Excelsior (Intra- collegiate UG fest): The Department of Commerce organizes "Excelsior" an Intra- collegiate fest. It is conducted during the odd semester every year. Excelsior has been a platform for the overall growth of the students. It imbibes in the students the quality of managing the given resources. Every year final year students unite in a combined and synergized effort to organize this fest. Not only does it allow the first and second year students to explore their creative and business sensibilities but it also provides a platform to exhibit textbook managerial practices in a more realistic and personal environment thus strengthening and confirming their understanding of core concepts.
Objective: To awaken the entrepreneurship skills in a student and to enhance the creative thinking and critical thinking skills of the student.
Department of Commerce (UG) on 3rd December 2021 organised Vanijyadarpan-2021, An Intra-Collegiate Commerce Exhibition for the III and V Sem B.Com students. Two weeks prior to the commencement of the event participants were assigned with different commerce topics to prepare a business model, each class was divided into 5 teams and each team had 3 participants in it. Only 1 participant out of the 3 were allowed to represent their business model due to the covid protocols, the participants were asked to swap their positions with their respective team members in frequent intervals such that there is equal participation. All the participants exposed their talents in the event with their outstanding models. Out of all the models, 3 were shortlisted and ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd with cash prize of Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000 & Rs. 1000 respectively. And concluded with Fr. Deepu Joy’s address.
Excelsior 2021: An Intra collegiate fest

Objective: To sensitize the faculty on the objective and method to calculate Academic Aptitude Assessment (AAA) and Outcome Based Education (OBE)
Prof. Vijayakumar R, HoD, Department of Commerce (UG), Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous), Bengaluru stressed on the need to calculate Academic Aptitude Assessment (AAA) and Outcome Based Education (OBE). He focused on the method to calculate both AAA and OBE. He addressed the doubts of the faculty members. He concluded by stating the use that students would derive out of these assessments.
Excelsior 2016: An Intra collegiate fest
Excelsior 2016 was inaugurated on 25August 2016. Mr. Ajay Tiwari, Senior Manager Human Resource, Alcatel-Lucent, was the chief guest for the occasion. Excelsior 2016 with the theme “OLYMPUS- “Race For Ace” showed the tribute to the forgotten ancient Greek games which gave the foundation of present day OLYMPICS. The events witnessed this year were Best Manager, Public Relation, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Business Quiz, Mock Stock and Travel Guide.
The Chief Guest inspired the young minds by having an interactive session. He was able to make the gathering enthusiastic by talking to them and having a conversational address rather than just giving a mere speech.
B.Com Tourism (Vocational) & BA Tourism Students organized “YAAN 2016”, Culinary and Cultural Expo along with an Intra Collegiate Kite Flying Competition as part of World Tourism day celebration on 26-27 September 2016. Mr. M.M Yaseen, Joint General Manager, Air Traffic Management, Bangalore was the Guest of Honor.
222 Students from the tourism department actively participated in the fest. The students were divided into groups. There were approximately 48 stalls, which was set on different themes. Each stall consisted of 5 students and they bought traditional home-made food items for the exhibition. The students dressed up in traditional outfits based on the selected theme and this made the stalls more attractive. The stalls had many write ups, souvenirs and handicrafts which captured the attention of the audience.
‘Excelsior 2015’ the intra-collegiate commerce fest was inaugurated by Shri. Sabin Andrews, Senior Marketing Manager, Amazon India; on September 14, 2015.
His inaugural address focused on the success of the startups which pose a major competition for the established companies. "Decide if you want to be job-seekers or job-makers and if you want to be the latter, you have to stand out, be relevant and leave a legacy", he added.
During his presidential address, Rev. Fr. Augustine George lauded the department for providing the students a platform to come together to showcase their passion and said that fests like Excelsior facilitates team-spirit among the students.

The Undergraduate Department of Commerce organized "Excelsior" an intercollegiate fest on 20-21 September 2013 at Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore. Mr. Navneeth Bheeman, Sr. Manager - APAC operations at McAfee was the Chief Guest.

Adroit (Inter - collegiate UG fest): Is a National level Inter-collegiate Fest and has always been synonymous with great academics, intellect and high IQ's for the past 10 years. This event not only provides a platform for students to compete with each other but, promotes talent and explores new ideas among them. The event promises a multitude of activities and rewards for the talented. Thus, Adroit gives future business leaders a break-through from class rooms into the dynamic and even competitive corporate world through a variety of business related calendar of events, testing their skills, knowledge, expertise, as well as their attitude.
Adroit 2020: Inter collegiate Commerce Fest
“Á LA MODE - Reawakening a new era” promises a multitude of activities and rewards for the talented. It provides a platform for future business leaders to indulge in some dynamic and competitive corporate world tasks through a variety of business related events, testing their skills, knowledge, expertise as well as their attitude. National Level Inter–Collegiate Commerce Fest Adroit will be held on the 31st of January and 1st of February 2020.
These are the events of the fest.
The participant should have the qualities and knowledge about all the events. He/She is the captain of the ship. He/She should have the capability of solving the various problems in the organization. The best manager should have the capacity to cope with immense stress and pressure during the peak hours. He/She should be proactive in the activities of the organization. He/She should be well versed with the essential elements of the organizational activities. The participants will be judged on the basis of the following events given below. In nutshell a BEST MANAGER is an ALL ROUNDER who takes care of the entire department in an organization.
Public relation participant must be well versed with their convincing abilities. He/She is the person who advocates for the organization when mistakes occur due to technical or manual errors. He/She acts like a bridge between the general public and the organization. The participants will be given mock cases and will be given time to present the cases and present innovative solutions for the same.
A HR manager is a person who acts as a connective link between the management of the organization and the employees of the organization. The important work of a HR manager is to assign each task to the concern employees. He/She is responsible for the optimum utilization of the human resource available with them. He/She is the one who recruits potential candidates for the exact vacancies. The participants are judged on their HR skills how they maintain the working environment and solving the problems pertaining to that.
The participants are judged on the basis of their marketing skills. A marketing manager helps in increasing the sales of the products of the organization. He/She should be very innovative and creative in presenting the products in the market. He/She should be well versed with the knowledge of the market. A participant for this event is given a product to launch in the market. The participant in a creative way should launch the product. The Participant should find out the difficulties in launching the product and must solve the problem pertaining to it.
A participant of this event must have a sound knowledge about handling the funds of the organization. They should help the organization in raising the capital for the company. They are responsible for the inflow and outflow of capital resources in an organization.
The participant should have a good knowledge about the stock market and the price fluctuation of the shares. He/She should buy or sell the shares on the basis of demand and supply of the shares of each company. He/She should be quick in their decisions and act swiftly and wisely.
The participant should have all the knowledge about the world of business. The quiz will have questions from business in particular. The participant’s brain should function faster than the timer. It is all about learning, revising and recollecting.
The section of tourism consists of the following events:
The participants are given a particular place and are asked to market the tourist attraction of that particular place it can be any place in the globe.
An event where the participants hunt or discover their own tourist attraction and present it to the general public’s attention.
An event strategist helps in organizing trips and tours. He/She takes care of everything from tickets to boarding and lodging.
The participants must be well known with the facts, and figures about the places. The quiz on tourism is in a form of a questionnaire. The Participants must be able to remember and recollect.
Adroit 2017: Inter collegiate Commerce Fest
The department of Commerce organized Adroit 2017: Inter collegiate Commerce Fest on 17-18 February 2017. Shri. Udayan Banerjee Regional head of operations Great west Global, Bangalore was the Chief Guest. 106 students representing various intuitions though out the nation took part in various events.
The Inauguration commenced in seeking the blessings of the Almighty by a Prayer and Invocation Song by the department choir. Prof. Vijayakumar, Head of the Department of Commerce presented his welcome to the Chief Guest, Co-ordinators of the event and participants from various colleges across the nation; following which the dignitaries on the dais proceeded forward to the lighting of the lamp signifying “Light and Prosperity” as the vision of the institution shining forth through the conference. Rev. Fr. Josekutty P D shared his thoughts on the fest as a bridge between studies and reality. Mr. Godwin Paul introduced the Chief Guest for the day making mention his subject background and highlighted his achievements, then inviting him to address the gathering. Prof. Mohammed Umair proposed the vote of thanks.

The Overalls were given to Christ University, Bangalore (Department of Professional Studies) and the Runners Up to Christ University, Bangalore (Bachelors of Business Management).
National level inter collegiate commerce fest
The Commerce club of Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore organized Adroit 2013 - National level inter-collegiate commerce fest was organized on 13-14 February with the theme - Race against time: A corporate requisite. The fest was an endeavor to create a platform where numerous colleges will get an opportunity to display their real mettle in a progressive economy where commerce, business and trade have become the buzzwords. Mr. C.B Bhaskar, Director Finance- Bangalore International Airport delivered the keynote address.
The overall winners of Adroit 2013 were Sri Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Evening College and St Aloysius College, Mangalore were the Runners up.

Vanijya Darpan 2017: The Commerce exhibition was held on 20 January 2017, in the Main Auditorium at 09.30 AM. Mr Shankar S, Senior Manager of the Indian Overseas Bank, Bangalore was the Chief Guest. He congratulated the efforts for the innovative exhibits and creative ideas presented. He spoke about the recent developments and advancements in the field of commerce and also the importance of getting updated with the present world and how to tackle the situations in the present. He told that all the sectors in commerce were covered in the exhibition right from the traditional Barter system to Demonetization to the Future trends in commerce and he was greatly impressed with the models exhibited.
Vanijya Darpan is the annual Intra Collegiate Commerce Exhibition hosted by the Department of Commerce of Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous). This event focuses on creating a platform for the students to showcase their creativity and to bring their academic knowledge into application. The event presented an avenue for students to showcase their skills and creativity providing an opportunity for students to grow and develop their talents and bring out their best flair in the field of their choice.
Vanijya Darpan 2012, an intra collegiate commerce exhibition was conducted on 24 July 2012. Rev. Fr. Sebastian T.A, Principal, Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore inaugurated the exhibition at 9.00 AM. Students were divided into groups and each group was given a topic based on value, commerce and industry. 32 teams exhibited their innovative, descriptive, creative output in the form of different models and reports.
The top three models were given a cash prizes of Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1000 respectively.
