A National Conference on Reforms in Indian Financial System was organized by Department of Commerce on 11th and 12th September 2012. Shri Manjit Singh, Executive Director, Bangalore Stock Exchange, inaugurated the seminar. It was attended by 85 enthusiastic professionals from various parts of india who were eager to know the intricacies of reforms in the Indian Financial system.

A National Conference on 'Indian Higher Education' in the 21st Century - Five Decades Ahead: Challenges and Prospects was organized by IQAC on 29th and 30th November 2012. Prof. H.A Ranganath, Director of NAAC inaugurated the conference. The conference witnessed representations from 16 universities, 38 institutions and 109 participants from five states.

The Department of Kannada organized a state level seminar on 'Tejaswi Sahitya: Samskrutika Mukamuki' in September 2012. Prof. H.S.Satyanarayana, inaugurated the seminar and spoke about 'Tejaswi Nenapu'. The seminar benefitted 35 faculty members from Karnataka and 200 Jayantians.

The Department of Management Studies organized a National Level Workshop on 'Data Analysis for Social Sciences' (DASS) on January 31, February 01 & 02, 2013. The objective of DASS was to provide hands on training for faculty, researchers and professionals in Data analysis using SPSS for social science Research and policy decisions. Dr.M. K .Sridhar, Executive Director and Member-Secretary Karnataka Knowledge Commission, Government of Karnataka The workshop witnessed the participation of 65 delegates from 35 colleges/institutions across the country.

  1. National Conference on Reforms in Accounting & Taxation was organized by Dept. of Commerce on August 12, 2011. It focused on the contemporary changes in financial statement presentation, use of IFRS and various other issues.

  2. A national level workshop on Entrepreneurship was jointly organized by the Dept. of Life Sciences with Entrepreneurship Development Cell under the auspices of National Entrepreneurship Network of India on Oct. 10 & 11, 2011.

  3. Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college organized a national level seminar on Innovations in Teaching - Learning, Research & Unique Practices in Higher Education on Nov. 17 & 18, 2011.

  4. National level Faculty Development Programme on ‘Data Analysis for Social Sciences’ was organized on Feb. 01-3rd, 2012 by the Dept. of Management Studies.

INTERCOLLEGIATE PROGRAMMES :

  • Department of Social Work in association with National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) organized a one day inter collegiate seminar on Labor Legislations on 9th December 2011. Around 400 students from different colleges participated in it.
  • Management Development Programme on Corporate Governance was successfully organized by Dept. of Management Studies and Commerce in Nov. 23, 2011 to enrich the knowledge of students in contemporary management practices.
  • Management Development Programme on Foreign Exchange and Risk Management was held on Oct. 22, 2011 by the Dept. of Management Studies and Commerce received appreciation from academia and the industry. The Chief Guest was Mrs. Anita Battacharya, Deputy GM, FOREX Dept.  RBI, Bangalore
