arctic oceans, sources Asia’s food reserve, traffic of goods and ideas yet figures relatively lesser in global cultural production. "I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I’ll go to it laughing", these lines drawn from Moby Dick foreground the idea of the ocean that must be traversed, not dwelt in. Asia’s ‘great highways' and ‘wide common’ of the sea serve as routes for trade and commerce, these exchanges underpin globalization. Due to unprecedented human trafficking at sea, the ocean has largely become a repository for plastic pollution, waste and effluents. Complex oceanic ecosystems make it inconceivable for human beings to take stock of the interdependence of seas, earth and atmosphere, ‘missing in context’ for redressal. The interrelations between lived experiences and a more abstract or unrepresentable spatial network create a sense of remaking ‘local-planetary’, ‘archipelagic’ belonging and ‘transoceanic worlding’ of place and displacement.
The Department of English offers both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes with the primary objective of acquainting students with a wide gamut of emerging areas of literary study, equipping them with the capacity for critical exploration, and instilling in them deep humanitarian concerns. The Department makes every effort to take students beyond the syllabus in a variety of forums offering myriad opportunities for intellectual enrichment and holistic development. Students are enabled to engage in cultural and comparative analysis of texts, understand and apply various theoretical approaches and also appreciate a variety of perspectives in the teaching and the composition of literary works.
We are calling for documentaries and photographs centered around ecology, oceanology and marine conservation

5. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer’s own research without the express written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.
1. Publication Decisions: The editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the conference proceedings should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions.
2. Fair Play: An editor should evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
3. Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
4. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without the express written consent of the author.
